Location of the place was great - quiet but near everything we needed. Beds were comfy and rooms very clean. Staff were lovely - I celebrated a milestone birthday and they provided a little treat and late check out, which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was good too. Definitely consider staying here again.

No complaints really. Perhaps some spare mobile phone chargers for forgetful travellers to borrow if need. But otherwise, everything was excellent.

I chose this hotel for its comfort, location, and facilities. Despite some early reviews mentioning minor issues, such as the spa not working - it still wasn’t. I was overall pleased with my stay. The positives: the hotel is impeccably clean, beds and pillows are high-quality, and rooms are very quiet. The location is convenient, close to public transport, and surrounded by parks. Room service food and at the cafe was fresh and tasty, and most of the staff provided excellent customer service.

However, there were inconveniences. My room’s air conditioning didn’t work, requiring multiple maintenance visits and ultimately a room change, which disrupted my plans. Additionally, I experienced some miscommunication with reception, including a delayed taxi that wasn’t monitored, causing me to be late for an event. These issues affected my overall satisfaction with my stay.

Lanson Place was our base for an Australia trip that included a week long break in Tasmania. The hotel was extremely accomodating and held our luggage for us during our trip out to Tasmania. As for the facilities, Lanson Place is a top notch hotel and a great base to explore Melbourne. Situated right next to Parliament Gardens, its well connnected by tram and metro rail and just a short walk away from some of the best food districts in Melbourne. The staff were amazing, the air conditioning just right, and the views from the 5th floor suite we booked extremely pleasing.

First time staying here. I really liked the location and vibe of the place. It’s peaceful and pleasant, right next to parks and gardens, and yet only a few minutes stroll into the bustle of the city, a perfect balance. It has everything you’d expect from a 5 star hotel but without the pretentiousness. My experience was they did all the simple things very well, an unfussy quality. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff are attentive and genuinely friendly, and the restaurants and food were good. Will definitely stay here again when I’m next in Melbourne.

Honestly I had no issues with this place. Doing the simple things well is an under appreciated quality these days, so it’s rare and pleasing to experience it.

The property was just in the outskirts of the cbd, comfortable walk into the city or easy access to free tram and train station. Very deceptive from the outside as they have done a great job of keeping original facade of which is a very historical building, my husbands uncle did his printing apprenticeship there many years ago. Inside is beautifully decorated in modern themes, a welcoming lounge area serviced by very attentive staff. All the staff were so polite, helpful and accommodating, complimentary cocktail was also very appreciated. Breakfast area was very boutique with combination of lounge chairs and dining tables, initially I thought I had walked into a lounge area. Good quality breakfast, eggs made to order. Rooms were tastefully decorated, a little on the small side but beautiful finishing touches, lovely bathrobes and toiletries. Overall a great experience and definitely will be back

Premium 1-bed apartment excellent with great facilities, including a washing machine and kitchen, and with views of Parliament Gardens Room 1001 on the corner and on level 10 with no noise at all from outside or other guests. We liked the integration of heritage (old front building). Staff members were pleasant and responded to our needs. Enjoyed the pool too. Simple on-off light switches, simple shower hand/rose controls, simple a/c controls, no silly i-pad for info - we dislike "trendy" hotel design where there's excessive complex technology to operate simple everyday things.

Ordered chocolate cake from room service twice but they didn't have it - a very minor point! Need a door person to help with luggage as there are steps at the front door. Otherwise everything was great!

The staff were exceptionally friendly, efficient and they organised a birthday card with a little surprise treat when they noticed it was my birthday when we checked in. It is the ideal place for a luxurious getaway staycation, we were just sorry we forgot to pack appropriate clothes to enjoy the beautiful indoor pool and sauna, gym and spa. We did not eat meals at the hotel but the menu was impressive and would try it next time. The luxurious bedroom was well equipped with curated supplies and the bed very comfortable. The location so convenient to walk to theatres, restaurants, coffee shops and wine bars. It is housed in a historical building with the facade intact and interiors modern and tasteful. Some impressive art installations inside.

I stayed at this property with my five-year-old daughter and had a wonderful experience. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Ours included a convenient kitchenette equipped with a coffee machine, toaster, and even a washing machine—perfect for families traveling with children. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to be helpful throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the on-site amenities, especially the lovely pool and well-maintained gym. I’d highly recommend this place for families or anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

I love the friendliness of the staff. Service is amazing. Nothing is a trouble even when things go wrong.

Didn’t receive maple syrup with our pancakes. Twice sent the strangest butter smokey sauce instead that was awful. Staff very apologetic as we specified maple syrup but I couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth. Was also surprised not to receive a complementary drink in the bar upon arrival. We stayed a couple of weeks ago and received one so I thought as a return guest we may considering we had two rooms booked for two people. Perhaps it wasn’t long enough a stay.

The hotel is very modern with high quality touches everywhere including beautiful towels, robes and bedding. Small, but impactful things like having multiple USB charging ports (inc USB-C), fresh milk to have with your coffee from the Nespresso machine and a GHD hairdryer. Every member of the staff I met was warm and helpful. The gym has ultra-modern equipment and was perfect for a full workout.

The only thing that would have made my stay better was if I'd had a park-facing room. The view from the window was a little sad as it faced an office building and a large wall.
