Very old house in the center, it means sometimes + and also -, with art deco interror mostly in corridor. Beds has small curtain for emotionally and visual barrier from others, rooms relatively big but full of beds and mostly random and chaotic in numbers, toilets and shower in the room in form of small bathroom but really not very comfy and small. Reception has own app for users smith like "Goki" but not very friendly app. Breakfast and others staff is hard to say, not using f.e. luggage, laundry, kitchen ... but looks simple. Reception very small in corridor and hard to be there... Can't wait awesome, can't wait bad ..in the center ...

The staff were amazing, Lenny and the I think Spanish guy I dont know his name sorry you were great too but I was in a rush :((( they were assisting as best as they can. I really liked my Russian roommate as well, he was so kind. I now want to learn Russian :) Asian group were also very kind. :) also breakfasts are great. Also rooms are good, the location of the hotel is amazing, its a bit loud due to the street guys talking drinking beer outside in the centrum, but it was okay :) worth the trouble for the great location

When I was entering my room, the door was making a loud noise, waking everybody up :( I believe that was specific to my room, and I hope they can fix that in future. Also my bed (room 110, left top bed) needs a bit of care, it made noise whenever I lay down in bed

I’ve stayed twice at SafeStay Brussels and overall it’s a solid choice. The hostel is well-kept, secure, and in a fantastic central location—walking distance to attractions, shops, restaurants, and public transport. Staff member Jenny stood out for her kindness and professionalism. When a male guest mistakenly booked an all-female dorm, she went out of her way to find a solution instead of just turning him away. The dorms have privacy curtains, plenty of showers and bathrooms (two each in the 8-bed dorm), and free luggage storage for guests (€3 for non-guests). Overall: For a budget stay, it’s clean, comfortable, and safe, with a standout location and one exceptional staff member who made my experience memorable.

The hostel is not the most modern or spacious. The elevator and common areas are small, and the breakfast room has limited amenities—no sink or tap to refill water bottles.

Of course! 😊 The location was really convenient, only 5 minutes from the metro station and close to cafes, supermarkets, and a few major attractions. It felt safe even at night. The room was spacious for a hostel, with comfy beds, personal reading lights, charging ports, and secure lockers. Great atmosphere and super helpful staff too!"

If I had to mention a couple of downsides, the reception seemed a bit packed (space is not enough) when I arrived. I had to wait in a queue for a little while to check in too. It wasn’t a big issue, but after a long journey, a quicker check-in would have been nice. Also, during the night, the room was a bit noisy due to traffic sounds from the road outside & people outside. It might be helpful to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Other than that, the overall experience was still very good

The staff receives 5 stars. Everyone here is kind and adaptable. Cleanliness earns 5 stars as well. The lady who worked from 16-18 June did an exceptional job and deserves a raise. A USB charging point near the bed was a lifesaver. I forgot my charging block and didn't want to buy a new one.

The only thing that detracted from my stay was the lack of air conditioning. During the summer nights, it was impossible to sleep with the windows open due to the noise from drunken tourists and locals (located on the 2nd floor). Additionally, smoke frequently drifted into the room, even though it was on the second floor. Despite the cleanliness, the air inside was stifling. Consider installing air conditioning to improve the experience; it would make you the best.

Perfect central location! Safestay Brussels Grand Place is right in the heart of the action, just steps away from most of the city’s major tourist attractions. The convenience of having everything within walking distance is unbeatable. That said, the rooms are a bit compact, and being close to bars and pubs means you might hear some street noise, especially on lively nights like Fridays. We did encounter the sounds of partygoers, but since we were exhausted from exploring, it didn’t bother us too much. If you’re looking for a vibrant, centrally located spot to stay in Brussels, this is a great choice!

I booked the place for one night after midnight after my original accommodation had been cancelled by the owner. I found the bed nice and clean and comfortable and welcomed the curtains which ensure privacy. The room - although a dormitory for 10 people - was reasonably quiet in terms of other guests, and although the windows were open onto the street to have fresh air, it was very, very quiet. The place could not be better situated in terms of sightseeing etc., which was not my case because I travelled for work, but it felt nice and comforting to sleep in the heart of Brussels.

The ladder to the upper bunks were not comfortable.

Kind staff, easy check in. Comfy bed. I don’t mind the noise or light and can sleep anywhere, but it might be a bit loud as this is a popular party/bar area and might be loud throughout the night, so bring earbuds!

Not about the property, just wanted to complain about one of the room mates. Grown ass old Thai lady with bed C in a four female room, having a tantrum each time someone enters the room. Yells at others. Tells her to get a hotel if she can’t sleep with people as a resolution. Says no, continues her tantrum thumping the wall and heavily thrusting in the bed when people enter/ use the restroom/move in their sleep. People don’t have control of the noise if the door is heavy when we enter, or the noise of using the restroom, or moving in their sleep. 💀🤡

Location, cleanliness, comfort

The room for leaving luggage was not easily accessible as it was located between 1st and second floor, the lift was super slow and the stairs were narrow, making it difficult to carry the suitcase. Besides, unlike many properties, they requested fee for keeping luggages- which I would be happier to pay if they would give each traveler a code to ensure everyone will get their own luggages rather than not accepting any responsibility.

I loved that the room had a bathroom, there were curtains for privacy, a small fan, and a window that was able to be opened. The lockers were big enough for a small check in luggage and a small bag. Check in process easy, and easy to find it's location. It is in the city centre too. Felt pretty safe for a female solo traveller.

You needed a key for the locker but you can buy one downstairs (I did have my own, so bring one yourself. You can buy one downstairs). The ELEVATOR was scary to use, sometimes it was good to use but the buttons didn't always work, so I walked the stairs afraid I'd get stuck in the tidy elevator. No shampoo/soap, the staff were busy talking to each other during check ins (but I can't be quick to judge, unsure of what they were speaking about) . The keys to the dorms were Bluetooth, not sure how I feel about that. Also it is in the city centre, so at night the noise can definitely affect your sleep.
