Firstly, the hotel is in a fabulous location. The room itself was spacious with all the amenities we needed. Bed was comfy and large. Washing machine and dryer were great to have since we were there for 9 nights with a toddler and the separate bath and shower was also great.

We stayed for 9 nights and only had provisions in the room for 1-2 (e.g. washing powder, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper etc.). It wasnt really a problem as we could easily get more from the front desk, but it would have been nice to have been initially stocked up. Some furnishings were quite worn and needed replacing, but just a dining chair, so no real issue at all.

We have stayed in Avani Metropolis several times before and had chosen other options recently due to the tired looking apartments. However this time, we asked for a "fresh" apartment and they delivered. So we will try Avani Metropolis in future. The people at reception are mostly very helpful and friendly. However there was one bad apple...

We arrived after midnight and there was no one at reception despite ringing the door bell a few times. When the guy finally appeared, he was not friendly and not particular polite/professional either. This is not what we expected and needed after a long flight into Auckland.

Great central location, although it is a short walk from transport links, and on-site carparking costs extra (though is not as unreasonable a price as other central hotels). But if you do not mind a bit of a walk or will be being dropped off at reception, it is very much worth it for being close to so many amenities. Albert Park is a short walk up the steps, High Street and nearby Vulcan Lane has many eating options, and there are convenience stores nearby for supplies, or the metro supermarkets just a bit further. The room was large and comfortable, and the view was stunning (I was on the 28th floor with the harbour view booking option).

I had some confusion with where to go to check in, as I did not recognise at first that the reception for the hotel was on Kitchener street instead of underneath the main tower. An automated message from the hotel after booking to make that clear would have been appreciated. I used the hotel lobby stairs to go out to the area behind the restaurants on the ground floor but when I tried to re-enter that way later my card did not open the door, unsure if it was after hours (it was around 9pm) or I was always meant to go via reception, but it would have been nice to have a more direct 24h option rather than walking up to Kitchener Street.

This is my favourite hotel to stay at in the Auckland CBD. It's a great location next to Albert Park and Chancery Square within walking distance to lots of restaurants. Whether I'm just with my husband or we have our kids with us, the indoor pool, spa pool and sauna with views of the Sky Tower really make this place for us. Almost all the rooms have amazing views and some with balconies, as well as kitchenettes. It's always one of the more affordable options too.

I have stayed here many, many times before, but was slightly disappointed this time as it took a very long time to get hot water to our room in the morning, we found a notable amount of mold in the shower, and the toilet paper holder in the bathroom wasn't secure so the roll kept falling off.

Very convenient location in CBD with probably best layout in hotel apartment-like places we stayed. Having bedroom separate from the living room when you can close the doors in between was a game changer. I was able to sleep in while my partner was already starting his day. Bed was super comfortable and the view was epic! Living room had a comfy couch perfect for two and a table with chairs. The kitchen was quite big and even had wine glasses and bottle opener. And should I mention the inside the unit laundry! The pool was clean and had a sauna and 2 hot tubs. Absolutely will stay there again when in Auckland.

You had to pay for extra coffee, only 2 coffee pods were offered regardless of the length of your stay.

The entrance into this hotel is amazing and welcoming. I also loved that when I asked if I could get both rooms on the same floor, they did just that. We were able to check in early, which was a bonus. The views were beautiful from both rooms i had booked. Two bedroom suite was awesome, spacious with two toilets & bathrooms. Kitchen, washing machine & dryer. Everything you would want in your room. We stayed on the 29th floor, which was epic. We definitely will stay longer next time.

The one bedroom apartment we could hear all the screaming, yelling & chaos coming from the street. There was also a draft coming through from the sliding door, so it was a bit chilly cold at night. Nothing an extra blanket couldn't fix. The dryer would only go if we held the door. Just minor things, but I will definitely book again with all the facilities they provide for your stay. The pool was under maintenance.

Comfortable bed. Nice pool and outdoor spa with a view of the Sky Tower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and had everything needed. This was my second stay here. Highly recommend for couples or solo travellers. I wouldn't feel comfortable with my 5 year old staying o. the 30th floor with a door that opens with railing. But older children would be ok. The carpark was great value for money. Literally hopped into the elevator and went to the carpark floor and my car was right there. Well lit, secure carpark.

Peeling from the ceiling of the pool area(although I am assuming that they are doing some work in the area for a couple of months ish as they've put up a notice on their website saying it will be closed from the beginning of June). Nothing that really bothered me, but the plug was broken for the bathtub. It could be an easy fix. And I couldn't figure out how to cast my phone to the tv so watched everything on my laptop...not a negative because I didn't ask for help at reception, just difficult to work out on my own. Street noise gets a bit much with it being the weekend. Basically echoes up the building into the rooms....but to be expected with being in the cbd.

We loved the accommodation’s central location, making it easy to explore Auckland city. The facilities were excellent, with a pool, spa, sauna, and gym. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the front reception staff were efficient and helpful. The convenient onsite parking made it easy to take day trips around Auckland. Highly recommend!

We were provided with one room key, which made it a bit tricky for my partner and I to leave the unit separately, as the key was also needed for the elevator. While we didn’t request an additional key, it wasn't mentioned during check-in.

Quiet. I was upgraded to 1BR, which was very complete. Nice little kitchen, cozy living room area, small comfy bedroom with both heavy and light curtains. It’s also got long term residences there, so it feels pretty quiet. Not like a regular hotel. Adjacent to the lovely Albert Park. Easy walking distance to Sky Tower, and everything that the downtown has to offer. Nice balcony but balconies on the front of the building may have a better views. Pool was excellent for lap swimming. Decent sauna. I didn’t use the gym.

Outside my balcony was another building with a fairly noisy central AC unit operating on the roof. Not overly bothersome.

I had booked a small apartment. From the balcony, I could see the SkyTower. The kitchen had everything you need for cooking: plates and cooking utensils.... There was even a small dishwasher. There was also a washing machine and dryer in the room. The bed was very comfortable, and you could heat the room nicely warm.

There were occasional signs of wear and tear in the apartment. For example, the toilet seat slid when sitting on it, or a few drawers were slightly crooked. But these are really just minor things that I noticed. Since I didn't book any services, I also didn't know where to take the trash.
