The hotel is situated in a very convenient location at the heart of central Wellington, opposite the cablecar station. The front desk staff, particularly Ashwani and Pallavi, were outstanding. Nothing was too much for them in helping us with everything we needed from luggage to taxis, from sightseeing tips to local restaurant suggestions.They were exemplary. The restaurant was quite acceptable without winning any florets and the staff were excellent here too, always ready with a smile. The room itself was very comfortable and well appointed.

The air conditioning control was poor in our room. It was far too cold and could not be adjusted by me or any of the staff. A portable fan heater was brought in but this did not work either. The maintenance man was trying to be helpful but he ran out of solutions. The following day another attempt was made to get the aircon to work by the staff. This failed so another fan heater was brought in which was so noisy that it would have kept us awake all night. In the end we turned it all off. This simply should not happen in a hotel of this standard. Hence the lower rating for facilities and comfort. Management should sort this out.

The property is located right in the heart of Wellington. Easy to walk around and get to restaurants and shops around the corner. The rooms are spacious and clean and they have decent food options. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely good for the price we paid.

The car parking lot, as is in any big city, is definitely a challenge. There were many nights where we would circle around in the parking garage to find a spot that is reserved for the hotel only to park in a randomly open spot. We would then take pictures and notify the management so we wouldn't get towed. The parking also closes at 830pm so you have to get out and punch in a code to get in the garage after hours. Small but important detail to be aware of.

A quirky little hotel in the centre of Wellington. If coming by car, plan your arrival carefully. Check in parking is limited and manoeuvring tight. There are permanent parks adjacent on a first come first served basis but availability seems OK. It’s characterful and charming, and the staff are excellent. Our King Room was spacious and well appointed. There is a small quiet bar and restaurant. We had the included breakfast which was good value. The hotel is set amongst many restaurants, cafes and bars, and is close to the waterfront. Again, I commend the wonderful staff!

Check in parking is a bit tricky

Location amazing. The hotel was lovely. The welcome cookie and the complimentary goodies in the room were great. It was great value and a perfect location

It was a hassle getting in and out of the car park from the hotel. A staff member had to walk over and open the door because they didn’t want customer swipe cards opening the doors. We also had to knock on the glass door several times to get back in from the car park. There was no bell. There were always other people at reception so we had to knock several times or wait to be let out. You were never sure if someone heard you. It seemed a bit Mickey Mouse

The Doubletree in Wgtn exceeded my expectations. I am familiar with Wellington having lived there for many years, so knew that the location would be a winner anyway. I liked the decor of the hotel which I found to be very well thought out and carefully designed in relation to the use of space. The colour scheme was tasteful and beautifully coordinated, and the lighting was cleverly placed - as were the light switches! Power plugs in exactly the right place. No noise whatsoever, despite being on Lambton Quay, Wellington's main street. And the bed! I enjoyed a fabulous nights' rest and the bedding felt luxurious. I loved the bathroom, too. Fab fittings, great shower, great lighting. The body wash and body creams were Crabtree and Evelyn. My skin still feels marvellous, even though it is days since I used those products during my stay. The whole property felt great and welcoming and stylishly adult in tone. A nice touch was the complimentary bottled water, cheese and crackers packet and the Whitakers peanut slab. Great snacks when you haul into your room from a long journey, Sorry to sound gushy, but I hadn't been here before and was astonished to find out how much I had been missing. Sorry that I can't comment on the restaurant as I dined elsewhere with friends. Extremely well done, Doubletree Wellington. I enjoyed myself and I will be back.

Can't think of a thing, to be honest.

Everything. The bed and its linen was AMAZING. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good and there was a discount. The food was good when we ordered room service. It was very clean and the location was excellent. We hardly left the room. Also the rate we got the room at for our 2 nights was really good for this lovely place The welcome cookies were really nice. It was out first time staying in a place like this and we felt welcome and comfortable. It wasn't pretentious or cold. We would definitely stay again.

Parking was confusing, if it was stated that parking is in the HSBC tower then this would have been helpful. The water whilst showering was not hot the initial 2 days we were there. A microwave in the room would have been awesome.

The room was spacious and very comfortable; the bed was stand-out feature. Location in the centre of shopping and business area. Standard noon check out was appreciated.

The booking website was a pain. It asked for time of arrival and went to 01.00-02.00, which we selected as scheduled flight arrival was 11.45, but a computer bot kept telling us we could not check in that early. Only sorted when a family member went into the hotel to sort it out.

Location beautiful vintage looking building.

Spoilt by housekeeping trolley with dirty plates in hallway dirty laundry bags vacuum cleaner just unsightly especially walking out of room run into this sight. Was there from.morning until at least 6pm when we went out for dinner. Plus its the Hilton branding not good. And H&S Fire risk blocking hallway. Main entrance: the brass plates on the doors were filfthy marked need to pick up the cleaning game. Not a good look at all and I have stayed at several Hilton properties!

The street noise at night and early morning but that is part of staying in middle of city and out of the Hotel control Breakfast was nice but for a vegetarian very little choice for hot dishes. Would be nice if there was other choices of milk, I did ask for oat milk for cereal and I got a small jug which was great, couldn’t get a nice coffee as coffee machine only had normal milk which was disappointing for someone who loves morning coffee, I had to go out to cafe for coffee. More preserved fruit also would be good, only had peaches

Fantastic location! it was very central, secure and within easy walking distance to shops and eateries The Supermarket, McDonalds and Cable Car were across the road. The room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the modern bathroom with rain shower! The internal access to a secure car park was very convenient too. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary warm cookies were a lovely touch!

Just very minor - hair dryer didn't work and no water cup for the iron
