The hotel smells divine! Lovely professional staff. Everything modern and stylish . Great location! We honestly had a great time. Will be back!

Nothing really, I think the ventilation in bathroom could be better

My wife has been very poorly over the past year and is still recovering so when I was travelling to attend a conference and she and our border collie came with me. The staff team at the hotel were, without exception, very welcoming and friendly, greeting us with smiles and asking what they could do to help us settle in. They couldn't have been more accomodating, helping me get our luggage in and helping me find parking and giving our dog a tasty snack and lots of pats and attention and making us all feel at home and relaxed. The brilliant service continued when we ate in the bar area and at breakfast the next morning when the team were welcoming and friendly, recommending places to visit and to walk the dog and bringing dog bowls of water and a sausage for breakfast for him too without being asked. The facilities at the hotel are great, our accessible room was brilliant and the bed and room was large, well laid out, comfortable and very relaxing. And it’s a cracking location too within easy walking distance of the centre of Liverpool. But for us, the brilliant staff team were what made our trip a real standout. As we left and said our goodbyes both my wife and I said we wished all hotels could employ staff as good as that. They are an absolute credit to the hotel and to Liverpool. The most dog friendly and friendly hotel we’ve stayed in. Highly recommend!

Really brilliant hotel, lovely decor, clean and great room facilities.

Breakfast was horrendous. We left after 1.5hrs because the food still hadn’t arrived.

Within easy walking distance from the station. Perfectly situated for exploring the fabulous city of Liverpool. Lots of places close by to eat and within easy reach of all the main attractions. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. All of the staff were very friendly, attentive and keen to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It is disheartening how people just discard their litter. Along the river side there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the view but nowhere near enough bins. This does not excuse the general laziness of people. Such a shame 😞

The Halyard is about a 5 minute walk from Albert Dock and round the corner from a lively nighttime area with lots of restaurants and cafes. The building still smells faintly of new carpet (v bouncy) and cut wood. Standard bedrooms are small but extremely well designed to maximise the use of space. Bed linen is comfortable and the aircon works. Fresh milk in the fridge. The ground floor bar and restaurant becomes the breakfast area next morning and offers excellent coffee. A chef is on hand to rustle up a hot breakfast on request. Bar staff the previous night were lovely and made a mean martini. We left our cases behind the reception desk when we went out for a morning explore. My husband then held the car outside the hotel while I went to the loo - on returning, I found the receptionist already walking our bags to the door (she had spotted me coming in). So impressed.

There's nowhere to lay out a suitcase in the room - it's the bed or nothing. And the recommended parking lot (hotel discount for advance booking) is easy to find - once you've already been there.

Everything from checking in to departure. The only rude people we met were the cleaning staff. We always interact with all members of personnel whilst staying at the Lowry Hotel, Manchester (5*), or staying at a Premier Inn. They are always polite and respectful. At the Halyard, they were rude (getting out of the and getting into the lift) they would simply push you aside. It is such a shame as this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Every other member of staff was so professional and extremely pleasant. We have already recommended this hotel to at least 6 or 7 friends/family members. We give this hotel a 5* rating. We cannot wait to go back.

Several large dried food crumbs on the floor in the room and dust under the bed (had been there for more than a couple of days) Room and bed were quite compact (furniture etc was designed to match the space though) Duvet only just covered the bed (wouldn’t have worked for 2 people) Stayed Friday and Saturday night (Sat eve loud music was heard from outside past 2am so I had trouble sleeping) This is not the fault of the hotel, but guests should be aware of the good and bad regarding the location

The hospitality was exceptional. Staff are all so lovely. When I’d forgotten an item in the room after checkout, staff immediately looked into finding it for me, which was most appreciated. Beds are super comfy, will miss the brilliant nights sleep I had in them! The room was clean. Location was perfect and ideal. We didn’t eat there but the restaurant looked nice. Really well designed room & the shower was just amazing!! Just one of the other many things we shall miss.

Not sure if you stay there for just two nights you don’t get your room tidied?! However I do understand that we came on a weekend where it may have been busy. Was just a shame we had to ask for tiny things like loo roll and tea bags, but staff were quick to help. We also found the heating system tricky to use and ended up being very warm during the night. Nevertheless, these things would not stop me from staying again. It was a superb hotel. One of our favourite stays in Liverpool!

The room was lovely really nice decor, comfy bed, clean & quiet. The location was great easy to get to shops & attractions. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Had lunch on arrival which was not good.. tofu sandwich thing which was basically fried bread a slice of tofu and piece of greenery.. no flavour. Chips were nice. Staff in restaurant very friendly but it was very slow considering there was hardly anyone else there. Paid in cash and we were given a handful of 10p pieces for 4.50 change?! They could not get any other type of change it seems so we said we would pay by card instead.. took ages. Put us off ordering breakfast which we had out. Otherwise the bar area is lovely and staff were nice..
