There’s a different activity every day at the hostel, which creates a very warm and friendly atmosphere. In terms of location, it’s far from the city center and not within walking distance, but there are bus and tram stops nearby. There’s also a cheap supermarket right at the entrance of the hostel building that’s open 24/7.

I stayed on the top bunk, and the edges were extremely dusty. I had to take a wet wipe and clean all around my bed, otherwise it would have triggered my allergies badly. The showers are made with curtains, and they don’t fully close — you can be seen from the outside.

I had such a great time staying at this hostel! Huge shoutout to Htoo – he has such a warm and fun personality. Game nights and parties were way more fun with him around. He was super friendly, always ready to help, and honestly just really fun to talk to 😁 If you ever see an event hosted by Htoo, go for it – he brings great energy and makes everyone feel welcome. He’s someone who can truly lift the whole atmosphere. Also a big thanks to Suleyman – he was incredibly respectful, kind, and always made sure everything was spotless. The bathrooms and common areas were very well-maintained thanks to him. The kitchen was fully equipped with spoons, forks, pots, pans – and even free salt (at least during my stay 😄). Laundry room was spacious and efficient, with two washing machines and two dryers – great for longer stays. The price is fair, the vibe is social, and if you meet Htoo, you’re in for a good time. Highly recommended. In the end, I’m giving a positive review because of Htoo – he made a real difference in my stay. Thanks to him, I had some of the best memories and even made a few friends at the hostel.

There was a small incident during my stay where I felt uncomfortable due to how I was treated by one staff member. I wrote an email about it, and while the hostel responded quickly and offered a kind explanation and even compensation, I still felt a bit unsure about how the situation was handled. But I truly appreciate their effort to listen and respond respectfully.

Absolutely exceeded our expectations! We stayed in a private room with two beds. It was small but had everything we needed, and the high ceiling and a big window made it feel cozy and more spacious. The toilets and showers on the 4th floor were really clean and comfortable. The kitchen was clean and well equipped and the staff were all super nice and helpful! The hostel is located a bit further away from the city center, but has great tram and bus connections and the airport bus stops nearby as well. There’s also a 24h supermarket in the same building, which was really convenient. We will definitely come back!

loved the service again. Once a month I have to stop over on a trip and to rest it's great. I have no complaints, but there are some terms I don't understand or maybe I don't know if it's allowed. For example, in the rooms, lights on, dinner, computers, cell phones, noises after 11 at night when the person is trying to rest. I think the common areas are for that and the room for sleeping or resting. Today I'm going home without having slept at all. Private area, women's bathroom, there should be more control over who enters. This morning I couldn't shower because there was a man brushing his teeth with a girl and she hid him in the shower until I left. But the place is very good. I have no complaints about the quality, prices, service, location, and attention of the staff. Thank you.

The weather was particularly hot but they had fans in the room. They had lots of space in the common areas plus all the needed services: breakfast, laundry, kitchen, dinning room, saloon….

They needed some ventilation in the rest of the hostel. And it’s a bit away from the centre but you can download the HSL app, in there get the ticket for the number of days you are gonna stay in Helsinki. For the hostal and centre grab the AB zones ticket but if you wanna include the airport make it ABC. 3 days for zones ABC were 24eur and it includes trams, buses and ferries, you are gonna need a ferry to get to Suomelinna(a must in your first visit). Mind the private ones, I ended up paying 4.6 just for not asking before boarding.

The price is right. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. There's a direct airport transfer bus that has a stop right near the hostel plus other bus stops/tram stops close by.

Incredibly humid everywhere in the building to the point where it was unbearable. The rooms are generally dirty with dust just swept under the beds instead of being cleaned up, and smell musty because there's no ventilation. The rooms are small for the standard 18-bed set up. Every common room is crowded-even the kitchen at 2am has people milling around.

The hostel was really cheap compared to other hostels or B&B's in Helsinki, so I must confess that I had not expected this hostel to be this good. CheapSleep exceeded all my expectations. The places was big, but the rooms and beds were clean and also not as noisy as other reviews suggest. Also nice staff organizing a lot of activities. Personally I loved the table football tournament. :-)

For this price I can't complain too much about the hostel itself. Only the location was not ideal. It was quite a walk to the city center, but okay, I was so stubborn not to want to take public transport all the time. Unfortunately the breakfast was not included in the price.

Bus goes straight from the airport almost right to the hostel. Nice staff, cosy place. I didn't use the kitchen or showers but everything was clean and seemed to be in good condition. No complaints at all.

Not a complaint, just a suggestion. My roommates put all their luggage right in front of the lockers in the room so I couldn't use mine. It was late at night so I decided not to wake them up because of that, but it was very upsetting. Maybe it would be a good idea to put some sort of a sign on the lockers to remind people not to block the way for other guests.

A very affordable place to stay in Helsinki. It is not in the city centre but very well connected by public transportation. The area is however nice and authentic, and there are grocery stores, some nice cafes, and flea markets nearby. The hostel has everything you need but since it's huge and there are many many people, it lacks vibe. The shared kitchen and bathrooms can get crowded at peak times and you might need to wait for your turn. However, there are some socializing activities arranged by the staff and volunteers which give some opportunities to meet people. The wifi works well but it's public, w/o password - maybe useful info for those who need to work remotely.
