Beautiful 1952 design, skillfully renovated. Rooms are not super big, but the public spaces are spectacular period design. Especially the light fixtures. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice breakfast on the top floor with great views of the city.

Some rooms have an „interior view“ onto a department store. We changed rooms once we realized.

You cannot beat the Original Sokos Hotel for its location, the atmosphere and staff. Location is a few minutes from the easy to navigate Central Station.The atmosphere of the older styled building really attracted us.The friendly and helpful staff were great. The buffet breakfast is a great start to any day. We had a queen room balcony upgrade and really made use of the balcony in the evening. We loved the in house sauna and wouldcome back for that alone.. The summer weather was superb and we were able to walk our sox off visiting the city.

The balcony had a butt bin which had not been emptied and was not emptied during our 4night stay. This was disappointing however we did not raise this as an issue. I wish Hotel bathrooms made some provision for hanging a few wet clothes for overnight drying, travelling with a limited wardrobe is quite hard and to have somewhere, other than the back of a chair to hang things would be great.

Fabulous hotel. Centrally located, easy to get to on the train from the airport. A short walk to many of the landmarks in Helsinki. The hotel is beautiful& the staff are very friendly & helpful. The hotel sauna is lovely too. We loved the breakfasts , it was so nice to have some traditional Finnish food along with the more common hotel breakfast items. The restaurant is gorgeous with amazing views from the balcony. We spent new years eve at the hotel, watching the fireworks & eating wonderful food. We even got a downpour of snow!. I love Helsinki& will definitely return to the sokos hotel.

Everything was perfect!

Location was superb as it was in the centre of all the tourist attractions, shops and transport. The hotel was in the department store and it had 24 hour super market so we could go straight down to get our essentials. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very efficient too. Good variety of breakfast selection and the restaurant was on the top floor so it had a nice view. Room is roomy and view was great. We enjoyed it very much.

Road can be noisy at times as the location but they provide ear plugs which was very thoughtful!

The location of this hotel is excellent. We took the train, and the hotel was easy to get to because it was close to the station. The proximity also helped us reach all of the popular points of attraction on foot. There were many cafes and restaurants around. The room was spacious and wide. Beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The design and style of the hotel were nice and pleasing.

There were many guests. It's a bit crowded during the check-in and breakfast hours. Breakfast times were quite noisy, but there was a decent selection of food available. The food display area was small and limited according to the number of guests staying there. Queues for coffee or fruit juice negatively impact guests' experience at the hotel. There were no slippers in the room. The noise of heels could be heard in the middle of the night from the upper floor due to the parquet flooring.

I appreciate the service staff offered us our room when we arrived an hour earlier to check in time. All staff were friendly and helpful. Luggage storage was very useful, so we could pack a small bag and visit Tallinn for 2 days then return to collect luggage. We get 10% discount at Sokos departmental store downstairs. Great location just opposite Central Station, with nice shopping malls, restaurants and supermarket. Breakfast hall was huge! And with nice food and beverages! The decor nicely related history of the Olympics in 1952.

Location is fantastic, nice and quiet, amazing views, cosy atmosphere, safe and above all else, the staff!! They are incredible, I cannot thank each and everyone enough. I contacted the hotel a bit before my stay to ensure what I was booking had the view I like, with a balcony room. Whilst understanding it’s based on availability, I was looked after and taken care of. Staff make or break a business, and the staff definitely made this my favourite trip to Finland (I’ve been 7 times before). I want somewhere that felt like home, somewhere comfortable and somewhere I can always return to and I finally found my go to hotel. I will be back!! Thank you to every staff member who corresponded and looked after my stay, I’m forever grateful!

I must say I didn't expect the room to be big, even though we booked a family room. I could even open all my 3 large suitcases on the floor when I did the packing before we checked out. It is unfair to rate the breakfast as this is the last hotel we stayed for our 15-day trip. The spreads for BF are the same as the same hotel, and we already lost interest in the same old item. The location location location... please do not need to take a taxi from the airport.. the railway station is just right opposite the hotel. The tram station is right outside too about 5 mins walk. There is a 24-hour supermarket right below the building, but pls ask for directions from reception.

The toilet is abit old, the extra bed needs to be more comfortable.

The buffet breakfast was wonderful. It had tons of options, including fresh fruit, and some vegetables. While I am not vegan or gluten-free, I noticed they had those options available. The hotel sauna was top-notch and well-maintained. Being so close to the train station was helpful on several levels. I used it often as a landmark to get back to my hotel. Even even shopped, the department store connected to the hotel, and I’m not a frequent shopper. Also, I was on the eighth floor, and it was extremely quiet at night and early in the morning which helped with sleeping.

I was a little concerned that there are so many entrances to the hotel that it might lack proper security to the room floors. I never experienced any problems. You do need a key card to activate the elevator to the floors and there are cameras on the room floors

Everything! The location was exceptional of course with a wonderful grocery store just downstairs. The hotel is convenient to anywhere you’d like to go. The breakfast was most phenomenal. The staff was endlessly friendly and helpful. This hotel is again right across the street from Helsinki Central Rail Station so we caught our train with such ease. We traveled as a family with a teen and the family room worked perfectly for us!! You won’t be lacking for anything with this hotel.
