Location is super convenient. We walked everywhere as there were many shops/restaurants/cafes nearby. The Sky Tower is accessible directly from the hotel which was a huge plus. Staff were very friendly and super helpful. Room service was adequate.

Room cleanliness was shocking! We booked a twin double room but you can tell it was designed for a king bed. We moved one of the beds and found food crumbs and what appears to be a fake nail on the carpet. To be honest, this was really gross.

It was clean and the staff were super friendly,location was great. The breakfast was amazing!

Not much coffee in the rooms and you have to fill the jug up from the bathroom tap. Also if you want a drink of water, again you have to fill from the bathroom . It would be nice to have bottled water in the fridge.

Always fresh crisp clean sheets. Place is clean and tidy. Was a good price for 3 adults!

A little disappointing this time. Hope this isn't the standard due to 'Covid' which is becoming the norm reason for business these days. We have always enjoyed our passed multiple stays at skycity hotel. A bad smell of stale janola/ cleaning product that filled our room. Not sure if it was coming from the air conditioning or the drain plugs in the bathroom. Could be abit more generous with their milk for our coffees. Given only enough for one coffee for your stay. The room was quite cool at the further end of the room when lounging on the couch or sitting at the desk. The fan wasn't working to turn this off on the air con.

Only hotel we stay in when coming to Auckland. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Casino and bars in the same building. Shopping at Queens Street and entertainment for kids at the Civic center a short walk away.

When using new check in/out kiosks, they need to have someone overlooking. What I learned - Choose 'credit' on eftpos machine when paying from a debit card or your card will decline. When checking out at kiosk, it will charge you again for your stay. (The receptionist explained that even though your bank account shows a visa hold, apparently you have to pay again to confirm the payment.) The refund on your room bond takes a while (days) to return to your account.

After being in a cramped cruise ship cabin for 65 days, the room and bathroom was spacious. The coffee station, refrigerator and safe were nice to have and enabled us to eat breakfast in our room. The location was excellent and easy to find right next to the Sky Tower. It was a beautiful hotel.

Housekeeping was inconsistent, but overall very nice to have since daily housekeeping is not provided in the United States anymore. We needed to but plug adaptors and a power strip for our U.S. CPAPs, which is no fault of the hotel, but electric outlets near the bed were not adequate for our needs.

The breakfast was yummy. Location was key. Housekeeping team were lovely as was the lady at Check in. The Concierge when we checked our Aidan I think his name was gave us exceptional Customer Service.

When we arrived to check in at the concierge desk was very unwelcoming and rude. I first said hello and she said ‘are you checking in’. I again said hello and she said the same thing. Are you checking in. I understood I was by mistake at the wrong counter however a Hello how can I help would have been far more welcoming than her reaction. Sky City sets a high standard as I expect so this lady needs further training before she should be at the front desk. Hotel hallways needed vacuuming. It would have been nice to have hand towels and the shower heads in Rm 224 need maintenance.

Location, handy to so much. super clean and the cleaners were super helpful with our needs. Gym was so clean and equipment was on.

Check in. I didn’t realise we had to pay a $300 bond. My card had recently been cancelled due to fraud so the bank blocked that card so I did not have a physical card only paywave which they couldn’t accept. I had to get cash out at an ATM. Not sure if it was the language barrier but trying to sort out the parking was a headache. I repeated where we were to park x2 to then get there and could not find where to park because reception told me H2 when it was P2, however took us a long time to figure out it must be P. I think the lady checking us in just wanted to get rid of me

Unfortunately the first room we were put in was not as clean as it should have been. When reported to reception they made every attempt to remedy the situation immediately which was very reassuring, but despite their attempts the issues were still not corrected, and yet we were inconvenienced all the next day waiting for it to be done. When reported a second time, the receptionist and her manager was very supportive too and upgraded us to a better room, which was AWESOME! It was squeaky clean and simply just better. I was very grateful and that made every difference to my stay. By the way, I never actually complained. I just asked if when they clean the room the next day, could they concentrate on specific areas. I did have photos but didnt show them until the day after when it actually was not cleaned the second time. Totally appreciate how the team worked hard to make us feel better and the extra efforts they went through.

We went for NYE with our kids (8-14yrs). I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming the hotel felt - travelling with a large family, you get looks - but there were lots of typical kiwi families, which helped me relax. Staff were down to earth. Nice touches with ‘hotel guest bands’ for special entry. Good carpark rate too. We did 3 Skycity attractions too. Expensive, but basically essential being right there at the heart of it. So budget for it!

Hard to find family/budget friendly dining while there. Mostly due to it being New Years - a few places closed. The hotel courtyard was locked at 8pm. Would’ve been a perfect safe spot to see 2025 in, and wish there was a pool!

We enjoyed the family components of the room and the location for the purpose of our trip - Sky Tower, SeaLife and Zoo + the food options were excellent in house and nearby. We liked the convenience of parking on-site and the entertainment options within the facility. The staff were all super nice and we felt well cared for. The Master bedroom was super comfy and the TVs had a good selection of channels. The kids plates were a great addition as well as the toys. We watched my husband jump of the Sky Tower from our suite window!

We provided some feedback to SkyCity Hotel about ways the room could be improved for families a bit more and hope they take it onboard (Thinner pillows for kids, dining area for family, more NZ kids books, etc.). The in-room menu could be extended a bit more (although was pretty good). There was banging upstairs above our room each morning we were there from about 6am (over the weekend too). The floor in the shower was slippery and the water pressure wasn't great, which was odd.
