The hotel was lovely, great position, nicely decorated and quiet. Staff were helpful and nice.
The food! The dining room where breakfast is taken is very dark and gloomy. The coffee was undrinkable, No Greek/plain yoghurt, no granola, fruit salad looked very unfresh. The jams/marmalade were synthetic. However the croissant was good. Moving onto the ‘gastropub’, nice atmosphere and good drinks/wine but again the food was disappointing and VERY expensive for the poor quality and presentation. Undercooked chips just piled onto the plate and the ‘flatbread’ starter pretty inedible - like an old pizza that had been sitting around for ages.

Not corporate. Nice staff and easy to walk into central Dublin. Huge comfortable bed and quiet room.
Food was ok and cooked well enough but the menu is limited. Most concerningly we had a slight smell of damp in our room. Didn’t make an issue of it as we were largely going to be out however I was woken up early on our last morning to the sound of dripping. Persistent rain outside (It’s Dublin, no complaints in that front), was leaking into the room from the ceiling edge above the window frame. This was soaking the carpet (so now we know the reason for the damp smell). It just avoided soaking one of cases with clothes in. The leak is probably relatively recent as the carpet would otherwise have been in a worse state. Staff were really apologetic and I have no doubt they will resolve. The receptionist did say she would inform her manager who would be in touch….lets see.

Gorgeous property with incredible history, great location, an experience for all to enjoy especially having the pub on site, was convenient and an experience in an old world building. The breakfast and dining area was a highlight we felt like royalty and would happily do this every day if we could, the food was delicious.
Unfortunately we received a phone call late at night from a male manager about some shoes being left in the hallway near our door and asking us to remove them, it didn’t feel very nice as our baby was asleep and we were all woken up by it. Maybe this incident left a bad taste in our mouth. We did pass this feedback on to the property. U understand it was against a policy they had but it was the way it was communicated to us that wasn’t courteous. The rest of the service was amazing. Can’t fault the restaurant staff and the lady at reception Tina she was lovely and helped us with anything we needed. They charge for room service fees by the way, 8 euro to have anything delivered. We didn’t know this until we received the room service bill.

Schoolhouse Hotel is perfectly situated to walk to the city centre or access buses and the Grand Canal DART station. It's a leafy oasis next to the lovely canal walk down to the lively Baggot St neighbourhood. We loved the unique Old School Gastropub (and its shady garden on a fine day), while appreciating the quiet of our newly refurbished, comfortable room away from traffic noise. We did not take the breakfast option but there are loads within a 10 min walk, and we did enjoy an excellent lunch and dinner. The Hotel is immaculately clean, and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. A great value in Dublin!
A small refrigerator in the room and an ice machine on the Floor would save one having to go all the way to the Bar to get ice (but the servers were always helpful and accommodating)

Amazing staff, beautiful hotel in a great location, amazing food for dinner. Thank you, Lorena, Tina, and the lovely staff in the restaurant / bar on Monday evening. I had not been to the Schoolhouse since I lived in Dublin, and I had never stayed overnight since I lived relatively nearby. It was an anniversary / invite to the Embassy for the 14th July event we were invited to - when you are parents, you tend to bundle up occasions to spend child-free time! 😉 We got a lovely note from the hotel and chocolates for the occasion, and we were delighted. The food was as good as I remember. I had the black sole, and my husband had lamb. It was absolutely delicious. The dining room / bar area is beautiful, and since it was a weekday evening, it was relatively quiet, in a good way, for a romantic dinner. Many thanks to you all! I look forward to coming back again.
Breakfast was in line with what others charge in Dublin (which I personally find expensive in general), but the yoghurt there was locally sourced, and the juice and Danish pastries were tasty.

The Schoolhouse Hotel is a very lovely location in the heart of Dublin. Really nice set-up that made us feel welcomed the minute we walked in! Great bus connection to the Airport as the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Every sight of Dublin is walkable in 30 Mins. - pubs, restaurants, shopping and parks as well. The Restaurant is also very nice with a great menu and drinks - breakfast included. We would book this anytime again when visiting Dublin - absolutely reconmended!

This hotel was absolutely delightful and surpassed all our expectations. The location was perfect, centrally situated and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Both the restaurant and hotel facilities were exceptional, and the staff truly made our stay memorable. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for, as if we were visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. Every team member we encountered was knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist with our questions and requests.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is in a great location. The room, while lacking character, was warm, clean and had good amenities. We had dinner in the gastro bar the evening of our stay and the food was excellent.
The decor of the room we had was a disappointment as it lacked the character we had expected. We have stayed at the hotel in the past when the rooms were furnished/decorated much more in line with the rest of the hotel (foyer, bar, etc). The breakfast was also disappointing. The continental breakfast on offer was small and lacked the variety one would expect from a hotel of this calibre. We felt somewhat shoehorned into ordering the hot breakfast which was extra.

We were truly impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the hotel staff. They went above and beyond to make our birthday celebration special by leaving delightful chocolates and a heartfelt note in our room, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. The bar and restaurant were also excellent, offering tasty food and a wide range of drinks, all reasonably priced for Dublin. Free parking was also a massive bonus. I have booked a return visit.
Nothing.

Very quaint. It has a ton of character. The rooms were nice and it has free parking, which was key. They have about 10 spots, but they never seemed full. They give you old school keys for the rooms. You have to turn the key in every time you go off property. The bar/restaurant was great and also has a ton of character.
It’s not in the heart of the city center, but it’s close enough. The bathroom is small, but they did their best to maximize space. I recommend bringing your own hair dryer because there’s is mounted to a drawer in the desk. It was very hard to use because you had to stretch the coil cord towards the mirror while also pressing the power button to keep it on. I have very thick, curly hair, if I finally gave up and threw my hair up in a bun.
