Front Desk staff was amazing and very helpful (Simon, Samary, etc.), Loved the design of the Executive room # 520 on the 5th floor, the modern furniture, lighting controls, the wood and marble accents, super comfortable King size bed similar to USA size (unlike many that are actually Queen sized by USA standards), Dyson hair dryer (WOW!!), Commercial Nespresso Coffee Machine in the room with regular and decaf pods (creamer packs in mini-fridge), Electric tea Kettle, plus an assortment of cocoa, instant coffee, tea, and and Irish shortbread cookies. Walking distance to Trinity College and the National Library of Ireland and many cafes/pubs.
Had a minor hiccup trying to get dinner at the onsite Carriage restaurant and had to eat elsewhere but it wouldn't keep us from staying there again.

the hotel provided a more elevated experience than what I thought it would. the staff were excellent, the condition was modern, clean, spacious (in the main areas and the room). I felt like this is an exceptional value for the price. the hotel is located in a very walkable part of the city, easily accessible to public tranportation, resturants, and attractions
overall no complaints. of note the gym facilities are located in their sister hotel, around the corner. I did not end up using them as I was busy enough with vacation plans, but good to know if you are someone who frequents the gym during hotel stays

I cannot rave about Diego and the rest of the team at The Alex enough. From start to finish they were nothing but friendly and welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, including a personal email and call from Diego when our room was ready to check-in, and courtesy hot drinks from the cafe bar on check out for our morning around Dublin - completely unexpected but such a kind and memorable touch. The hotel is in a great location - close enough to all the action but the hotel itself is relaxed and quiet. The rooms are modern and very comfortable and had all the facilities you could possibly need for a night away. I had stayed at the Alex in February 2023 and had a great experience then (hence the return) but after this second experience, which again was fabulous, I will always look to stay at The Alex when I visit Dublin and will (and have!) recommended the hotel to others. Thank you to the whole team ⭐

The check-in was super simple and after traveling for so long we needed super simple. The staff at the desk were always very friendly and helpful. The beds were absolutely the most comfortable beds (at a hotel) that I've ever slept on.
There were a couple cleanliness opportunities that I came across. When we went to use the water kettle in our room it had pieces of something in it. I tried washing it out, but never felt good enough about using it. The drains in the bathroom seemed to have an odor coming from them. When we used the shower the odor wasn't as bad, but when the shower had not been in use for a while there was definitely an odor that stayed in the bathroom. None of that was obviously a deal breaker for me, but I would say that does need some attention.

The location - the property - the people - this place is a gem for the price . The entire staff is incredible all the time
They didn’t provide enough towels and even when I asked for more (which they brought in seconds- it was fantastic ) when they cleaned the room we were down to 2 again. The didn’t vacuum the room all week. They said they change the sheet every three days and I don’t think they did all week. The shelves were dusty and the sink had a dirt “rim”. However - with all the said the place was still somehow clean.

I stay in Dublin regularly for work and when possible I stay at the Herbert. The location is very good for the AVIVA and just 5 min drive from St Stephens green. Rooms very comfortable and the staff are very good . The outstanding part here is the Breakfast. First thing in the morning looking out on Herbert Park but more importantly the Breakfast is what you always remember an Irish Breakfast to be...Haffners sausages and all... Too many Hotels closer to town do a semi streaky fatty or over cooked bacon and sausages with Herbs or the consistency of putty ...or mushrooms drowned in black pepper. Keep it up Herbert park.

We got a 1 bedroom suite and it was spacious and clean. We only used the executive room while waiting for our room to be ready and it was pretty and comfortable. The bathroom also was nice and clean for the most part which really takes the cake for me.
The closet space was a sad aspect. We needed to open up our suitcases (we have a baby) and required shelves for that. The shelves provided were not enough. There were seemingly moldy parts around the shower area which need to be maintained better.

Very close to the city center but really quiet. Nice breakfast. Really comfortable bed.
There is no way to set A/C to over 20 degrees - so it's either too cold or too hot in the room. No spots to hang towels/clothes outside of the bathroom so nothing dries up with the Irish weather. One of the fuses in the fuse box was falling almost every time when turning on power in the room and the staff advised us to just turn it on every time.

Our room was good. Bed was huge and comfy. Mini bar didn't work, but staff rectified it as soon as we told them. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions around town etc. Chips in the restaurant were excellent (hand cut ones)
Hotel was very expensive. Breakfast was very ordinary buffet style. Quite disappointing. Meal in the restaurant also solid but not great (and for the charges it should have been great)

The hotel has an amazing location and even more amazing staff! From our very late check in, trough the restaurant experience until our check out, everyone was very helpful and nice. The staff's attention is one of a kind. The whole ambiance in the hotel is very cosy and they have a great restaurant.
The room did not really have soundproofing, the doors are very loud and you can hear everything from the corridor or other rooms. But it's okay with earplugs or for good sleepers.
