This is a beautiful hotel in the perfect location with a fantastic array of restaurants, bars and shops and of course St Mark’s Square literally footsteps away. Our room was very spacious and absolutely spotless with a view of the Bridge of Sighs and the canal. The staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were welcoming and really helpful, as was the porter who showed us to our room. The breakfast staff were fantastic and the breakfast buffet was delicious, well presented and had everything that we wanted. The bar was quiet but that suited us and has a friendly barman who makes an excellent amaretto sour. The garden is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting with our drinks watching the Gondolas go by. I would highly recommend staying here.

Everything! Venetian features, large and roomy, clean, wonderful views, central, easy access.

There is not much not to like about where we stayed. The brekky staff were helpful and friendly, really lovely. How-ever, I must say that the host staff or service desk attendants gave off a veiled air of “contempt” :{ I didn’t get the impression that they really liked their job? They more tolerated our questions…which I’m sure they’ve heard hundreds of time before…& feigned interest when we would try to engage them in conversations. They were polite and very helpful in the end. Overall a perfect location to see Venice from and the room we stayed in was gorgeous with a memorable view of the Bridge Of Sighs!

The hotel is very conveniently placed. Near St. Mark’s Square but down a small quiet calle backing on to a canal.A good hub for walking to every district & to vaporetto stations. Despite its proximity to some of Venice’s major tourist spots ( the city was still jam packed in mid October)our room was quiet & adequate for our needs. It is quite small and functional with no public spaces apart from a breakfast room, bar & downstairs garden- but for us that wasn’t a problem.There are many good( and some poor) restaurants within a few minutes walk. Housekeeping was excellent with fresh bedlinen and towels as required. An issue with the shower was sorted quickly once reported. The usual gripe about insufficient hangers for 2 people but plenty of shelves and drawers. The breakfast buffet was fine; fresh fruit and breads and pastries & some cooked items ‘though these tended to sit in a ‘hot’plate and weren’t always hot.Service was quick if you wanted to get out, or accommodating if you wanted to relax & dawdle. Staff were friendly & helpful.

A place to cherish as gondolas come and go in front of the lounge. As we stayed on the 5th floor, we got our own jacuzzi to stare at stars and at the venetian horizon. Spectacular!

The property is so well situated, a couple of minutes walk from St Marks square. It has a beautiful terrace on the canal where you can get fabulous cocktails from the lovely bar staff and a pretty 2nd floor bar area. We didn’t see any other hotels with a similar outdoor space. Our room had a balcony overlooking the canal where you can watch the gondolas go by. Absolutely a special hotel and wonderful staff special mention to Stephanie on reception who helped with all my queries but all the staff were fabulous and couldn’t do enough, thank you.

The only thing I think could be changed is the breakfast tables and chairs. They are very small and soft and being a tall person were too low for me to be comfortable, but this is a small thing and I can’t fault the rest of the hotel or staff, it was a wonderful stay.

We were a 4 minute walk to St. Mark’s square. About the same to all the water buses. Breakfast was plentiful with great variety. Room was very clean and was serviced every day. We were in #48, a junior suite. Big room with a reasonable view of the Bridge of Sighs and canal. Using the street address on our maps app. Gave us a better hotel location. The patio bar was wonderful on a sunny day!

Only one thing that could have been improved, the hot food for breakfast was usually cold by 9:00.

Location excellent, the royal suite had superb views and was a large space. The American breakfast was well stocked with lots of options.

The check in experience wasn’t overly warm. The reception staff were surly with one older gentleman in particular being rather rude and confrontational following us requesting for the bath to be fixed (the plug socket wasn’t working correctly and couldn’t be closed, and a piece had also fallen off). The royal suites location was a little odd opening directly onto the breakfast and bar lounge area, with audible music playing until midnight. This information wasnt available at the time of booking. For the price point I’d expect a pod coffee machine as opposed to instant coffee sachets.

Exceptional service, staff were very friendly and helpful. The cocktails on the hotel terrace right on the canal were amazing and the food was delicious, we missed breakfast on the last morning and they gave us a little takeaway box for our journey. The location was perfect and so close to all sightseeing spots, the bridge of sighs can be seen from just outside the hotel which is an amazing sight. The taxi boat service to and from the airport was an unbelievable experience.

We stayed one night at Hotel Donà Palace, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is centrally located, just a stone’s throw from St. Mark’s Square, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Venice. Our room had a charming glimpse of the canals, adding to the Venetian atmosphere. The restaurant was beautiful, and the breakfast was absolutely scrumptious, offering a great start to the day. The staff were exceptionally friendly, providing helpful local tips that enhanced our stay. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome. Overall, a wonderful stay in the heart of Venice—highly recommended! Ciao! 😊

Location is sensational. The outside courtyard is brilliant - having a coffee/wine/beer as the gondola's go by is just surreal. We could not get the water taxi to or from the hotel due to the high tides, but if we could have done that - we would give a 12/10 !! The rooms were lovely and breakfast was outstanding ! The staff were accommodating, professional, courteous and very helpful. We absolutely loved Hotel Dona Palace
