Breakfast was very good, nice selection, loved the croissants! Quiet but very near city centre, also bus stops near by if needed. Great light fixtures in the rooms, and the complimentary Moxy drink was tasty and refreshing Loved how pet friendly it is.

I didn't find the room small, but I would have liked some cupboard space... it was such a nice restful place, but having to hang clothes in plain view and have your bags strewn around made iit seem messy.

The staff were really friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, loved all the games available at reception, and that it is dog friendly (although we didn’t bring our pups on this occasion, we definitely will in the future). We had a slight issue with the sink in our bedroom but when we shared this with a member of staff, this was seen to straight away with 5* service and smile.

A great stay in the heart of the city. Loved the chilled vibe of the place and experienced some of the friendliest service I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. They offer options for breakfast, grab & go or full buffet. The room was comfortable and the 12pm check out was a welcomed bonus as it gave us time to sleep in and still explore the city. The entire hotel was clean and smelled great. They even offer a free welcome drink and multiple places to unwind downstairs. All in all a great stay. Thanks Moxy team.

No car parking option at hotel. We found a parking garage 5 mins away but being able to unload the car on site is always preferable.

Great location, only a few minutes walk from the centre. Fun, modern decor in the lobby. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Light and bright. Minimalist with no clutter. I asked for a quiet room and it was. Compact but perfect for a night or two. Reception/bar staff are welcoming and friendly.

If I am being picky, bathroom is on the small side but fine for a city break. Carpet in the bedroom - a personal preference - it looked clean, but I prefer hard flooring. No bottled water in the room and the water in the bar was canned. Nothing that would stop me staying here again.

The hotel, facilities and staff were fantastic. The location was really nice too, not far from the main attractions, but not too close so noise was not an issue. I was quiet surprised by the prices at the bar, the cocktails were a little expensive but the 'standard' drinks were pretty much the same as most bars in the area. A special request for the room was also fulfilled just by messaging them via this site. The actual price of the hotel was pretty decent, considering the usually inflated costs of staying in York.

I can honestly only complain about 1 thing - the bed. The bed was soft, I don't mean 'I am used to hard beds and it was soft', no. It was WAAAAY too soft. The back and neck pain was real and not an ideal way to start the day.

Moxy is in walking distance of all attractions in the city and the train station. The local area is quiet. For the believers, Moxy is next to one of the most haunted pubs in York! We weren’t disturbed by any potential hauntings lol. The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside, smells amazing and is spotless. There are games for children and adults alike, as well as a free arcade game (not the VR in photos. Added accidentally and can’t delete it). Lots of nice little touches, Photo Booth, umbrella rentals, snacks, drinks, food for pets, kitchen and bar serving until late. Breakfast was fantastic (apart from the bacon and the bread) there was loads of choice. Also, kids 10 and under eat free. Rooms are very neat and clean. Fresh towels every day. A lovely hotel that I would definitely stay at again.

At breakfast, the bacon was like glass. Hard and dry. I don’t know how it’s being cooked but that needs changing. Some of the bread was mouldy. Staff wise, most were absolutely lovely and really helpful. One or two didn’t seem like they had appropriate training beyond serving at the bar. One young lady in particular sprayed cleaning solution over our breakfast whilst cleaning the table at the side of us. When I spoke with her, she couldn’t have cared less. I saw her a number of times over our stay spraying cleaning fluid into the atmosphere whilst people were eating, rather than spraying it into the cloth. Everything else was absolutely perfect.

WOW Moxy Hotel is amazing I can only speak as I found it. I chose it as it looked quirky, modern great location in York. It didn’t fail to deliver, absolutely amazing. The rooms are modern, the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The staff are so friendly and go out their way to help you. Breakfast is a great choice you won’t be disappointed, seating area around the bar is spacious and immaculate. I would recommend a stay here without a doubt, I will be booking again! 100% outstanding!

There are no wardrobes but hangers to hang your clothes on that are pegs on the wall. This wasn’t an issue

This was our first time staying at a Moxy hotel, and we just wanted to share how much we truly enjoyed the experience! One of the main reasons we chose your hotel was because it’s dog-friendly—and we’re so glad we did. The staff were incredibly welcoming, not just to us but also to our dog, which made our stay even more special. We especially loved that we could bring our dog to the café area during breakfast. That thoughtful detail really stood out to us. We also really appreciated the variety of card games available for guests. It was such a fun way to unwind and spend quality time with my partner in the evening.
