I had a truly wonderful 5-day stay at The Moorings. From the moment I arrived, Iselin and her team made me feel incredibly well cared for. There was a small issue with my room at check-in, but it was resolved immediately and with such kindness and efficiency. It really showed how much they care about the quality of the guest experience. The whole team goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is beautifully done: tasteful, warm, and full of thoughtful touches that make it feel like a home away from home. The location is also exceptional. Just steps from a peaceful park and a stunning beach, perfect for long walks, and close to the quay where you can take a refreshing dip at any time. It’s also easy to get around. I used the local buses without any trouble, and taxis were always available. The food is excellent, and the oyster happy hour is a definite highlight. All in all, a fantastic stay. I’d love to return. Thank you for everything.

What a wonderful place, such friendly people! Although that does seem to be the case all over the island… Gorgeous view of the bay, fantastic staff and a great restaurant. The Sunday roast was most notable, great fish dishes and excellent signature Scandi breakfasts, all served with care and smiles. Oh, and the barrel-smoked negroni… world-class! The harbour area is gorgeous, but very small - no supermarket, grocers or discos, just a few gift shops, restaurants and hotels (of which Moorings seems by far the best), but very well connected by inexpensive and frequent buses, so that’s not really a problem. I feel relaxed and refreshed, and can’t wait to go back!

The location is fantastic, situated overlooking the lovely Gorey Bay. The restaurant is absolutely amazing and deserves its first class reputation, so much so we decided to eat here every night. The breakfast too offered a really good array of options and tasted delicious. The owners gave a personal hands on service and the team behind them are friendly and efficient. All of them are amazing we particularly observed Seth going the extra mile with his observant, professional and friendly manner and the lovely lady from Kenya with short hair (I think she’s called Virginia) who worked in Maddies and housekeeping who quietly worked hard and nothing was too much trouble.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food and drink offerings are some of the highlights at the Moorings. There is an attention to detail, such as providing fresh milk for tea in the room, and sunhats and umbrellas to borrow (both needed in Jersey!), that is unusual in a small hotel. Having the onsite yoga studio, which I've used previously, and the newer therapy room, with the fabulous Emma providing relaxing massage and treatment, is a real bonus. Having an aperitif or meal on the terrace, overlooking the harbour and bay, is unbeatable. It's perfectly located for regular buses into town and elsewhere, and proximity to other restaurants and cafes (though or a short stay, the Moorings provides everything you'd need). Swimming off the rocks at the end of the parade, with Gorey Castle above you, is magnificent and one of the few places in Jersey where it's possible whatever the tide, and for those who prefer sandy beaches, it's a short walk to Long Beach (Grouville Bay). The rooms are comfortable but fairly basic in decor.

Very small niggle: the Birchill's tea isn't up to the standards of the rest of the food and beverage offering.

Such a special place, located on a scenic small harbor right under a medieval castle. The charming owners could not be more warm and welcoming, and the staff all seem to make an extra effort to give personal attention to guests’ needs. (Thank you Nina for ensuring we had a great visit!) The room is tastefully appointed, bedding is very comfortable and robes are provided. The included breakfast is incredible and we enjoyed the restaurant for dinner. Savoring a drink in the sun on the patio at the end of a day of sightseeing is a great way to relax. We hope to return.

A stunning boutique-style hotel rich in culture and charm. The property was impeccably maintained, blending modern amenities with timeless elegance. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of either the castle or the sea. The breakfast was exceptional, offering a delightful start to each day. All the staff at the hotel were so attentive and went above to ensure all of our needs were met. However, the highlight of the stay was the transformative therapy session with Emma at Prana Health and Wellbeing, who was so lovely and which truly made the experience magical!

We loved the friendly and family vibe in the hotel, where all of the staff were extremely welcoming, going out of their way to make guests feel at home. The room was spotless with a very comfortable bed, and lovely refreshments. Location was beautiful - looking out over the harbour with gorgeous views out to sea. Food was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner - and although upmarket in terms of prices, the quality of the food absolutely justified this. Beach towels were provided which was a nice touch and there is a lovely swimming spot a 1 min walk away. We would love to return and would highly recommend this to anyone!

We can’t fault this hotel at all. We were informed on arrival that the top rooms get hot in summer, but a very powerful fan was provided in the room so this wasn’t an issue at all.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. From the incredibly warm welcome when we checked in to the beautifully decorated and comfortable hotel room. The breakfast was so good with a lot of variety and the restaurant for an afternoon drink overlooking the water was a perfect way to end the day. The staff all made you feel like you were a friend, and their family dog greeting you in the foyer was an extra special touch, I cannot say enough about this hotel. If you are travelling to Jersey do yourself a favour and stay here, you won’t regret it!

There is nothing I could complain about.

This was my third stay at The Moorings. I love the sense of calm and relaxation that is present from check in onwards. The restaurant food is outstanding, even by Jersey standards which are generally high. Staff are all so friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel for its wonderful setting on Gorey pier as well as the reasons mentioned above. I look forward to returning soon.
