The onsite Lone Star bar and restaurant provided a good range of food options for the evening meal. The staff were provided excellent service and professional. Car parking onsite is a bonus but availability is limited and it is only suitable for small cars.

The breakfast provided in the onsite Lone Star restaurant was adequate but below below par compared to other similar hotels.

Location is great and ideal - premises is on a slight incline due to being located on a hill. Room was a good size with a king bed and a spacious bathroom and shower.

The car park is a very tight fit and very limited. The car park to the lobby was a little bothersome, especially if you have more than 1 suitcase as you have to take stairs to and from, into the lobby then the elevator to your floor. Unsure if just the location of my room, however there was always a noise of what sounded like a massive bucket of water being splashed out onto the ground and could hear other hotel occupants beside and above the room. The TV channels were very limited as well with no apps to stream Netflix etc, although them being "smart TV's "

The most amazing staff and customer service I've ever experienced, beautiful rooms, so clean and cozy and they even made sure our rooms could open to each other as we traveled with our kids Nothing was a hassle for them, so so helpful and friendly They even came outside to help us find the carpark building and guide us inside

Was hard to find in a vehicle but we did arrive incredibly late so it may be more open during the day I'm not sure And just wish there was more milk in the fridge, need 4 little pottles to make one hot drink

The staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly and accommodating, they really went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay. Thank you so much to the team at reception/reservations. The rooms were extremely clean, well appointed, and modern. I picked the hotel based on location and ratings and it did not disappoint! I loved that you can take the lift down directly into lonestar for dinner (it was freezing outside when we stayed so this was perfect).

The one and only thing I didn’t like was we had a wheelchair accessible bathroom, but there were absolutely no shelves in the entire bathroom and shower for my makeup, accessories or face and body products. The sink was tiny and only fit my toothbrush and toothpaste. As I said it’s a minor but worth noting.

The staff at the check in counter that morning was amazing. I was attending a conference and check in was later in the afternoon. I was able to check in early, refresh and head out to the meeting. As my husband was staying in the room for a couple of hours after dropping me off and needed to take a work call before driving back out to Hamilton, the staff waived the parking fee which is a daily charge since we were only using it for a couple of hours as a gesture of goodwill. This is the highlight of my stay, absolutely amazing customer service, and just such a great human being! He went above and beyond to make my stay seamless. This is in addition to the fantastic bed, the spacious and spotless washrooms, the lovely view of the city and just overall convenience to access the Auckland Uni campus, and plenty of food spots around.

The one thing that could be better was space to drive out of the parking lot- we've a SUV that found it challenging to exit because the space is a bit tight.

The staff were all lovely! Super accommodating and friendly. They were very helpful at assisting me to get in and out of the garage carpark available on the premises. The room was very comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in it, as well as all the friendly faces! Checking in and out was very quick and I felt like the overall experience was very enjoyable and positive.

The building doesn’t seem to be soundproofed, and the noise traveled easily! so if you’re a light sleeper things like the hallway and plumbing (flushing the toilet, shower etc) will wake you. I had someone snoring very loudly in the room next door! This was the only part of the stay I didn’t enjoy. None the less, the hotel itself is a wonderful accommodation.

Great Stay with Excellent Service I and a friend recently stayed here and had a great experience overall. The location was ideal, close to plenty of eating options, and conveniently near the City Link bus stops that travel to the Britomart end of Queen St. The hotel itself was clean, modern, had all the facilities and well-maintained. The only hiccup was the room configuration: I had booked a twin room, but it was initially set up with a king bed. That said, the staff were very responsive and resolved the issue promptly, which we really appreciated.

The location was decent, situated on the far end of Queen Street but only about a 10-minute walk to the main street and bustling areas. The room was compact for a group of four but manageable. Parking is available, though spaces are limited, so it’s a good idea to reserve in advance or use Wilson Parking just around the corner. One recommendation: Make sure you check the Tikka‘nTalk fast food shop around the corner, they have really good unusual but must try food!!

The biggest disappointment for me was the breakfast—it lacked fresh and healthy options. To be fair, during our travels in New Zealand, we found that this seems to be a common issue, as most of the hotels we stayed at had similarly underwhelming breakfast offerings. That said, it’s something that could definitely be improved.

As soon as we walked in we had a warm greeting, helped us with everything we needed. Room was nice and tidy when we arrived. Beautiful view from the 7th floor. Joint with lone star which was very handy for meals.

When we asked for the room to be cleaned by cleaners (as we were about to leave) they were happy to do so.. once we arrived back.. we were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The bed wasn’t properly made, it was like how we left it. But..the main problem we had was no rubbish was taken away. So shopping bags/boxes etc that was left next to the bin wasn’t taken. Just made the room look messy. We were just happy that towels were changed.

We stayed for a single night & really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, comfortable & clean. We also thought it was really quiet, for being on Queent St. We also like the proximity to a range of eateries. We would happily stay here again.

Parking - is a bit awkward when you arrive as you have to park over the footpath until you're let in. I requested a car park at the time I booked & received what I thought was a confirmation email the day before. Upon arrival it appeared that the car park wasn't arranged (I was told I needed to reply to the confirmation email to book the park - there was no request in the email to reply) however, the staff did sort a park for us. The car park was a good price for Auckland.
