Excellent motel in a top location - lakefront, walking distance to Eat Street and the gardens. Super-helpful staff with lots of info about attractions available. Nice heated pool, trampoline, BBQ area, and hot baths. We stayed in "Stella's Suite" and enjoyed the space and fixtures (WM and dryer in the suite). We appreciated the eco-focus and generous amenities. Physical and service design were well-considered.

A few floor lamps in the living area would have helped the ambiance; ceiling downlights were a bit bright. The bedrooms were more serene with comfy beds, lamps and throws.

We stayed here for two nights in a studio apartment. Room was large with a small kitchen and eating area which we used for breakfast. We enjoyed the 'hot spring' bath at the hotel (there were two private ones). On the first time the room had a VERY bright light from their wifi router but they quickly fixed this when we asked if the light could be turned off. This is a family hotel so if the sound of kids playing in the pool (which all rooms overlook) then this is not the place for you. Good location - a close walk to the lake and "eat street".

I would say the communications from this were good; but too frequent - multiple messages about 'why are we coming to Rotorua' etc. When we finally got an email from them about the after hours check-in process I missed it as I was sick of seeing so many emails from them so we then had issues getting into our room; and there was no answer when we called the after hours line. Reception closes REALLY early also.

We realy loved our stay here. The apartment was well equipped, we had everything we needed in the kitchenette. There was a complimentary bottle of local fresh full cream milk in the fridge and local good quality coffe was provided. The apartment could be heated by the aircin or geothermal heating, we preferred the latter for for the cooler evenings and mornings. The bed was comfortable, linen was good quality. Everything was spotlessly clean and the selective bins were emptied and new towles were provided daily. Our apartment was on the groundfloor but it was quiet and the sun shone through the windows in the morning.The accomodation is in a very good area of Rotorua, walking distance to the center and just a step to the lake boardwalk, busstop and village green. We enjoyed our walks in the morning there. The check in was smooth, they provided contactless checkin and checkout outside of business hours.

We loved everything.

Location was central and close to Eat Street where lots of restaurants are located, as well as the waterfront and park. Easy access to redwoods, geothermal area and Maori cultural experiences. We appreciated the kitchen with refrigerator and fully stocked dishes. The beds were very comfortable and parking space just outside the room was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful! 😊

The shower was not contained enough and almost fully wet the bathroom with each use. The sink area had almost no space to set toiletries.

Exceeded every expectation. So many additional little bonuses such as a trampoline, bikes to borrow, a BBQ grill, heated pool, private (to the hotel) mineral bath, super friendly staff who checked in often and left a bottle of wine to help us celebrate, fantastic location within walking distance to many shops and eateries. Love the environmental consciousness- you have an option to forego room service and they will donate to charity for each day that is skipped. It is heated with the natural water. Had anything you might need in the room, so thoughtful. Just great!

Location is great and the staff were exceptional. The location is walking distance to the lake, and shops.Very well set out with information on everything from the name of plants to where to eat. Environmentally conscious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. There is a pool and hot tubs. A barbecue and a cooking steamer which looked cool, but we didn't get time to try that.We would stay here again.

Be mindful that some rooms are up a flight of stairs, which are exposed to the weather.

Excellent location, huge room with all the facilities. They provide a bottle of milk a day, which is very good, the milk is local. Is there no breakfast? But there are a lot of cafes and restaurants very close by. Very close to the lake. Very close to everything interesting. There is a large swimming pool. Two swimming pools with thermal water. The staff are excellent, polite and helpful. They can make reservations for everything. So I advise anyone who wants to go to dinner at the Maori village to contact the hotel in advance.

Th motel was in a very good location, across the street from a grassy area, close to the lake and short walk to Eat Street with many restaurants. The room was large with a good size kitchen and table. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and provided information on things to do in the area. The facility had many amenities including a heated outdoor pool, barbeque area and thermal hot pools.

The motel itself is older without many upgrades but very well-maintained and clean. As such it is a good value.

Nothing not to love about Aura. Handy to Eat Street, Wai Ariki Spa, heaps of off street parking, awesome staff, free wifi, pools are great and clean. Love their sustainability kaupapa and promoting local businesses (the milk and plunger coffee are the bomb). The rooms are clean and tidy and comfortable . Very reasonable pricing for 3 adults for 2 nights. Very accommodating as we almost had to postpone due to weather I Highly highly recommended to anyone visiting Rotorua ❤️

Free parking. Good location, could walk to the night market and main street for food. There was a pool but it was usually filled with families. We didn't realize it was a 3 day weekend school holiday. Staff was great and we liked the fresh milk everyday. Also liked the washer dryer onsite, though needed to pay. Good maid service and fresh towels.

The mineral springs were not hot enough so not relaxing for us. Probably good for kids. This is a motel with car park right outside your front door so it can be noisy at night.
