We stayed here for two nights in a studio apartment. Room was large with a small kitchen and eating area which we used for breakfast. We enjoyed the 'hot spring' bath at the hotel (there were two private ones). On the first time the room had a VERY bright light from their wifi router but they quickly fixed this when we asked if the light could be turned off. This is a family hotel so if the sound of kids playing in the pool (which all rooms overlook) then this is not the place for you. Good location - a close walk to the lake and "eat street".

I would say the communications from this were good; but too frequent - multiple messages about 'why are we coming to Rotorua' etc. When we finally got an email from them about the after hours check-in process I missed it as I was sick of seeing so many emails from them so we then had issues getting into our room; and there was no answer when we called the after hours line. Reception closes REALLY early also.

We realy loved our stay here. The apartment was well equipped, we had everything we needed in the kitchenette. There was a complimentary bottle of local fresh full cream milk in the fridge and local good quality coffe was provided. The apartment could be heated by the aircin or geothermal heating, we preferred the latter for for the cooler evenings and mornings. The bed was comfortable, linen was good quality. Everything was spotlessly clean and the selective bins were emptied and new towles were provided daily. Our apartment was on the groundfloor but it was quiet and the sun shone through the windows in the morning.The accomodation is in a very good area of Rotorua, walking distance to the center and just a step to the lake boardwalk, busstop and village green. We enjoyed our walks in the morning there. The check in was smooth, they provided contactless checkin and checkout outside of business hours.

We loved everything.

Location was central and close to Eat Street where lots of restaurants are located, as well as the waterfront and park. Easy access to redwoods, geothermal area and Maori cultural experiences. We appreciated the kitchen with refrigerator and fully stocked dishes. The beds were very comfortable and parking space just outside the room was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful! 😊

The shower was not contained enough and almost fully wet the bathroom with each use. The sink area had almost no space to set toiletries.

Exceeded every expectation. So many additional little bonuses such as a trampoline, bikes to borrow, a BBQ grill, heated pool, private (to the hotel) mineral bath, super friendly staff who checked in often and left a bottle of wine to help us celebrate, fantastic location within walking distance to many shops and eateries. Love the environmental consciousness- you have an option to forego room service and they will donate to charity for each day that is skipped. It is heated with the natural water. Had anything you might need in the room, so thoughtful. Just great!

Loved everything.

Excellent location, huge room with all the facilities. They provide a bottle of milk a day, which is very good, the milk is local. Is there no breakfast? But there are a lot of cafes and restaurants very close by. Very close to the lake. Very close to everything interesting. There is a large swimming pool. Two swimming pools with thermal water. The staff are excellent, polite and helpful. They can make reservations for everything. So I advise anyone who wants to go to dinner at the Maori village to contact the hotel in advance.

Th motel was in a very good location, across the street from a grassy area, close to the lake and short walk to Eat Street with many restaurants. The room was large with a good size kitchen and table. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and provided information on things to do in the area. The facility had many amenities including a heated outdoor pool, barbeque area and thermal hot pools.

The motel itself is older without many upgrades but very well-maintained and clean. As such it is a good value.

Free parking. Good location, could walk to the night market and main street for food. There was a pool but it was usually filled with families. We didn't realize it was a 3 day weekend school holiday. Staff was great and we liked the fresh milk everyday. Also liked the washer dryer onsite, though needed to pay. Good maid service and fresh towels.

The mineral springs were not hot enough so not relaxing for us. Probably good for kids. This is a motel with car park right outside your front door so it can be noisy at night.

Aura Accommodation is run by enthusiastic and dedicated women who have created a really welcoming place. The pool is kept at 36 degrees C (ca. 90 degrees) and from what we witnessed, offered both a relaxing soak for older guests and some fun (floating basketball net, etc) for younger ones. We had Room 10, with an ample parking space right outside the front door, a private terrace with no overlooking windows with its own hot tub (of which we made full use), a living space with large bed and kitchen, a bathroom plenty big enough for two, and a separate twin bedroom. This was great for us (an older couple) because we hate sharing the covers! Eat Streat (Restaurant Row) is only two to three blocks' walk, and there's a wonderful cafe (Lime Cafe) on the same block. There are two mineral baths available on-site with privacy doors and availability from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., if I remember that right. What I liked particularly about Aura is that they have a very real commitment to sustainability. There are bins in the kitchen for waste separation, you are encouraged to recycle your welcome materials and you can opt to forego daily service and instead donate $5 a day to either education or environmental work. The staff are always ready with good local information and a cheery hello. This is not a posh place, but it's homelike, supremely welcoming and down to earth. My husband and I loved it.

I wish there had been some way to put a bedside table next to the twin bed in the separate bedroom, but there was a good reading light over the bed and all I had to do was remember to grab my earplugs (I wear them habitually, we were not bothered by any noise) before hitting the sack!

Fabulously run. Every interaction with staff is a pleasure. Five star hotels should take note of how well this place is run and take note. They provided helpful suggestions on what to see that my research hadn’t spotted. The redwood forest walk with night lights ended up being my favorite activity. Chloe called my international number when I didn’t respond to an email asking at about what time I was arriving due to poor WIFI to make sure my room would be ready upon arrival. Laundry facilities on site—NZ$8 for wash and dry with NZ$2 coins available at reception. Strong WIFI Simple but comfortable rooms. Very clean. Very central—five minutes walk to Tourist Office/Central Bus Station. Close to cafes; spas; restaurants. Practice environmental sustainability.

Aura accommodation is fantastic. Location is right in centre of town. Very close walking to Eat Street to have meals. The mineral spa inside was very enjoyable. Loved the warmth temperature of the outside pool. Fantastic. Most enjoyable. Laundry facilities were most useful. Lots of tourist information provided. Has steaming facilities and BBQ to cook. Our room had cooking facilities which was most useful for breakfast. Staff were amazing and could not do enough for you. So friendly and treated you like family. Used my name a few times.
