Fantastic stay, loved the proximity to Lambton Quay for shopping and the water front to Oriental Bay for early morning walks. We found the beds and pillows so very comfy - would defintiely stay again. Bus service on The Terrace very handy too as we were attending our daughters graduation at Victoria University, which dropped us right out the front. Full breakfast has many options (although at $37 per person can seem a little steep but believe this is the going rate for most hotels). Also like the 11am check out, that extra hour is much appreciated!
Didn't seem like the in-room aircon was that effective and having a few more power points next to the bed for devices would be good. Also the Prime Parking next door was quite tight with a height restriction of 1.8m that wasn't sufficient for the 4WD vehicle we had hired. In the end we used the Wilson parking attached to the James Cook hotel (approx 90m up the road) that has a 2.2m height restriction.

The room was quiet, no street noise, perfect temperature, plenty of room, staff were helpful. Shower was good pressure, robe in wardrobe and slippers, very nice touch. Good amount of TV channel options. Staff at check out were very good at customer service. Check out was 11am which is really helpful.
The first person on front desk (check in) didn't know how to smile and was a bit hard to understand (accent and quiet voice). The lunch menu options in restaurant on a Sunday were very minimal. These things did not have a huge impact and were really only minor inconveniences.

I appreciated that the hotel honoured my request to be close to/on the same floor as the family I was staying with. Breakfast buffet very good. Very thorough room service lady.
The TV reception. I had to call the serviceman twice during my stay to sort out the ongoing pixellation problems with my TV. The TV in my family's room also needed attention - they had to call for help too. I see below this box that because my email address is 'ianmac', you have assumed that I am Ian. I have an Accor registration for these bookings under my own name, 'Linda' - please observe this, thanks.

In general, the room was really good. I loved the bed; it was super comfortable. The location was great, quiet, and easy to access, Lampton Quay. There was a great selection at breakfast in the morning. The rooms were well laid out and quite spacious. Wish we stayed another night.
The curtains looked like blood stains at first, but that was just some questionable decor choices. It frightened my partner. Also the elevator from Lampton Quay wasn't the most fantastic first impression - it's seen better days.

Travelled with 2 little kids. There is a kids play area near the lobby which kept the kids entertained. Cooked buffet breakfast was everything we could have asked for! As far as hotels in the city go, we would definitely consider this family friendly. We also travelled with a large ute and wasn’t sure how we would go in the self parking, so paid the additional $40 to have the car parked onsite which included Valet service. Get in before 10pm and order off the dessert menu for room service. Beautiful food!

I was very impressed with Novotel Wellington from the start. There is a lift on the main street to get up into the foyer of the hotel, which is located on the street up, saving a 5-10 minute uphill walk, and the room itself was excellent. The size of the room was good, the bed was comfy, there were plenty of places to put your items and work from, and there was a good view out of the window. The bath was excellent and was very soothing. I've stayed in many hotels in recent weeks, and I'd say this was comfortably the best.
The only complaint I have about the hotel is that the guide section of the TV doesn't tell you what's on most of the channels, so if that's the biggest "complaint" about a room, you know it's good quality.

Super easy check in and check out. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We didn’t book breakfast but we walked through the restaurant to get to Lambton Quay, and it looked fantastic. We would definitely add breakfast to our booking in future.
Showers could probably do with an upgrade but the water pressure was great. The parking situation is interesting, especially with multiple suitcases and kids, but the city is pretty shocking for parking in general. Definitely not enough of an issue to put us off staying again.

Location for me was good and had a secure carpark and was close to the cook strait ferry which i needed the next day. Breakfast was buffet style - awesome stuff - i had far too much. The room was perfect for me after driving down from auckland, bed was great, no noise, no cig smoke coming in the room, comfortable and the room service was good. Overall - super happy - and had a good laugh at the valet parking trying to drive my car into the carpark - i drove it out myself not wanting the clutch to get cooked :) they joys of a track focused car, not really nice to drive for a street car.

Nice hotel, the lift to Lambton Quay was very convenient and the 2 options for parking were great.
We had to pay a bond of $1200 for a 5-day stay and then at the end of the stay, the hotel wanted to deduct another $1250, and the balance would be refunded within a week. We thought it was a bit ridiculous to take a $1200 bond!! We never had to pay a $1200 bond anywhere we stayed between 5-7 days. Maybe something to look into as this will probably be why we never book there again. I know they have to make sure there are no damages, but for us as a family, it was a bit far out. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had no view of the sea as shown in the pictures on bookings.com, so that was a bit disappointing.

The bed was awesome. I slept like a queen The shower was awesome, too. The location was close to town , we could walk to a lot of places which made having a few drinks easy. Parking was confusing. We didn't know we could park right out front of the hotel and unload , also to be given a parking discount code.
There was a kettle and coffee available to make coffee in the room , but only the place to fill the kettle was in the bathroom sink... I was uncomfortable with that, so I avoided doing it.
