Communication was so efficient and pleasant. The apartment was SPOTLESS.. gorgeous soft white towels and excellent bed linen. House keeping daily!! The shower had very good power and lots of hot water. Same for the excellent washing machine and dryer. ... There was a cute " SMegg " fridge and I loved the high ceilings. I particularly loved how they kept the old building features , especially the tiles on the bathroom. Easy instructions and directions... Absolutely fabulous location , in the central city ,off a quiet pedestrian street.... 2 mins walk to ferry fir Praia de Faro... and 1 mins to restaurants and cafes and wall of old city. ... Unfortunately, there was noise from the construction building next door but it ended by 5 pm, starting at 8.30 am. It was not Senhol Gigi s fault... just a fact of life !! ...Overall,it became a little refuge for us after a busy day... Thank you Maddalena and Senhor Gigi.

Lovely, large, traditional, stylish property with fridge, hairdryer, kettle and large comfortable bed. Water, tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits provided. Lovely bathroom with good, hot shower. Juliette balconies with double doors from bathroom. Excellent location in the middle of the old town and right next to the ancient walled city centre. Hosts were remote but were instantly available by phone. Excellent value for money. Lots of information is sent prior to visit and a handy map with hotel recommendations was available at the property entrance. We really enjoyed our stay.

The parking, although free was very crowded and it took ages to find a space. In the end we didn't use the car we hired for fear of not being able to park again. The car park is a 10 min walk from the property over fairly rough streets. I Messaged the host and got no reply, although they did specify WhatsApp, so make sure you ring or use WhatsApp. I had to ring at 3 pm to gain the code, which was supposed to be messaged to me and they are not flexible on arrival times, which is fair but inconvenient as we had a very early flight.

Everything was super - location, cleanliness, facilities......

I did have a problem getting the access code to my room when I arrived. I didn't receive the documentation to be completed and submitted until I actually arrived at the property. I then had to wait almost an hour for clearance? As a female travelling on my own, first time in Faro, this was not a good experience. It ought to be possible to fill out the required documentation for Portuguese authorities at least a day in advance? Once travel has commenced, it is not always possible to deal with emails!

Senhor Gigi is a magical place that captures the personality of Faro. It has a charming ambiance. Our room had doors and windows that opened to provide a view of the lane below with its cafes and shops, framed by leafy tree branches. Tucked away on a charming Faro lane, it never felt loud as we drifted to sleep. It has a great location with winding lanes full of shops and restaurants and an 8 minute walk to the harbor.

I wouldn't change a thing. We stayed in 8 locations during our 2 weeks in Portugal, and Senhor Gigi was our favorite.

Centrally located guest house. We did not meet any staff but the check in instructions were emailed and were very clear. We also received a Whatsapp message so the owner could be contacted if needed. I did need to contact the owner on the morning of check out and got a quick reply. The room overlooked a narrow street and was very quiet but only a short distance to shops and restaurants. The owner provided a map with restaurant recommendations. Bathroom facilities were good, and room was very clean. Would definitely consider staying again if visiting Faro.

Fantastic location in the centre of the city. Beautiful old building but with modern fixtures and fittings. Maddelena was super friendly and helpful via text and email. Very efficient and quiet air conditioning/ heating. It was cold in Faro in January at night and we were really cosy in our room.

Nothing Steep stone steps wouldn't suit people with mobility issues. With windows open, some street noise is people walking past, bin lorry one morning. Nothing bad and almost no traffic due to very narrow cobbles street. Birds in the trees sing loudly in the morning!

Room is in a great location, you are pretty central to everything. It’s off a side street so it’s quiet enough by night. It’s in an older building which Is ful of charm. We never actually met the hosts but there was no need to as check in was very easy and there was great communication between us and the hosts via WhatsApp. Room itself was lovely and spacious and had its own bathroom . There was a little kettle and a fridge which were ideal for us, as well as a map of the city.

Though I did not meet the staff at Senor Gigi, Maddalena who was the main contact person, made excellent arrangements and I was able to check in late at night, as my flight was delayed. The room was very clean and it was good for a nights stay. There is a nice cafe across the guesthouse and the place is very conveniently located.

Since it is not a hotel, you don't see any staff and you have to communicate only by email or WhatsApp. But the staff responded promptly and quickly to any queries.

The location is amazing - right in the middle of Faro, with cafes, restaurants, shopping, etc, all in the doorstep, plus a short walk to the Cathedral and other sights in the old town. The room was great - loads of space, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. I’d definitely go again if I was visiting Faro again. Maddalena was very helpful over WhatsApp with details of the door code etc.

I didn’t realize that we would need to let ourselves in with a door code, then get the room key from a key safe. If I’d known it might have put me off, but it all went completely smoothly and was no hassle at all.

Senhor Gigi is a great place to stay. The messages from the host were lovely and they were quick to respond to our further inquiries. Late check-in was straight forward, the property is within a 10 minute walk from the train/bus station and the room was spacious and lovingly prepared, including some water in the fridge. As we were walking the Fishermen's Trail, the hot shower and excellent WiFi was very much appreciated, too. All around a fab experience - thanks for having us!
