We really enjoyed our stay at the boutique hotel, Bordalo Palace!! Our reception and check in went smoothly with Katarina!! She provided excellent information of the area restaurants, shops, historical sites, and points of interests. She even referred my wife to a nail salon and made the appointment for her!! The hotel offers a breakfast which was tasty/plentiful and the staff were very attentive to guests!! The location of the hotel couldn't be better, in the middle of the Chiado area with restaurants within close walking distance. Shopping is also within walking, if you can navigate hilly streets easily. Wonderful stay!!

Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have an elevator, which was challenging for my wife but doable. (Our reason for the 9 rating instead of 10) Since my wife is also a diabetic, it would be helpful to provide the option of renting a small room refrigerator for medications. However, the hotel allowed the medications to be stored in the kitchen refrigerator for our stay. Thank you!!

Such friendly staff for our short stay. We were met late in the evening and offered a drink with some great recommendations for a short stay. The hotel is in the perfect location, a short walk to the main sights, very central but a quiet little square with some great restaurant options. The room itself was stunning. Huge bedroom, with a separate wardrobe area and luxurious ensuite. If you look out the window to the left you’ll see the castle (lit up at night). For us breakfast was perfect, fresh pastries, eggs, fruits, yoghurt, granola and a few other hot options too. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

For us it was perfect.

The staff were very friendly. My favourite thing about this hotel is its character and size. I’m not keen on staying in large establishments, this is a converted section of a very old building and in total there are only nine rooms. Yes, it is old, and some noise travels, but the character really makes it worth the day. The rooms are gorgeous and very large, generous proportions. Despite the age of the building, the soundproofing of the windows and shutters are quite good. We had the windows open in the afternoons when we returned from our walks, and the square felt quite loud. But the windows did a great job of shutting that out at night time. The staff were extremely kind and left a small bottle of wine and a slice of cake, with a hand- written note for my husband‘s birthday. That extra touch would make me come back there any time. The breakfast is small, but perfectly adequate. Hot food includes scrambled eggs and bacon, there are pastries, yoghurt and fruit available. There is a kettle and coffee maker in the room, the water bottle is replaced daily. There is a mini bar, which we did not require, but I did use the fridge keep some milk in, as being Irish and British we like real tea. Robes and slippers are also provided, The shower had great pressure and was always really warm. It was enough to keep us going, the breakfast room is so small and cute and feels more personal than some of the big hotels. The location is just around the corner from an underground station, as well as tram stops on the square. Just FYI- you can easily get the metro/underground here from the airport, only one line change. We found this to be a perfect base and did a lot of walking. Some restaurants nearby are excellent, I would recommend the little wine bar next-door to the right (as you stand facing the hotel) and the Asian restaurant to the left.

The only issue I found with the sound, was the fact that there are apartments above which I assume people live in. I could hear someone above me moving around and noises like chairs tracking on the floor. It didn’t bother me too much and I went back to sleep, but just be aware this is an old building and it only occupies one and a half floors. There is no lift up to the room, not an issue at all for us. They do also offer help with the bags, but please bear in mind if you have mobility issues or are a little older and struggle with stairs.

Main bedroom was massive and so was the bed. Lovely old building - you could feel the history Fabulous location right near the centre, lots of great restaurants nearby

Breakfast was "just ok" ! Breakfast room is VERY small and when busy it was difficult to move around and access the buffet. Coffee and cooked food on the buffet was cold Due to the small nature of the breakfast room/buffet lots of items were always empty and replenishment was slow meaning you had a lot of time hanging around and waiting Bathroom was quite small, desk was quite small

Our stay at this hotel was truly remarkable, thanks to its perfect location and exceptional staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The hotel is perfectly situated. It is close to the train station and many must-visit attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. A special shoutout to the receptionist, Esra, who went above and beyond to assist us, especially with planning our trip from Lisbon to Porto.

we did notice that the breakfast items were not replenished as frequently as expected. But overall, really good hotel to stay in.

Bordalo Palace is in a super location with good restaurants, bars and shops just on the doorstep and transport options also very close by. Also a very quiet location despite having a restaurant just below our window but it closed at a reasonable time. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities. Breakfast was a mixed array each morning but also tasty. Staff were excellent throughout from check in to local tips and help g with extra coffee each morning. No hesitation to fully recommend.

The location was perfect to get around the city; the room was spacious and clean; the breakfast was the perfect way to start the day; the staff was exceptional! Daniel was always there to offer great suggestions for restaurants and calling ahead to make reservations. He is very knowledgeable about Portugal’s history and culture and shared much valuable information. Catarina was so kind and quite knowledgeable as well. She made excellent recommendations about our trips to Sintra, Belem and Oporto. They were genuinely interested in our having the best experience in Portugal.

The building is over two hundred years old but has been well maintained. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had a lot of style. We booked a large room for a four-night stay, and it exceeded our expectations. It felt like we were staying in a cool guest room of a castle. The hotel is in a great location, with many local restaurants, attractions, and boutique stores within walking distance. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff gave us a warm and personal welcome. It was such a great stay!

The breakfast area is a bit small. Since we were on the second floor, it didn't bother us without an elevator. Despite that, we had a great time staying here.

The staff (especially Daniel and Katarina) were really attentive and sweet, the location is close to everything, our room is so spacious (restaurants next to it are great food, there is a Michelin restaurant not too far!), the welcome wine, fruits and treats inside the room were really nice and thoughtful, breakfast was delicious! Easy to get around, Uber can pick you up right in front of the hotel.

Nothing really to complain about, just note there is no lift but they make arrangements to help you with all your luggage so no problem at all. Also, temporary plumbing noise when water is turned on, but it goes away after using.

Location was perfect and central to everything. Staff was phenomenal in assisting with all our needs, especially Catarina. Breakfast which was included in our stay was amazing. If you like small boutique hotels with great customer service and a perfect location then this is the place for you in Lisbon for your stay. Only nine rooms !! I cant say enough about this place. It was our 1st time to Lisbon and our 1st stop. It set the whole tone for the rest of the trip

Nothing. It was perfect
