Our stay at the Pessoa Hotel in Portugal was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were immediately impressed by the elegant and modern design of the hotel. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring we had a restful sleep each night. We also appreciated the amenities provided, including the luxurious toiletries and the well-stocked minibar. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. The selection was varied and catered to different tastes, with fresh local produce and delicious pastries. And the pool area with sauna and spa, where we relax for few days. The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring the city, with many of Lisbon’s main attractions within walking distance. We also appreciated the quiet atmosphere, allowing us to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, the Pessoa Hotel exceeded our expectations. The combination of excellent service, beautiful accommodations, and a prime location made our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portugal and look forward to returning in the future.

The hotel was right in the heart of Lisbon so it was the perfect location for sightseeing. It was clean, tidy well managed and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was well appointed and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was delicious too and there was so much choice.

If I had to mention one thing that i didn’t like then it would probably be that the room layout was a bit awkward, especially with the large divide in the room and the column.

Only small shortcoming in our room was that toilet room had no window or ventilation. Hence it would vent via the sleeping room which can be unpleasant

I recently stayed at this hotel with a spa and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel offers a variety of amenities, including a pool, sauna, and a relaxation room with beds. While the pool was on the smaller side, it was still enjoyable, and the sauna facilities were quite good. The relaxation room provided a peaceful environment, as long as other guests were considerate and quiet. The mini fridge in the room was replenished daily and included in the price. This was a nice touch. Breakfast was a standout feature, with fantastic views and an excellent selection of both national specialties and international dishes. Options ranged from British and European items to pastries, fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, nuts, pancakes, and more. The variety ensured there was something for everyone. The location of the hotel was another major advantage. It is very close to a metro station and within walking distance of three nearby districts. Additionally, it is conveniently located near the starting point of the famous tram 28 line. There are also several great restaurants (e.g. Carmo restaurant, Nood Chaido) around the corner that are reasonably priced.

The room I stayed in was a bit small for two people with large suitcases. While there were additional suitcase stands available, space to store luggage comfortably was limited. However, the bathroom was stylish and well-integrated with the room. One minor downside was the behavior of some other guests at the pool—for example, jumping in immediately after using the sauna without showering first. (Who does that?) Overall, this hotel provides excellent amenities, a fantastic breakfast selection, and a prime location for exploring the city. With slightly larger rooms and more mindful guests, it would be even better!

The hotel, staff, room and amenities like the spa area were fantastic. Everything went smoothly and we didn't ha e one single problem during our stay.

The only thing I would point out is that the room may benefit from extra hooks to dry towels and robes, especially if you are using pool and spa. We only had two little ones so towels and robes couldn't dry properly.

The sauna was not working, so make sure to ask before :) And the spa center/ pool opens at 9:30.

The staff were warm and helpful. I arrived very early and they were really great at helping me change clothes, and use the gym and spa. The breakfast is quite good - not the best I have ever had, but quite good compared to most European hotels I have stayed at. The gym was fine. The spa was nice. The location is fantastic. The bed was good. Wifi was flawless. And this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where the minibar was free. It was modestly stocked but a salvation when I was time zones away from normal eating. I hope others follow this model!

I cannot think of anything that was bad. The light switches were frustrating and could have used labels. But I have yet to find a hotel that does that anywhere close to logically.

Lisboa Pessoa is located in the nicest part of Bairro Alto. The receptionists are very helpful+professional+kind and smiling addressing from the start with your name. The room with a view on Castelo San Jorge was very good with a perfect bed. The rooftop restaurant has one of the best breakfasts ever with a possibility to eat outside even in November

Not so much a complaint but more an advise is that the streets of Bairro Alto are small and often steep so having a reasonable physical condition is important. Because of the steep street Lisboa Pessoa is on, the entrance is in fact on the 2nd floor and the parking at the back of the hotel -not easy to find!- starts 2 floors below

We are beyond grateful for the extraordinary service provided by Yasoja Ekanayake, Assistant Director Guest Relations, at Lisboa Pessoa Hotel. While my parents were visiting Lisbon for my mother’s 70th birthday, my father lost his phone in an Uber — a phone essential for managing his diabetes. As a result, my parents had to cancel the remainder of their trip in Portugal and remain in Lisbon, hoping to retrieve the phone before their departure two days later. Unfortunately, Uber provided absolutely no assistance in recovering the lost phone, leaving us to handle the situation entirely on our own. That’s when Yasoja stepped in with remarkable compassion and dedication. He immediately helped my parents find a new hotel in Lisbon at a better price for their extended stay, arranged their transportation from Lisboa Pessoa Hotel to the new hotel, and — even after my parents had checked out of his hotel — continued to stay in constant communication with both them and me to see if we were able to retrieve the phone and if there was anything else he could do to support us throughout those days. Despite every effort, the phone could not be located during their extended stay, and my parents eventually returned to the United States. Once back in the U.S., my father was able to log in to Find My iPhone and pinpoint the phone’s exact location. Even then, Yasoja continued to go above and beyond. After completing his full shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, he personally traveled to the identified building, found the correct apartment, waited until the Uber driver returned home, and successfully recovered the phone — dedicating his personal time from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to assist us. He is now generously arranging for it to be shipped back to us. This level of care, professionalism, and personal commitment is the true definition of exceptional customer service.

A very welcoming hotel where all the staff were prepared to go the extra mile to make our stay there as enjoyable as possible. The facilities were exceptionally clean, the breakfasts excellent and the views from the terrace were wonderful. We went on a walking tour organised by the hotel which enabled us to learn more about the poet, Fernando Pessoa, and would recommend this highly. We learned a great deal and are hoping to do some research into someone we'd never previously heard of. We would also recommend the restaurant where we had a great dinner - in fact the best we had during our stay in Lisbon.
