Staff was superb and helpful. They were always ready to assist . Hotel walking distance to restaurants, historical sites, local train station, tour meeting places and ethnic neighborhoods.

For some reason we had to move rooms mid-stay. First room was spacious, clean, bright with excellent views. The second room “Pool” was small, dark with defective flush mechanism and an electrical outlet loose in bathroom loose and hanging partially open. There is wide variety in room quality so when booking request the better accommodation. Hotel on a narrow dead-end street making vehicle pick up and drop off difficult

The hotel is in the perfect location to experience Lisbon. Easy to walk everywhere from here. Our second favorite was the jacuzzi - we had the Jacuzzi III room. After walking the city each day, we soaked in it every evening to watch the sunset over the city. It was the highlight of our time at the hotel. Breakfast was also great. We recommend this hotel for the perfect location, the jacuzzi rooms, and great breakfast.

The main thing we didn't like was the noise. Our room was over the steps leading down to the train with many restaurants below, and we were kept up many times in the middle of the night with drunk people below our window still drinking at the restaurants for hours into the night, sometimes until 2 AM. For some reason, the restaurants didn't ask them them leave or be quiet. Also, you have to reserve the spa, and they forgot to turn on the sauna, steam room, and hot tub for us during our time, so that was a miss and frustrating when we rushed back to the hotel to get our one hour in. They could also use some rugs in the rooms since floors are slippery and for more comfort.

This hotel was like a hidden gem in the middle of Lisbon. Walking through the non descrip front door you walk into a walled compound with a large parking area, nice grounds and overall lots of space. We had a room with a view of the city, it was fantastic - quiet, comfy bed. The common areas were super cute and very relaxing, including the small pool. I also personally used the spa a couple of times which was also great. I would definitely stay again.

My wife and I split up one night because she was tired so I went out to a bar to watch rugby. She took the key to the room and I had a second key to enter the compound. However once inside the walls I still needed to pass through the office to get to the door to our room and the front office door was locked. It was a pretty big hassle actually. Fortunately another guest eventually came by so I could get in but there needs to be a solution for this sort of scenario. A slight upgrade on the gym by adding some dumbells would be a good improvement to the spa.

We liked everything! Location was perfect, the staff went above and beyond, the breakfast was delicious, the room was spacious and beautiful! It was like stepping into an oasis from the street.

Not a thing!

It is daunting to be a first-time visitor to a foreign city as large as Lisbon, but Casa Balthazar proved to be an exceptional home away from home. Our suite's spaciousness and comfort exceeded our expectations, and the oasis-like setting of the complex is fantastic. We enjoyed starting our day with our lattes and expressos in the exquisite breakfast area, always served promptly by enthusiastic staff. Likewise, the front desk staff, including Maria (manager), Paul, Yuran, and Rui, were exceedingly helpful and attentive to our needs. If my wife and I were to ever return to Lisbon again, we would definitely choose Casa Balthazar in a heartbeat.

Where to start...... this place is a real hidden gem, all the reviews were spot on! Located down a quiet side street; which is narrow & a dead end & it's easy to find once you know where it, our taxi also couldn't find it but we were dropped nearby and helped to locate it by the friendly locals in the area. The hotel was perfect for our needs, we opted for a jacuzzi room which did not disappoint! Spectacular views across the Lisbon skyline, a cute hot tub for two, sun loungers and a small table & chairs on the terrace to take in the amazing views! Our room was more than ample size and had everything we needed, including a complimentary bottle of wine. The hotel has a boutique homely vibe, beautifully decorated with antiques and stunning artworks adorning all of the common areas. The breakfast area is filled with light and the huge window looks on to the pool and courtyard area. Breakfast was delicious, selections of meats and cheese, eggs on request and the most divine cakes & pastries all from the hotels own bakery located not far away. The lounge space has coffee, teas and cake available throughout the day, plus a fully stocked bar which works on an honesty box scenario which is a lovely touch. The pool is small but quiet most of the day with plenty of shade as it was incredibly hot when we were there. In addition (which I wasn't even aware of) theres an underground spa which you can hire out (for free) for just the two of you to share at your leisure which was a brilliant way to unwind after striding up and down the hilly streets of Lisbon. The location of the hotel is pretty perfect within walking distance of so many great sites. We felt utterly spoilt and recharged, it's almost like staying with some really close friends, we felt incredibly welcome and looked after. Great hotel in an excellent location, near Rossio station and Dom Pedro Square, so easy to access all of the main sights. Hotel is on a hill with fantastic views of the old city and castle. We opted for a 'Jacuzzi room' which had amazing views from the private jacuzzi on the terrace. The room was large and very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was good.

My only gripe was that we paid a premium for a room with a jacuzzi, but couldn't use it on the first night because it was too cold. We were told that the water was changed between guests - which is obviously good - but we were there in winter and 7 hours after check in, it was still nowhere near hot enough to use. It had only heated up to the recommended temperature by the following morning. The person on reception said that they would discuss it with the manager, but no-one ever came back to us. Just worth being aware that if you're there in cooler weather, don't bank on being able to use the jacuzzi on your first night.

We loved our stay at Casa Balthazar! The room was so cute and comfortable. There was plenty of space for us for a 5 day stay, including a sitting area where we could relax, sip on wine and read. The hours of the breakfast were long, and Rui even sent us up breakfast the night before a 6:30am departure (which is before the breakfast service begins). We also couldn't have asked for a better location. It was literally in the center of EVERYTHING so we could walk to pretty much everything we wanted to see or go to. Highly recommend!!!

It was brilliant! Fantastic location in such a pretty street and neighbourhood with lots of nice restaurants. Our room was huge and tastefully decorated with a magnificent view of Lisbon and the Castle. We felt like we were part of the city. Staff members were so helpful at each point of the stay, at arrival, at breakfast, when booking restaurants and taxis and on check out. The breakfast was ample and in a beautiful room and the all day ‘cake and coffee’ was a lovely touch. We did not use the spa and pool but in the summer this would be a welcome event. The art work and furniture everywhere was tasteful and we loved the ‘honesty’ bar although we did not use it. The little kitchenette in our room was great to make tea and coffee - clever idea. We loved the whole experience of Casa Balthazar and were very sad to leave.

Great room with wonderful, comfortable bed. Enough space for luggage and having a suite was extra nice. Bathroom and shower excellent. Good location in the city. Breakfast area and common areas were lovely. I especially love the art throughout the hotel. Many thanks for a very pleasant stay.

The place was a little hard to find and it would help if hotel were to give very specific instructions as to where Uber should drop off visitors and that there is short walk to the front door of the hotel, and that walk is up a slight hill. I didn't want to let the Uber driver leave until I was sure of where the hotel was located. A little confusing at first.
