Hotel Avenida Palace is a spectacular property in the heart of Lisbon, right next to a beautiful train station. We walked pretty much everywhere. We loved staying here. I especially liked the entry off of the street. The hotel has its own little plaza where cars can stop and drop you off and pick you up. The room is very well appointed with a sitting area and the bed is very comfortable. The hotel even provides a mobile phone with a GPS and guide on it. We tried to use it, but didn't take the time to really figure it out. It was also nice to have a little entry room and that the bathroom is not an ensuite. Breakfast is in a beautiful room and while there was a lot of food, there wasn't a lot of food for vegans like us, but we managed to fill up on salads, grilled vegetables, fruit and toast. The also left us a few gifts, e.g. a shopping bag, a cloth to clean my laptop screen - which I thought were very lovely and generous.

Service was very good, but I didn't get the feeling that the receptionists or concierge really wanted to interact. I found this a bit odd, given the quality level of the hotel. They had put up a schedule of entertainment in the area off of the lobby but changed it at the last minute which was disappointing. We had been looking forward to Fado and it was literally changed on the day, without notice.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Beautiful building conveniently located in the center of town. Very pleasant staff. The room was clean, good wifi, even had a smartphone for convenience. The hotel pleased me with various pleasant gestures and compliments. Separately I want to note the luxurious breakfasts, everything was varied and delicious! Going to visit this hotel again for my birthday! The best impressions and thanks to the hotel for a pleasant vacation in it.

The hotel is in the perfect location for our visit to Lisbon. It is nearby all the places we wanted to visit, along with many restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere and not need to use taxi service. Every morning there was a plentiful and tasty breakfast. They also sent a nice welcome amenity upon arrival. The hotel did provide two excellent technology amenities. First, a charging unit, with many USB and plug in outlets. Never had to use our converter. Also, they provide a free mobile phone to use while there. We never used it, but a nice touch.

We did upgrade to a balcony room, but it truly isn't necessary. The views from the hotel are not really great. Hotel is definitely the old world style and not very modern. However, location was perfect and staff made up for it.

The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas. It has a regal look and all the different rooms, reception and the bar are decorated in keeping with the age of the building. It looks fantastic. The breakfast was great. You had everything to choose from including hot options, cereals, meats and cheeses as well as pastries. The service was excellent and so attentive without being too much. Our room was on the second floor. We slept so well apart from a little road noise (and noise from the metro) we slept soundly every night. Every day the hotel left us a gift including a shopping bag and some pens as well as a free drink in the bar. Honestly there was so much to like it is hard to list it all! The location could not be better. You are so close to a main railway station, metro station and bus stops. Plus you are within walking distance of hundreds of bars, restaurants and attractions. It is quite simply in the very best location.

I was a little disappointed with the ‘gym’ / ‘fitness room’. To be honest it was neither. It was a tiny room with some treadmills and other cardio equipment. The only other thing i would say is the bar was amazing and the staff very talented at making cocktails but my word compared with the rest of Lisbon the prices were very much on the heavy side.

It is charming and you should ask to read the history booklet while you are there. It was a grand old hotel next to the railroad station, with a secret door for VIPs exiting the train. The decor is historic, from different periods. Each room is unique. They loan you a phone to use while exploring the city so you won’t have to pay roaming rates. .

Most of us have to fly through the Lisbon airport to get there. :) Also, it’s hard to pick from the hundred + restaurants nearby. And there is a tendency to eat too much at the delicious breakfast.

The Avenida Palace is a shining example of how a city centre hotel should be. The rooms were an excellent size with all the usual amenities that one would expect in a 5 star hotel. Traditional furnishings enhance its heritage and the staff in all areas of the hotel go out of their way to welcome you and provide a high level of service. The breakfast selection of food was top notch and the staff in the breakfast room deserve special mention for their excellent attentive hospitality. I recommend the hotel with absolute confidence.

The hotel has a great location and old world charm. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and accomodating. Just about everyone speaks english which made the stay enjoyable. The breakfast was fabulous-huge selection of food offerrings with a very attentive staff, Breakfast was a pleasureable experience each morning! The staff will cook any egg order you desire-just ask them. Location in city center is ideal to tour the city. You can walk to most sites! Room was very comfortable, clean and quiet.! Nightly treats were left in the room while we were at dinner. The concierge staff-in particulcar, Daniel and Pedro, were wonderful to work with in planning our stay. From personal tours, to dinner, transportation and general knowledge they were superb. Anselmo our personal guide was knowledgeable and treat to tour Lisbon city and Sintra. Highly recommend booking through concierge with Anselmo. Well worth the investment. We will definitely be booking the Palace next year! Wonderful expereince!

From its classic beauty and elegance to its welcoming and responsive staff, we truly enjoyed the Avenida Palace Hotel. The location is good for shopping and dining, our room was clean and well-appointed, and the breakfast is over-the-top with an amazing selection of options all beautifully prepared. Everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful. Admittedly, I was a little worried about this hotel based on its age, but I trusted the many positive reviews and our experience ended up exceeding expectations.

Our room was a disappointingly interior space. Like most people, we would have enjoyed an exterior view, but the interior location was compensated by an additional adjoining room where one could sit apart from the bedroom itself.

Exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable service provided by every member of staff we met, who are a credit to the hotel and made our holiday feel extra special. Lovely treats to come back to in the room, the surprise birthday breakfast treats and the champagne and fruit left in the room for my husband's birthday were totally unexpected but very much appreciated and very thoughtful. Breakfast outstanding with a wide variety to choose from. We would definitely return to the Avenida Palace.

Breakfast was excellent as it included a wide variety of choices. The daily evening piano performances (between 7:00 -8:00 p.m.) were wonderful, particularly the fado music performance. The concierge service was attentive and professional. We were able to book a tour to Sintra with a private car and an experienced driver/tour guide, as well as a sunset cruise, with very short notice.

Our rooms were located on the 2nd floor. We would have preferred a higher floor which would have alleviated some of the noise from the nearby subway.
