Beautiful hotel in a great location. Full of charm and special touches. Absolutely sparkling clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The stairs leading up to the loft where bed was could have had some carpet or stair treads since going up and down in the dark could be difficult.

We have read reviews that the rooms are small, it was on the small side but more than adequate for 2 people who basically only sleep and washed in it. Location was bang on the main shopping strip. Don’t use your sat nav to pinpoint the hotel look up the address and walk the street looking for a small and ornate doorway between 2 shops as that is the best way to find it. Breakfast is continental and again more than adequate. We sleep well and walked the main points of interest in the city from the hotel. It’s a lovely old world hotel with great ambiance and smart uniforms and great service.

Like other reviews I think it should really have complementary tea and coffee making in the room as well as (cheap) FREE bottled water on arrival. So we reverted to the cafe 2 doors down for both.

The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of a busy area of shops and only a 10 minute walk to the historic city center. The room was small but very clean and seems recently renovated. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast area, old school formal luxury

There are few amenities in the room. If you use the coffee maker it costs 1.5 Euros. That is so cheap when you are paying for a first class accommodation. There was a fridge but it didn't work and the bar was reluctant to provide ice. I was really annoyed that we could not borrow a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine we were having in our room. They demanded 5 Euros to open our bottle, for consumption in our room. Also. The hotel entrance is on a pedestrian walkway so you can't pull up to the door and offload your luggage. We had to park in an alley way and push our luggage up hill quite a long distance

The hotel allows you to feel like you have stepped back in time. It was beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms are all updated and everything was sparkling clean. The staff was amazing, even helping us change rooms when we requested to. The included breakfast is enormous. The location is perfect - restaurants (Majestic Cafe is across the pedestrian street!), stores and entertainment all within walking distance.

Loved everything about it.

The property is beautiful, historic and ornate, and the rooms were large and very clean. Staff was helpful. Lovely view of the city from the rooftop. Breakfast included.

The hotel is on a busy street and the nearest parking is 8-10 minutes walk. If you are traveling alone and can’t leave your car to drop your luggage off, this could be challenging if you have lots of luggage or are not physically able to commute a long distance. Staff was very helpful in explaining the parking and gave us a €2 off voucher. Small complaint, but the espresso machines at breakfast were watery and not good.

This property is on a pedestrian street so no traffic noise. It looks at first glance to be a bit small. However once you get through the revolving door you are into a tardis of charm and elegance. Staff and exceptional. From reception to house keeping they were polite and attentive. The breakfast is varied, plentiful and tasty. The breakfast room is an absolute joy. A large elegant room with chandeliers. Make sure you look at the plaster work on the ceiling.

If I’m being picky the beds are not the most comfortable, a bit hard.

Reception staff very good and nice to have bags taken to room whilst we were out. Breakfast was great and staff helpful and items filled up quickly. Location is fantastic. Bed was comfy, room clean and quiet. Liked the decoration of the communal areas.

Two of the drawers in the wardrobe were off their runners and one of them pulled right out and fell on my foot which was painful. Also knob on inside of bathroom door was coming loose. I also expected to have more bathroom products - including moisturiser. The shower wash container was stuck so I couldn't get anything out.

Location is very central for shops, cathedral, various historic sites. Staff were all very helpful, efficient and friendly. They helped create a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was good and lounge and bar area very relaxing. Dark, rich decor with lamps and chandeliers.

Room advertised as having en-suite bathroom but no bath, just shower. Extra 40 euros to move to room with bath . Don’t mind paying for a mini bar but would expect tea/coffee to be complimentary instead of charge for using a coffee pod.

Beautiful hotel and location just off the high street was perfect. I did wish the staff would chat more. It’s not a huge busy hotel and sometimes heads were always down when we passed the reception desk just a very small negative as our stay was lovely. This is a beautiful hotel. Our suite was amazing this is more than a 3 star. I don’t agree with paying for coffee tea in the room. You pay for a suite and I don’t think this is necessary we did ask reception if this was correct. I expect to pay for the mini bar but paying for a coffee pod!!!! Really.

Nothing really would have just liked a little more friendliness from staff.

Locations is fantastic; a short stroll from the train station, lots of shopping, cafe’s and restaurants on the doorstep. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well maintained. We used the bar, lounges and restaurant and all were comfortable and clean, and for breakfast there is a lot of choice and the quality is excellent, with a few choices and a freshly baked roll for those with a gluten free diet. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There’s nothing not to like. The only improvements we could suggest are to add some coat hooks in the room, and perhaps a complimentary bottle of water.
