Beautiful hotel in a great location. Full of charm and special touches. Absolutely sparkling clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The stairs leading up to the loft where bed was could have had some carpet or stair treads since going up and down in the dark could be difficult.

The hotel's location is perfect! It allows you to do a lot of walking around Porto without needing public transport! The breakfast was also great and it had a lot of variety. Great coffee during breakfast and a very nice pastel de nata. Bathroom was spacious and the room was very well cleaned.
The bed was comfortable, but it was not an actual double bed. It were two twin beds combined together. So, that made the room experience a bit less nice. Also, I was a bit disappointed to have to pay for a Nespresso in the room, while other hotels offer that for free. Anyway, around Porto you can find great espressos which were cheaper than going for a Nespresso in the bedroom.

Well located in the main shopping street of Porto, the Grande Hotel lives up to its name with its sweeping staircases, chandeliers and cosy lounges whilst incorporating all modern facilities in the rooms. The advertised parking was a public car park 300m away. Breakfast offered all the usual buffet options. The staff were all very helpful.
It would have been useful to know the location of the parking before we arrived in Porto. We sent an email and the hotel replied but we had already arrived. Perhaps it would be best if the hotel gave the car park address at the time that the booking confirmation is sent?

We have read reviews that the rooms are small, it was on the small side but more than adequate for 2 people who basically only sleep and washed in it. Location was bang on the main shopping strip. Don’t use your sat nav to pinpoint the hotel look up the address and walk the street looking for a small and ornate doorway between 2 shops as that is the best way to find it. Breakfast is continental and again more than adequate. We sleep well and walked the main points of interest in the city from the hotel. It’s a lovely old world hotel with great ambiance and smart uniforms and great service.
Like other reviews I think it should really have complementary tea and coffee making in the room as well as (cheap) FREE bottled water on arrival. So we reverted to the cafe 2 doors down for both.

This hotel is fantastic. Really eclectic throughout. The staff were great - really helpful. We were worried when we realized it was on a busy street but the hotel goes a long way back and was very quiet. Would definitely visit again.
The parking situation is less than ideal (although I’d never take a car again) because they have a discount with a parking lot about 5-10 minutes walk away. The idea was to drop the bags in front of the hotel on the pedestrian walkway but the reader couldn’t read the license plate. The staff did come and get out bags, and they said it was a new system they were getting used to. But probably my advice would probably be don’t take a car anyway!

The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of a busy area of shops and only a 10 minute walk to the historic city center. The room was small but very clean and seems recently renovated. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast area, old school formal luxury
There are few amenities in the room. If you use the coffee maker it costs 1.5 Euros. That is so cheap when you are paying for a first class accommodation. There was a fridge but it didn't work and the bar was reluctant to provide ice. I was really annoyed that we could not borrow a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine we were having in our room. They demanded 5 Euros to open our bottle, for consumption in our room. Also. The hotel entrance is on a pedestrian walkway so you can't pull up to the door and offload your luggage. We had to park in an alley way and push our luggage up hill quite a long distance

The hotel allows you to feel like you have stepped back in time. It was beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms are all updated and everything was sparkling clean. The staff was amazing, even helping us change rooms when we requested to. The included breakfast is enormous. The location is perfect - restaurants (Majestic Cafe is across the pedestrian street!), stores and entertainment all within walking distance.
Loved everything about it.

The property is beautiful, historic and ornate, and the rooms were large and very clean. Staff was helpful. Lovely view of the city from the rooftop. Breakfast included.
The hotel is on a busy street and the nearest parking is 8-10 minutes walk. If you are traveling alone and can’t leave your car to drop your luggage off, this could be challenging if you have lots of luggage or are not physically able to commute a long distance. Staff was very helpful in explaining the parking and gave us a €2 off voucher. Small complaint, but the espresso machines at breakfast were watery and not good.

The facility was welcoming from the moment we walked in. Someone was always dusting and cleaning, even each chandelier piece and sides of stairwells. We loved the rooftop terrace, so calm and quiet up there with lovely seating and plants and view of the city The location was ideal. We walked to shopping, gelato and dinner every day. The room and bathroom was lovely, we slept amazing. Good bed and very quiet which was amazing being on a very busy street and the breakfast was delicious with lots of healthy options and good coffee

This property is on a pedestrian street so no traffic noise. It looks at first glance to be a bit small. However once you get through the revolving door you are into a tardis of charm and elegance. Staff and exceptional. From reception to house keeping they were polite and attentive. The breakfast is varied, plentiful and tasty. The breakfast room is an absolute joy. A large elegant room with chandeliers. Make sure you look at the plaster work on the ceiling.
If I’m being picky the beds are not the most comfortable, a bit hard.
