Located close to the city centre, near to the metro and within easy walking distance to many of the popular tourist destinations. We had breakfast included in our booking, which provided options to suit our needs well. The The room was beautifully prepared for our arrival and had its own kitchenette. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated. Our room had 3 large front facing windows with shutters that helped mute the sound of the city hustle and bustle. The finish of the room felt luxurious down to furnishings, rugs and a super comfortable bed. Even the toiletry products were all of a wonderful standard. Staff were consistently helpful, providing assistance with our travel needs when the local internet booking systems prevented us from registering (we have no house number, and our UK postcode format was also rejected). All in all, Prim&Proper provide us with a wonderful few days break during our holiday.

As this was our first visit to Porto, we had an excellent stay at the Prim and Proper Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was centrally located, close to everything. On arrival the staff were extremely helpful and courteous and had very kindly arranged a detailed itinerary to the various must see attractions , museums, heritage sights and local restaurants which we found extremely beneficial. The staff were always available to assist us with any details we required. The breakfast choice and quality was amazing and served in a very nice restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel.

Room was spacious with comfy king bed and great linens. Liked the private outdoor terrace overlooking a park connected to our room. Liked having the small kitchen with refrigerator and sink in the room. Good lighting in main room. Very good full menu choices for breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. Helpful pleasant young staff. You walk out to a busy narrow street, located near lots of good sandwich places.

Storage was an issue for people with two suitcases staying for five days, like us. If you could set up more storage in the main room (there is no dresser or any convenient shelves in the closet) and in the bathroom area that would help out travelers a lot. Bathroom had a nice designy look but was not very functional. Poor lighting, no door to separate from sleeping area, small sink area with not enough dry surfaces to even lay a hairbrush. No shelf in shower stall to hold anything, water was slow to drain in shower so you’re standing in cool water. Toilet room had persistent urine odor—needs better air circulation or deodorizer? Towels were thin and not enough of them. No facial tissues or paper towels.

I liked the location. The hotel is adorable with comfortable furnishing. Room was large. People working the front desk were helpful. Great breakfast.

Helpful suggestions: 1. A bathroom door would be a great idea. Or at the very least maybe frosted glass on the water closet door. 2. Better lighting in the bathroom. No woman would be able to put makeup on with the current lighting. 3. Because the bathroom has next to nothing for counter space maybe add a shelf above the sink. 4. A microwave in the kitchenette would be a great addition. 5. Maybe a keypad on the back door that guests could use to enter the hotel.

1. The location is perfect, despite the alley where the hotel entrance is located. 2. The staff are more than nice and helpful in managing our plans and suggesting good places. 3. The hotel was opened in May 2023, so its brand new with amazing interior design and good quality.

1. Despite the nice design of the room and its finishing, i think there was a lot of focus of the overall design without considering any other needs, like the basic storage spaces or hanging hooks. I believe this could have been simply added instead of the mini sink. 2. Our AC was broken in one night so we had to sleep with the windows open which was extremely uncomfortable for light sleepers. I could hear every single sound coming from the street, luckily the AC was fixed on the other night..

Lovely large room with superking comfy bed and deliciously sumptuous bedding… need to find that for home! The room included a small kitchenette, huge shower, minibar & TV hidden within a very large wall mirror. The staff were so friendly, helpful & polite…especially Martha who welcomed us on arrival and gave us some great recommendations for food and sightseeing around Porto. Breakfast was delicious …. the best natural yoghurt ever!!

The bathroom lighting was a little dark for applying make up but I’m being picky there.

My fiance and I stayed here for our last few nights in Porto and we wish we had been here the entire time. We had originally booked an airbnb on the river that was dirty and loud and booked at Prim&Proper at 11pm our first night in a panic because we were so miserable. When we got to Prim&Proper, we were so relieved. Quiet, clean, and easily walkable to the main tourist stuff without being in the madness, the real thing that stands out about Prim&Proper are the staff. Marta, Lionel, Susie, Darlene and everyone else were so welcoming and so, so incredibly kind and helpful. We told Marta we were visiting and the next day she had printed off suggestions and gave us a map of Porto to help guide us on our way. On our last night, my fiance hurt his stomach (he has a recurring ulcer) and Lionel and the staff came to the rescue, first giving me directions to the grocery store, and then letting me borrow the kitchen kettle & a bowl to make plain porridge to help settle his stomach. The next day, Susie let me take his breakfast up to the room so he could sleep in. We are so incredibly grateful to how kind and helpful everyone is. Also, the breakfast & welcome drink wine were EXCELLENT! Probably the best breakfast I've had in a while and definitely the best of our trip. Can't stress enough how much we enjoyed our stay. It was easy to get to everything and the staff really made the experience. Thank you again, from Becca & David! We appreciate you all! If the owner reads this, please give your staff a raise, especially my girl Marta! She earned it!

Amazing view from the room, having the bath in the room was a unique experience that we really enjoyed. Bathroom was clean and felt seperated from the room even though it tecnically wasn't. Amazing breakfast in room service.

Parking wasn't included and the discount for parking wasn't specified to which location. We parket at the closest parking garage to the hotel but paid full price, even though staff mentioned it was included with discount. We paid 25,50 euro for 1 day parking. It only seems fair we should have gotten a discount for this.

We had an amazing stay at Prim&Proper during our weekend in Porto. We said it was the best hotel we had stayed in. The rooms are very spacious and are very nicely designed with lovely materials and attention to detail. It is a great place to kick back and relax after a full day of sightseeing and port tastings. The service, hospitality, and communication before and during our stay were great. The team helped us organize a lovely trip to the Duoro Valley with Antonio as our guide, which is a great recommendation to add to your stay. Also a big thank you to the Prim&Proper team for the nice bottle of wine they gave us to celebrate our engagement. It is waiting to be opened on a special night!

I loved this hotel. The staff were so amazing, I had a map, a list of restaurants, attractions, public transportation all provided as well as a free glass of wine on arrival. The room was really great, super clean, spacious and well kept. There was also lots of closet space and just a great layout. I would love to stay here again, it’s in an unassuming location but a hidden gem. Thank you once more to the team for making my stay so great!
