Room gave a sense of luxury you rarely get for such price, I was so pleasantly surprised! Also the layout of the building is cozy as there are few rooms but in great condition. Breakfast was again cute with tasty options including gluten free, great value for money! Location was perfect, right in the center so everything is walking distance. Staff helped us figure out our train issues too!

I wasn’t a fan of the transparent bathroom doors, my partner and I generally like to keep that privacy but we unfortunately couldn’t. The shower and toilet both had transparent doors and the bathroom itself had no door. So also no sound proofing. Important note if something like this puts you off.

Location, Great staff , pretty rooms, good breakfast, We would stay again! Rooms have a kitchenette - hotel gave us wine and water at check in - Really a lovely place - We had three rooms. the 2nd floor had taller ceiling , 3rd floor lower ceilings but the doors did open to the balconette , 4th floor is walk up only from the 3rd floor and had a loft like feel . ALL rooms were great though. I'd splurge for the suites next time bc it was a nice place to stay!

The only thing was that the bathroom sink and counter was tiny but that is pretty common in Europe in general so not a deal breaker - we had 3 rooms in total and one did have a larger sink

The staff were fabulous and the customer service was faultless. The staff were extremely helpful and made customers feel very special. They were happy to share knowledge of the city and happy to accommodate any requests.

The lay out of the room was not acceptable. To undress in the bedroom before entering the shower was degrading. Having the wash basin in the bedroom was also totally wrong. No drawer space to unpack small items was wrong as you have to live out of a suitcase. There was coffee making facilities but please consider tea drinkers. People from the UK love their tea. Once you get used to the unforgiving room layout the customer service makes up for everything.

Loved our stay here. Brilliant location (we walked everywhere easily) and the quality of the apartment was stunning. Loved the full length mirror wall and my husband particularly loved that there was a TV built into it! Very modern - slightly quirky bathroom layout but worked perfectly for us, breakfast downstairs was perfect, staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again. There’s a small supermarket within 1 min walk and an excellent flat white coffee 2 mins walk away at Combi Coffee Roasters.

We loved everything. The bathroom layout might be tricky for anyone who’s a bit shy around their travel companion as both toilet and shower are behind (closed off, frosted) glass doors and there’s no completely separated bathroom area as such. It was totally fine for us but others may find it challenging.

Behind a neutral entrance in a narrow street you will find an exquisitely designed hotel with beautiful and very clean rooms. Very well situated within walking distance to shopping streets and the river. Lovely breakfast with both a buffet and a large menu (included) with extras cooked to your order. Lovely staff in the reception and the breakfast room. We could definitely have stayed longer. Porto is a beautiful city. Visited 15 years ago and the restoration since has truly made it "the place to be".

Would have been convenient to have a shelf and a hanger in the basin area for my toilet bag and the towel.

Located close to the city centre, near to the metro and within easy walking distance to many of the popular tourist destinations. We had breakfast included in our booking, which provided options to suit our needs well. The The room was beautifully prepared for our arrival and had its own kitchenette. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated. Our room had 3 large front facing windows with shutters that helped mute the sound of the city hustle and bustle. The finish of the room felt luxurious down to furnishings, rugs and a super comfortable bed. Even the toiletry products were all of a wonderful standard. Staff were consistently helpful, providing assistance with our travel needs when the local internet booking systems prevented us from registering (we have no house number, and our UK postcode format was also rejected). All in all, Prim&Proper provide us with a wonderful few days break during our holiday.

As this was our first visit to Porto, we had an excellent stay at the Prim and Proper Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was centrally located, close to everything. On arrival the staff were extremely helpful and courteous and had very kindly arranged a detailed itinerary to the various must see attractions , museums, heritage sights and local restaurants which we found extremely beneficial. The staff were always available to assist us with any details we required. The breakfast choice and quality was amazing and served in a very nice restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel.

Reception staff were very friendly and super helpful giving us lots of information about the surrounding area. We booked a superior room with a garden view and it was very spacious. The bed was extremely hard but mattresses are always personal preferences and are probably very difficult to please everyone. Breakfast room is lovely but small and if it’s busy expect to wait for your order. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

A stylish hotel in the restored building with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast - the made to order - was absolutely delicious. The location is convenient, with many main attractions within walking distance.

A small suggestion: better lighting around the mirrors would be helpful for tasks like makeup application. It’s a minor detail and didn’t impact the overall experience, but a more thoughtful design in this area could make a great stay even better.

Room was spacious with comfy king bed and great linens. Liked the private outdoor terrace overlooking a park connected to our room. Liked having the small kitchen with refrigerator and sink in the room. Good lighting in main room. Very good full menu choices for breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. Helpful pleasant young staff. You walk out to a busy narrow street, located near lots of good sandwich places.

Storage was an issue for people with two suitcases staying for five days, like us. If you could set up more storage in the main room (there is no dresser or any convenient shelves in the closet) and in the bathroom area that would help out travelers a lot. Bathroom had a nice designy look but was not very functional. Poor lighting, no door to separate from sleeping area, small sink area with not enough dry surfaces to even lay a hairbrush. No shelf in shower stall to hold anything, water was slow to drain in shower so you’re standing in cool water. Toilet room had persistent urine odor—needs better air circulation or deodorizer? Towels were thin and not enough of them. No facial tissues or paper towels.
