The location couldn’t have been better. Literally steps from mannekin pis (viewable from the window, in fact) and only a short walk to everywhere else. The perfect spot to base yourself when exploring the city. Rooms were clean with a big window looking out onto the street. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Visitors should keep in mind that there is no lift or airconditioning. Fan is provided (and window provides fresh air) but can be noisy if keeping it open for sleeping, as it’s in a popular tourist area. Staircase is also very narrow, if bringing a big suitcase. Room is also quite small, but no problem if you’re just sleeping there and exploring during the day.

The location was absolutely perfect. Right by the manneken pis and very close to other attractions and restaurants. Perfectly fit rooms. Cozy bathroom with toiletries and they made sure to change or bring, or at least offer fresh towels every single day. Service was amazing, the receptionists were so kind.
I can't say I disliked anything, everything was perfect for the price we payed. However, the stairs were slightly steep and narrow, so I would recommend to someone with mobility issues to request a ground floor room (if possible, but I think the hotel starts on the first floor and there is no lift).

This little hotel was just exactly what we needed. It's not at all fancy, but it was clean, comfy and perfectly located. It's steps away from restaurants, bars and shopping. We were concerned about noise as it's right across from the Mannequin Pis fountain, but we found it not bad at all. The staff we met were helpful and lovely. Though we didn't partake, breakfast is an extra option and it smelled delicious. We'd stay there again!
Be prepared for some stairs. They are a little narrow and there are a couple of flights.

I didn't have breakfast, but the offerings were very nice. I was advised to try local boulangerie. This was great advice, and it was so close. Local buses stopped in Rue du Midi, a few metres from street for the hotel. 24 hour tickets available for 8.90eur. 95 bus to Troon (cost 2.80euro) where there's a ticket vending machine. Can buy 1 to 5 days. GREAT Way to get around.
I have a preference for hand held shower. But that is not to say that the rainfall was bad. --- simply my preference. Temperature management was simple.

Excellent location! The iconic pissing boy statue is a few steps away, as well as chocolate shops, cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops.Great service, too. The room was cleaned everyday with supplies and towels replenished. I sent some messages through booking.com and the hotel responded quickly.
There's no lift and you access ypur room through a narrow, spiral staircase. So it will be a challenge if you have mobility problems or have heavy luggage.

Location was fantastic for what we wanted. The room was very cosy, the beds were very comfortable. The staff were really friendly and organised a late check in with no problems.
It was very, very hot in the hotel. We were given a fan but it just moved hot air around the room. The bathroom door didn't shut and the handle was basically falling off. The water pressure and temperature was poor and inconsistent, but understandable as it's an old building.

Location was excellent by the Mannekin Pis, near the Grand Place. Bed was very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful (allowed us to leave our bags on check-out day and collect later to fit with our onward travel). Had a small fridge and a safe. Linen changed daily. Water dispenser downstairs (free water is a bonus in Belgium!) with cold or hot water. Good value for money. We took 3 rooms for the family. The rooms on floors 2 (room 4) and 3 (room 6) were brightly decorated with views of the Mannekin Pis.
The stairs! Very steep, narrow, spiral stone staircase. We took 3 rooms for the family and my son drew the short straw and had to climb 3 flights to room 6. If you can't lift your suitcase to around waist height, this is not the hotel for you. Room 2 (first floor) was decorated in dark colours so seemed dingier smaller than the other rooms. Shower head was poor in room 4 and just dribbled and door didn't close. Could not see the MP from room 2 because of the hotel sign. We were there mid-week so not much noise from other tourists outside but some noisy early-morning lorry deliveries.

The location is excellent, we could see the Mannekin Pis from our window! Room was very comfortable, and even had a little fridge in the room which was great. As is always the case with European places, there wasn't an elevator, but we knew that going in, so no issues for us.
Just something small: We had a small crack in the shower head which meant when it was used on full power it shot out the top of the cubicle.

Hotel la vielle lanterne was amazing.I really enjoyed it! Also, the location was fantastic being on the door step-literally- to Manneken Pis and the Grote Markt was down the the road or rue shall I say. IT WAS SPECTACULAR!!!! The staff were lovely and if you would like to get something from the gift shop, which is connected to the hotel.
The only thing I disliked was the stairs and the facilities.

This is a very small hotell behind a souvenir shop. The location is incredible, right in the middle. The room was small and simple but charming and clean. I stayed with my pre-teen son and we had a great time, since it's so easy to explore Brussels from this very central location. The staff were nice and went out of their way to be helpful.
This is not the place to stay if you want to sit around the hotel, but it's very highly recommended if you come to see Brussels.
