Best option for Townsville. Pure lack of options in this city makes ardo the frontrunner.

The " gym" that Ardo utilises next door at the ville is an absolute joke. My home gym is far far far more extensive and most of it was either in such poor shape or so old/obsolete that if I was given the equipment in there I wouldve declined it. Most of it looks like it was collected from the dump or some second hand auction as its covered in rust and weight machine's are ancient tech. It was so bad that it was embarrassing to call this a gym and they would be best off not even mentioning it and closing it down as the standard is beyond poor.

Waking up to the stunning view from our ocean view room was my favourite part of staying here. Definitely recommend the rooftop pool and trying out the cocktails served by the rooftop bar which had a lovely chilled vibe under the afternoon sun. Hotel is located right next door to The Ville and facilities are shared (we didn’t have chance to try the pool there, but it looked nice and clean). It is also a short walk to the sea link ferry terminal for a day trip to Magnetic Island.

Very minor detail, but we had a room right by the lift and got woken up by a noisy group coming in late one night, who decided to have a loud conversation in the hallway (obviously not the hotel’s fault), so rooms could do with a little extra sound proofing from the hallway.

The lovely receptionist who checked me in was so friendly and professional. I’ll feel so bad that I don’t remember her name, but she’s Finnish. The Ocean room view has a fantastic layout. Very spacious . Gorgeous generous bathroom . And the most comfortable bed ever ! The views from the Roof Top bar were stunning

It’s such a tiny thing , but the instant filtered coffee bag was a bit odd. I need my caffeine fix. Luckily a quick stroll to the casino was close by ☺️ And maybe the mini bar fridge is a bit on the small side. But that seems to be the trend lately .

The hotel opened in December 2023 and whilst most facilities and staff were excellent there were a few gaps in 5* service. We ate at the Japanese restaurant which was lovely. Not experts in Japanese cuisine the staff guided us through tasty dishes. We also ate at Marmor the roof level steak restaurant which was outstanding. Food and service excellent. Not all the restaurants being open every day was surprising, plus the early close. We have since learnt this typical Australian restaurants. Bed was so comfortable Definitely recommend the pool and preferred it to The Ville pool Also get an ocean facing view - perfect sunrise and sunset views

Early close of restaurants Only one day did a member of staff proactively look after residents at the pool.

There's a lot to like about Ardo. We were in the Ardo Suite which was big and luxurious with a large balcony which had a big round bath and day bed. The decor is new, modern and stunning. Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful. The heated infinity pool overlooking the ocean is very relaxing and for a bit more "fun" vibe, there's access to the Ville pool nextdoor. There's a tablet in the room used to request service (very helpful). I would find it hard to stay anywhere else now!

The food and beverage options are very limited. There's poolside service but no wine or cocktails (these are available at the Ville). The rooftop bar only opens at 4.30 (weekdays) and it's hard to get a coffee unless you're sitting by the pool. Also, they say you can cast to the TV but it generally didn't work and never works with Netflix. We had to watch shows on our ipad when there was a massive TV sitting on the wall!

Absolutely incredible. We basically booked this trip for the resort so were a tad nervous given its new but it was well worth it. I’m a ex-travel writer from the U.S. and have stayed in some incredible properties for work, and this is just what we were looking for to celebrate our 1 yr anniversary. Stunning pool, solid cocktails, great sunset bar, well designed sleek room. We were considering going to Bali but this turned out to give us exactly what we want without forking out for flights and wasting time in transit. We spent 2 nights which was a good amount of time given all we wanted to do was hang at the pool. Also loved the access to the hotel next door which is vibey at night and has lots of meal options so you don’t need to venture far. Went to magnetic island afterwards for a few nights. Also have to shout out to whoever curated the mini bar- very cool selection that was really unique and thoughtful. I’d definitely come back again.

Honestly, nothing. If I had to call something out, it would be that it would be nice to have a tub in the bathroom and airport shuttle available.

The view is amazing. For a new Hotel it is clean and nearly perfect. Staff a very lovely. The food was amazing. Would I go back? Yes.

As this is a new Hotel. It has teething problems that need to ironed out. I would have rate this Hotel 5 star but can only give it 3.5 Stars to 4 Stars. The reason why? I have travel a lot and stayed in 5 star Hotels. For the price per night of $400.00 I would expect there to be two bathrobes in the room. My husband did not have a bathrobe. I expect sleepers with the Motel Name on them. I expect complementary bottle water everyday. I expect pen and paper with the Hotel name on it. I expect a shower cap & sanitary bag plus little bottles of Shampoo and Conditioner to use or take home as a memory of our stay. Sadly we also lost power for 11 hours while we were there. The Duty Manager gave us a free upgrade for our next staff and cleared our in room dining bill after I made a complaint.

Very modern and minimalist. I love that. It is clean, clear, uncluttered and stylish. The hotel was fully booked out when we stayed but it always felt quiet and relaxed. I love the rooftop bar. The view and the food was lovely. I am coeliac and appreciate the question being asked and the option offered on all meals that I ordered up there. There is a big difference between being gluten free and coeliac and this hotel acknowledged that in their QR code ordering system.

Nothing! I really liked it. It was very different to any other hotel I have stayed in before.

The property was very lush. Felt luxurious and calming in the midst of a busy city of Townsville. The Japanese restaurant was stunning and food was delicious.

Unfortunately the room we were given had a bad smell to it, mouldy/damp smell from the recent rainfall. It was uncomfortable to sleep in. The property however rectified this very quickly on our second night and upgraded us to a different room. They handled the situation really well and were so apologetic and lovely about it.

Loved the roof top pool - the view was amazing. The cleanliness of the property was great which is rare to come by these days. The staff were friendly and we really liked the pool side ability to order food and drinks and the availability of cold filtered water.

Whilst we appreciate the hotel wanting to stock items in a minibar to make additional money, it would also be helpful for space to store your own drinks or food if you do not want to purchase from the minibar. A microwave would also be handy.
