Absolutely wonderful atmosphere in this idyllic building within accessible distance of Rotura This is an exceptional small hotel where the staff. and fittings are way above average The drive into the hotel and car parking are first rate The team lead by Rajiv are first rate - nothing is too much trouble The luggage lift is necessary for first and second floor rooms The fixed evening meal was very good with exceptionally good service from Viyella Visit ,enjoy and never forget

Very comfortable beds and friendly staff. The room was very clean and great coffee in the room. The grounds are beautiful with beautiful birds, and animals.

Very friendly hard working staff. Note that this is not a five star resort. The gym and pool area are fair. It seems that they are shortstaffed to provide proper service you expect at this price point. The grounds are exceptional and the staff has the potential to provide great service. They are missing food service in the middle of the day. I stayed in a suite above the reception area which was very clean and comfortable. The other couple stayed in a lower level suite below the breakfast room which was very noisy in the morning And the bathroom needs an update The breakfast was very good but the selection on the buffet needs some work. Overall I recommend to stay here as it is nice to get out away from the town of Rotorua.

This was a last minute booking as the hotel we had booked was terrible. The staff where fanatic, it was my wife's birthday and I happened to mention this in passing the staff brought us a bottle of wine the evening we checked in with a little birthday note. Then the following day they brought us a brownie with a candle and sang happy birthday!!!! This really made our day the staff went above and beyond. The hotel was very nice rooms where very nice and clean.

It was expensive but you get what you pay for and this place is very nice

What an amazing property and amongst the friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered in all our travels. Fortunately for us and I guess unfortunately for them we had the entire place to ourselves which made us feel like royalty. The restaurant on site was of a fine dining standard, superb, and great value. The complimentary minibar in our room was something quite unique in this day and age. We stayed in the suite which was extremely comfortable and comprehensively furnished including many lighting options. The park like grounds included exotic birds, alpacas and calves. A bamboo forest. A fountain. Illuminated trees. Interesting sculptures. A tennis court swimming pool 2 spas and a sauna. Inside fresh flowers throughout and original paintings hanging on the walls everywhere.

Only minor concerns but the room could be a little noisy at times when people were moving around upstairs and when entering and leaving the front door. The taps and showerhead in our bathroom were a little leaky.

Beautiful facility with large surrounding park and several quirky sculptures giving the whole property unique character. The restaurant has limited but delicious options for breakfast. Views are stunning. There is a small swimming pool, two outdoor hot tubs and an outdoor sauna. Not far to Rotorua with all its parks and restaurants.

The room was rather small with limited storage space. I used the sauna in the evening and it was pitch black with no lighting around.

We loved the location and grounds as well as the house and the wellness area in the garden. The dinner was great. So was the breakfast.

In our room at the top by the restaurant the lever to run the bath water was not working. Staff were unable to get it going, or to get it repaired. Also, a lot of light was coming in from the room door at night, as the door could not be closed fully. But both of these are only very minor issues. I just mention them for your reference.

A Relaxing Stay at Hana Lodge We recently had the pleasure of spending a night at Hana Lodge in Rotorua. While our stay was brief, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the grand entrance and the beautiful natural surroundings. The presence of rabbits and alpacas (or llamas) added a charming touch to the property. The hotel itself offered excellent facilities, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was well-appointed and comfortable, with everything we needed for a restful night's sleep. The breakfast service was particularly noteworthy. I opted for the "big breakfast," which offered a wide selection of delicious and satisfying options. Overall, we were very impressed with Hana Lodge. Our short stay left us wanting more, and we would certainly consider returning in the future to explore the beautiful Rotorua region more extensively.

We had a large comfortable room with a balcony. Very new and well decorated. Nice bed. The grounds of the property are beautiful, and the staff is lovely and so helpful. I loved that they were displaying a local artist's work throughout the hotel.

Breakfast was okay. We did not eat dinner as the menu was not very deep and they didn't have a liquor license. The hotel is a bit out of the way, so it's necessary to drive 15 minutes to Rotorua. I did hear that they are in the process of redoing their menu and resolving their license issue, which would be a huge plus in the future. We would still stay here again.

Fantastic property, from the grounds to the staff, all great. We must give a special thanks and mention to the Manager that greeted us and took the time to ensure we were all set and welcomed, Michele. She went above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed, and additionally, she also took the time to answer our multitude of questions about what there was to see and do in the area. Michele did all this as she was pulling multiple duties on the property, but she was always happy to help, and even went as far as ensuring we had breakfast when we left at 6:45am one morning. Great place all around.

Nothing comes to mind other than we wish we had more time there.

Beautiful property in a gorgeous setting with fantastic staff. The property was quite new and had good intentions but still needed to work out a few kinks. Loved the property, art works and grounds. So beautiful. There is an opportunity for the hotel to offer guests to see the gorgeous stars in the sky but the front area is so brightly lit that it’s hard to see the stars. Perhaps they could set an area for guests to enjoy it comfortably?

Our shower was small and the fixtures (though beautiful) were leaking and there was painter’s tape still on the vent. The breakfast room needed blinds as the sun was blinding and made the room a little stuffy. We were not motivated to try the dinner as the menu offering did not make it seem like it was going to be something special. It’s too bad bc the setting is a great opportunity for a nice, special dinner.
