A beautifully laid out complex, with hard-working and friendly staff. I really enjoyed morning jogs out along the spit, and of course, the kids enjoyed the theme park. The breakfast was busy but the selection of food was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable and well heated (winter visit).

It's a family resort so expect noise from the early hours. Our rooms were situated near to the elevator, so lots of noise from 7.00AM onward, despite the hotel doing its best to mitigate against this with clear signs asking guests to be respectful. We were also very close to the smoking zone and the cigarette smoke smell was noticeable in the room. In 2025, those who choose to smoke should be forced to leave a family friendly site and smoke by the road so that others don't have to endure their bad habits.

Location convenience

Our room was in a bad position with no view except for a concrete wall.We were there for 3 days and they did not have all the rides operating due to needing service. This was a lie as they obviously did this to save on staff wages so the line up on the rides was too long as they used one ride on 1 day and then closed it for "servicing" and opened another 1 the next day.

We stayed there for 5 days and enjoyed the buffet breakfast and unlimited entrance to Sea World and Movie World during our stay. The buffet had many options, even accommodating my daughter's numerous dietary requirements. We also loved the Dora Disco every Monday. Overall, we were happy with everything the resort had to offer. One minor issue, which was out of their control, was children running up and down the hallways screaming, and the people above our room kept making noise (jumping and moving furniture around) until after 10pm, which kept our daughter, who is a light sleeper, unsettled. Despite this, we will stay here again if we ever visit Gold Coast again.

Considering the Sea World Resort was built in 1988, it is a relatively modern resort so presumably has been renovated a number of times. We had a 2 x double bed unit which was relatively spacious with a good sized bathroom, larger than normal fridge, presumably to cater for the larger families, and lots of storage space for your copious possessions. We would recommend a lower floor unit as this will give you either access to the pool area (noisy) or the garden area (quiet), the latter allowing the kids to play on the grass and for you to have a quiet, leisurely drink under the trees. The pool area is extensive, catering for all ages, but is obviously crowded at peak periods. Plenty of restaurant choices. We had an evening meal in the poolside eatery. Average prices ($27-$35) with kids options. Easy access to Sea World and , if you have a 3 theme park option, the better park in the peak tourist periods. Plenty of parking. In summary, the good place to take the family for a short break.

Pity the monorail into the Sea World complex is no longer operative as this would provide both a good overview of the theme park layout and easier transit between park locations and the Resort. The DJ music in the poolside eatery was too loud, too repetitive and I suspect of minimal entertainment value to the diners and close by pool users. Whilst this issue is not specific to the Resort, access to Movie World as part of a 3-park pass was very disappointing. Whilst admittedly we went at what was probably the busiest period of the year (post-Xmas), a 120 minute on virtually every ride, makes the rides almost inaccessible. 6 hours of queuing on a hot summer day for about 12 minutes of ride (3 rides) would not be fun, even for the most patient of park attendees.

The resort had lots to keep the kids busy and excited. We enjoyed having options for dinner, Melrose was great, as well as having the option to takeaway or order room service. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The location of the resort to Seaworld with the private entrance was helpful to go back for a quick rest. The premium twin queen room was basic and comfortable, all that was needed to just rest. A visit from SpongeBob after breakfast was a bit exciting. We would definitely stay again.

The breakfast at shoreline was ok, there were lots of options though we didn't fancy the warm food so much, the eggs were a bit sloppy. It's very busy which you can expect at a resort but a little overwhelming during peak breakfast time with noise and people darting everywhere. More wet weather options for the kids would be great, the resort is definitely in need of a spruce up.

The staff were very welcoming and professional. They made the stay a positive experience and were so happy to help. Their vibe was part of the overall vibe of the resort. We loved the resort was walking distance to SeaWorld and had great food options so we did not need to get in the car and leave. Love that theme park tickets are included too.

The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. It also had a really long pillow. It could not fit two of the long pillows on, but was not big enough for two people to share. The breakfast area is also very crowded and it’s hard to get back to your table because it’s so cramped and people are at chairs and tables blocking the way whilst they eat too.

Easy check in and out process. Parking included. Spacious rooms, comfy beds. Great having both shower and bath options with the kids. Good room location and lovely views. Great kids water play area, too cold for winter but would be busy in summer im sure. Nightly light show with music which the kids loved. Heated pool is good. Room service fast and efficient. Easy access to seaworld. Yummy food options. Staff were all friendly, very positive experience. Would like to come back again someday.

Downside, breakfast chaos! I wasn't expecting travelling in off peak to be as busy as it was when the resort wasn't full. Breakfast starts 6.30 and flows well until about 7.30 then there was massive lines and a good 20 to 30min wait to even get into breakfast. The selection was good variety. But crazy busy wait times. The spa was cold! We were hoping for a hot spa, but was only the same temp if not colder than the pool so didnt meet expectations of the term "spa" Can be a little noisy mornings and evenings with kids running around yelling outside, however was expected being a family resort. Restaurants and limited menu also made it challenging for dinner meals.

While we had a good time overall at Sea World Resort, there were a few things that didn’t quite meet our expectations. The rooms felt a bit dated and could use some upgrades, especially for the price. Some of the dining options were limited and quite expensive, with not many healthy or fresh choices for families staying multiple days. The resort can also get quite crowded, especially during school holidays, which made the common areas like the pool and breakfast buffet a bit chaotic. A bit more organisation around check-in and clearer communication about resort activities would also help improve the experience.

Even though Sea World Resort hasn't changed since the last time I stayed over 5 years ago the facilities are in great condition the rooms look like they've been upgraded and It was very comfortable. Although the resort feels like it is away from everything it has a few restaurants but only a few minutes from Marina Mirage shops, Southport, Surfers Paradise so in a great position, close to the beach. The option to also have free breakfast buffet and theme park admission for our stay was great, easy online check-in, text when room was ready and emailing of theme park ticket were all great time savers.

Beds were a little firm and pillows a little too thick but personal preference, internet was slow but other than that had a brilliant time. Miss the monorail 😞

Although recently renovated, the resort is nearly 40 years old and still retains a distinct 1980s look and feel (some may argue its charm) in both its design and atmosphere. That said, it offers excellent value for money. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious, and each booking comes with generous complimentary theme park tickets(four parks included and two-day pass for one night of stay). The included breakfast buffet is also well above typical hotel standards. Overall, for visiting families, staying at the resort can lead to substantial savings without compromising comfort or convenience.
