This hotel is in a fantastic location, in the middle of the old town and on a busy street with lots of good restaurants, cafes and shops. It was a very convenient spot for getting around Sarajevo. It is only a small hotel and the rooms are also relatively small especially the bathroom. But the rooms are clean, comfortable and well set up with everything you need. The AC was very good, the room always remained cool even when it was very hot outside. And the hotel was quiet even though it was busy outside. The staff were always welcoming. Breakfast is ok. Definitely a good value stay.

Our main issue is that the pillows were very soft.

We recently stayed at Hotel Old Sarajevo and I couldn't be more satisfied with the entire experience. From the moment me and my kids arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Check-in was smooth and friendly, and the level of professionalism and hospitality throughout my stay was top-notch. The hotel is located in the center, heart of Sarajevo, at Bascarsija. We were afraid that we couldnt sleep due to the city sound but the room and place was quiet and peaceful! The hotel and room was like Bascarsija, old but new, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail—from the quality of the bedding to the thoughtful amenities—showed a real commitment to guest comfort. What really stood out, though, was the attention to detail and the genuine care from the staff. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, and their warmth truly enhanced the overall experience. And also when we checked out and returned a couple of days later, the staff was so warm, helpful and wonderful! I will absolutely be returning every year and I recommend Old Hotel Sarajevo to anyone looking for a comfortable, elegant, and welcoming place to stay. A five-star experience all the way!

I feel sorry that I have to mention it because the staff is so courteous and I would book the hotel again...but considering that this review should be helpful for other travellers: the cleaning really needs a boost! mould in the bathroom, hair and dust and sticky stains all over etc. linens and towels seemed to be fine and fresh though

Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Sarajevo The location is perfect—right in a pedestrian area close to restaurants, shops, and key attractions, all within easy walking distance. Our room was clean, modern, and well looked after. Housekeeping staff were friendly and clearly proud of their work. Reception staff were welcoming and very helpful, offering local maps, guidance on nearby sights, and advice on where to buy SIM cards. One staff member even brought us iced water on a hot day, which was a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly welcome. The room was a comfortable size and had everything we needed for our stay. A big thank you to the hotel for arranging our airport transfer with Omo, a professional, English-speaking driver who made our arrival smooth and stress-free. We’d definitely stay here again!

An excellent base for exploring Sarajevo. The hotel couldn’t be in a better location! Right on the edge of the old town, next to City Hall and the river. It was great to be able to drop things off in your room or have a quick rest without having to walk far. All the major sights are within walking distance. The hotel doesn’t look much from the outside but the coolness of reception after the heat of the streets is so welcoming. There is a pleasant reception area where tea, coffee, fruit and cookies are available free of charge all day. All of the reception staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are really nice with everything you need for a short stay. The beds are comfortable and the room has a lovely padded bench seat to relax on. Our windows opened onto the busy pedestrian street but we weren’t bothered by noise. There is a really popular restaurant right opposite open until 11pm but the windows keep out the noise well. It was great to be able to eat such good local food right across the street! The bathrooms are fine and were clean but the shower could do with scrubbing with some bleach and a toothbrush around the edges and the grout. We loved being able to walk everywhere - all the museums, churches, mosques and the cable car all very close. A fascinating city - an interesting mix of East and West. Great bakery - pekara Edin just across the road from the famous fountain at Baščašija - sells fantastic breakfast pastries and savoury items - perfect for breakfast and lunch. So many lovely restaurants all around the hotel and a bar just on the corner by City Hall. Parking available in an underground car park just 5 minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Sarajevo.

The bathroom needed some bleach around the shower and tiles. The pillows are useless! Otherwise everything was great!

A great property located central in Old Town Sarajevo, walking distance from pretty much any point of interest in the city. My room was great, spacious, and had everything I needed for a comfy stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, shoutout to Arduana for giving me a warm welcome when I arrived. The breakfast in the morning was good. Price was really good too.

Nothing I can really say I didn’t like about the property. I loved everything.

Ahmed at reception was the star of our stay. We booked very late, called, and he came out to meet us in our car and advised about the available parking options. Since Sarajevo is not the safest for street parking, we opted for a secure underground garage across the bridge. We were lucky to just fit in with our 2.5m tall car. It is very expensive though, 25EUR/day, but worth the peace of mind. Ahmed then took great care of us for the rest of our stay, recommended places to eat and we had a great conversation with him and another guest about Bosnia and its sad history and current situation. The hotel is conveniently located on the edge of the pedestrian old town, everything is very close and available. It is a very touristy area though. The wifi internet was available in the room and also breakfast lobby (ideal if you need to do some laptop work during the day). The speed was not enough for video calls but ok for voice calls and browsing. There is 4G coverage though so we used that for video calls.

The building is historic and protected so there is a limit to what type of facility it can offer. Space is scarce, our room (no1) was very tiny, large luggage would not fit at all and bathroom also extremely small. We could hear everything from the corridor /lobby but despite the hotel being full, it is only 8 rooms and did not feel busy so no noised bothered us too much.

incredible location in the heart of Old Town. walk out the door and you’re in the middle of the charm of it all. Staff were fantastic and made us Bosnian coffee several times upon request. of course, coffee machine, tea, and fresh fruit were available 24/7. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Absolutely recommend Hotel Old Sarajevo as an outstanding option. Will stay here again on future visits!

Super clean, friendly and professional staff, well located for old Town and sarajevo attractions. Special thank you to the owner of the Hotel. He heard my conversation with the receptionist over getting an urgent Dental appointment. Phoned his Dentist, drove me to the surgery and took me to the receptionist, explained in Bosinia what the issue was. I was treated the same day. Thank you so much. I had a tooth extracted.. Still hurts!@

I will be back and this hotel, regardless of my Dental issues the Hotel is highly recommended
