Restaurant was great for breakfast but not so much for dinner- seemed staff were short it disorganised. Food arrived in cold plates and before wine did

The reception team was very helpful and efficient in finding and booking the restaurants in the towns around the hotel.

Everything was relaxing except when the maintenance people started to clean the floor in the massage area and touchup the paint on the walls at the pools area.

Great location closed to Pisa. Quiet historical place. nice 18 century building with great thermal water swimming pools and spa. Nice crew, very professional and always ready to help. excellent restaurant. Good well equipped and comfortable rooms. Easy to park. real nice place to be.

We loved this hotel. Thank you for the room upgrade, but we would have liked it so much regardless of the room. It’s is classically styled so if you like ultra modern then don’t book it. If you want a hotel with some history, lovely soft towels, lovely toiletries, spa facilities in a lovely little town then visit. It was about 10 mins away from the main square in Pizza with the tower and duomo, and 20 mins from the airport, but in a quiet town with a couple not nice restaurants nearby if you don’t want to eat in the hotel. The spa was lovely, some people moan that it’s dirty - it was not, it is mineral rich water. There is cold water and fruit made available in the afternoon. People say it’s confusing to find your way around but if you use the stairs instead of the lifts then it’s much easier. And the staff were always helpful when we were walking around. And parking directly outside. Not sure what else I can say but it’s a perfect place to stay during a Tuscany road trip or visit to Pisa only.

Old world charm, attention to detail, super clean, beautiful building, lovely staff, gorgeous room with the highest ceiling I've ever seen. Our room on the lower floor had a ceiling of what looked like 6 meters! nice and cool in summer, with good AC. (the upper floor has lower ceilings and his hotter in summer.) Restaurant upstairs had simple but great food, beautiful room and breakfast buffet was fantastic with 7 different types of local fruit pies and cakes, plus all usual breakfast foods - great selection. Easy parking outdoors in front of hotel surrounded by very tall trees for shade.

It's a beautiful building and location, but the staff truly make the experience exceptional. Dario & the team in the restaurant, impeccable service and great recommendations. Helena & Rosalie in the spa were also amazing.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were always helpful and very polite with a couple of individuals going out of their way to be welcoming and reassuring - Nicolo and Dario for example. The Reception were happy to provide maps and hints on where to go - Pisa obviously but also suitable beaches and the nearby nature reserve. Breakfast was excellent consisting of local produce (honey, biscuits and bread). Evening meal was a la carte although there was apparently an option to go half board - which was not shown on the booking.com as an option. We sampled most of the menu and enjoyed most. Not all the a la carte was available for the half board option - for example, lobster with spaghetti and the grilled lobster options. In the evening, the meal was either in the garden (weather permitting) or inside. The gardens include a good climb through olive groves providing great views of the valley around Pisa (about 10 mins drive away) and the setting sun. The sauna was excellent, well maintained and clean. The sauna was on the same floor as an outdoor swimming pool (which made for an excellent resting spot - post sauna). There was a nicely sized exercise room with bicycle, treadmills (3). There was a water dispenser also for all to use. The Turkish bath was on the ground floor underneath and had options for different using three salts (e.g. with essence of ginger or orange) and mud for massaging in between using the Turkish Bath and the ample showers for cleaning. Did not try the many healing pools and spa water but they were well staffed.

Spa facilities were lovely. The food and wine at the restaurant were great. We rented bikes and it was a lovely cycle into Pisa through the countryside - really lovely setting. Staff in the spa were very helpful.

Generally found the service was not very attentive - at breakfast and at dinner it was difficult to get the attention of staff and be served. Staff in the restaurant were a bit cold and distant with us but seemed ok with other guests - we thought maybe because we are from the UK or looked young? We got the impression we were not very welcome which was a bit awkward! But it was a still a lovely weekend because of how beautiful the hotel and setting was and the staff at the spa were very nice

This hotel was amazing. The room was beautiful and bathroom stunning. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The spa was unbelievable and we really liked the salt and mud.
