We arrived the location and it was very straight forward from the central station. The hotel was situated close to the ovo hydro which was the reason for our stay and it was within walkable distance but we had to use a taxi on account of poor weather. The most interesting thing was the spa, the free sauna, steam room, pool, and gym facilities. We had always wanted to get a couples massage and that was made possible here. My man was psyched about the all you can eat meal situation, because men obviously love food. Our room was spacious with easy lift or stairs access and had multiple windows treating us to a promising view of the city. One option we considered was booking an airbnb, I'm happy we didn't. We'd love to come again and get the same treatment.
I didn't like that we booked this place for only 2 days and we have a busy work life that couldn't afford us to stay longer. We sped up the experience but yet it will stay with us for a good while until our next stay.

Staff are very helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable with excelleny decor. It can be easy to miss as I walked from central station (only 10 minutes) and it wasn't signposted from Argyll St (presumably because it's pedestrian only access from that end of the street). But I enjoyd my stay there; breakfast is excellent; and the location is an easy walk into town. Compared to many other hotels in the same price bracket, I thought the hotel was excellent.
Nothing really. I had to ask a couple if they knew where the hotle was as it's not obvious if you walk from Central Station along Argyll St. That notwithstanding, I'd definately stay there again.

Rooms are big and beds are very comfortable. Hotel is a walking distance from city centre and near the river.
Furniture in the room is quite old and tired, there's no refrigirator in the room, breakfast is basically only english: no salami or cheese, no "normal" bread, just toast. Too little choice for a hotel this size. If you don't change the towels during your stay, they offer you a voucher for a free drink (which is a positive approach) - but you need to pay attention to request it in the evening before your checkout, because the bar opens at 5pm and you can not use the voucher otherwise.

Restaurant was nice and staff were friendly, the facilities were good. Really close to the River and easy walking distance to the Event Centre.
The hot water was tinged brown for the whole stay when reported I was told if it was let to run it should be okay and there had been some works going on locally. I said that it had been ran because my friend wanted a bath, I was told they’d give it a good run when we left. There was not offer to change room and the key cards kept stopping to give access. I could feel the springs in the mattress so I slept on the duvet.

The breakfast was nice good selection of things would love to see some black pudding added. The swimming pool was clean and the shallow end a good depth that I could play with my daughter who cant swim. Food in the restaurant was nice reasonably priced it was £25 for a meal for myself and my daughter with a drink each. Room was huge very spacious with lots of little touches kettle/iron/ hairdryer/bathrobe/slippers/bodywash and shampoo. Will definitely be back again.
If I had to be persnickety and pick something the toilet roll holder was too far away for my daughter to reach it which was a minor pain and there was no bottled water available to purchase behind the bar. However there was a water station next to the front desk again a minor pain having to go back and forth refilling bottles. But these things wouldn't put me off returning.

Staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming from check-in to check-out. So impressed, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are a great size and very clean. Beds are super comfy. Breakfast was delicious, the buffet had great options and the staff were so polite and efficient keeping everything topped up. We attended a gig at the Hydro and the location was ideal, only a 15/20 minute walk or 5 mins by train which run every 10 mins. I usually stay closer but the prices of the closer hotels were over £100 more per room, so the Argyll was much more reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again and recommend to all.

The staff were very nice - James, who checked me in, was really excellent (friendly, lovely manner, well-presented, covered everything and was still happy to answer my extra questions)! The room was good and spacious and the bed comfortable. The TV wasn't a smart TV but the picture was actually decent, which isn't always a given in hotel rooms with slightly older TVs. There was quite a lot of storage space as well, and the bathroom wasn't tiny. I was very pleasantly surprised. The general state and upkeep of the common areas of the hotel that I saw was also very good - modern and everything kept clean and tidy.
There wasn't a safe, which I was surprised by as I thought that was quite standard. If I'd checked the listing more carefully though then I'm sure I'd have seen not to expect one. There also wasn't a fridge/minibar, which was also probably reflected in the listing and isn't really an essential anyway. It would have been nice to have been able to sign into Netflix, etc. on the TV but it was an old non-smart TV so it was only Freeview that was available. The cleaners also hadn't put bin bags in the bins, which I thought was odd. The bath also felt a bit dated. This is all just nit-picking though.

This is a fine hotel in the making. Getting better every time I stay. Gym is great.
The classic raw hotel breakfast experience. People are too polite, I could hear everybody moaning about the "cooked" breakfast, but just not telling the staff. On day 2 I just had the nice stuff other than cooked. If you like un-rendered boiled bacon, a snotty egg, sausages nearly cooked on one side, then this is the place for you. The Sauna has never worked in all the time I have been, so don't believe the "its just happened" story. The pool rules are flaky at best, the pool is a kids toilet, so keep your eyes out of the water. Turkish is great! This hotel needs a better bar policy, there are staff available, but never serving drinks at working people time. Residents should be able to access something so easy as a bottle of beer anytime.

Slightly out of the centre but a lovely 10-15 minute walk along the river into the centre. Lovely, friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. They facilitated a room move (we wanted a room with one double bed not two) without a problem. Lovely airy room with loads of space. Extra tea and coffee available easily from reception. The pool was a decent size and jacuzzi fabulous after a day walking - they weren't rigid about opening times (as long as they had someone available). Such friendly staff - when i asked the bar man if there was somewhere I could buy chocolate he opened his tub of celebrations and shared them with me. Thankyou
I can't think of anything I disliked

Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The staff were friendly and professional at all times. Excellent breakfast too. Will definitely be back.
It was advertised that the pool was just open from 4pm, so we had a great swim when we first arrived. We were then told that the pool should be open in the morning, subject to staffing. We waited around on the Saturday morning, but in the end it didn't open until later. The same happened on the Sunday morning. I appreciate that staffing issues could not be avoided, and the hotel did not guarantee morning openings, but it might have been better to have been told it wouldn't open if unsure instead of hanging about in case. In the end, just a small issue, it didn't spoil our visit. First world problems!
