a nice, little bit quirky property with very helpful staff. Location to river and ferries was excellent. Good range of eateries nearby or within easy access.

Nothing that i didn’t like. initially the location didnt seem appealing but we simply didn’t know the area as well as we could have so chose the work directions when strolling locally. The proximity to city and river ferries made up for our not being familiar with the area. Rooftop bar not being open when enjoying the pool was a bit of a downer but overcome by being able to grab a refreshing drink from bar downstairs to bring poolside.

We stayed at X Hotel on a Saturday night and honestly, it was better than we expected. The room was super clean and felt really freshlike, and the best part,  totally soundproof. We didn’t hear a single thing from the road or outside noise, which made it easy to fully relax and sleep in. The pool area was a clean, peaceful, and just the right vibe. We ended up spending more time there than we thought we would and the food was incredible. Location-wise, it was spot on. We could walk everywhere in the Valley and so close to Howard Smith wharfs for sunset drinks on the river. Would definitely stay again, we left feeling like we’d had a proper little escape.

The hotel is clean, spacious, and well-located—though it’s a bit far from South Bank, it’s conveniently close to the Story Bridge. Breakfast is served à la carte, and while it was included for the two rooms we booked (each accommodating 2 adults and 1 child), we were informed at the table that breakfast was not included for the children (both under 12). This was a bit disappointing given the room rates. Overall, it’s a fairly good choice, but you can find better value for your money at other hotels in the same area.

The location was perfect and walkable distance to everything that week needed during our stay. The staff were friendly and also allowed for a very flexible last minute early check-in.

The only thing that could have improved the stay was the tap in the shower appeared to not be working, there were two shower heads but you could only use one and the nossel to change this appeared loose. Also, it is important to note that there is very minimal privacy on the toilet! Transparent doors to the bathroom and the toilet is right next to it so I would suggest only staying with someone who you are very close with!

Everything was great, loved the bathroom products and I appreciated that they matched the scent being diffused in the lobby. A trend I experienced in a Sydney motel too. I appreciate the attention to detail.

We ran out of coffee pods, asked for more at reception when we returned from dinner so we could have a cuppa before bed but they never came.

Always stay at Hotel X when in town for work. Excellent staff, rooms and rooftop, highly recommend. Value for money also in a great location.

The only comment I would make is - when hosting private events, don’t let it happen to the detriment of the guests staying at the hotel. Guests around the pool were told no service or food or beverages from 4pm because of private event that evening. It was a packed pool and a 30+ degree day. A shortsighted and disappointing decision. The private party will not be reviewing the hotel but the guests will, something to consider in future.

Location was brilliant close to everything you could want, lovely room, great rooftop pool

The pillows were not comfortable and all the same. The roof top bar/restaurant Iris was terrible. Prawns weren’t washed 🤮 very disappointed. It was meant to be rapid but every dish had chorizo in it making it taste the same.

Excellent breakfast with outstanding coffee in the Bisou Bisou restaurant downstairs: Maître D' was a lovely fun French women who added to the breakfast experience. Swimming pool was very refreshing and clean with comfortable loungers. Relaxing lighting options in the room. Very comfortable bed. Great location to James St and shopping/cafes/restaurants. Whispering aircon and double-glazed windows means we had a couple of very quite night of sleep.

Was very challenging and cumbersome to use the television/chrome/casting technology supplied to get TV entertainment functioning (20 minutes). TV didn't allow for personal HDMI input so couldn't use my laptop and the TV together for work or entertainment. Toilet in the room lacks privacy with semi-transparent door, no sound proofing, gaps in the door - quite a design flaw. Parking was a struggle with a traffic jam at the hotel entrance and round-the-block circuit to get back into the carpark after check-in.

Rooms presented well, modern and great location. Staff very friendly although I had no idea some of the lifts locked out from going to the rooftop after 10pm, would have been nice to know upon checkin.

Room wasnt very clean, there was what looked like cream / mayonaise on the carpet on multiple spots, around the coffee table there was clothing tags and a lot of dust

Location is perfect with plenty of dining and bar options close by. The staff were fantastic, the room was nice and quiet. The rooftop is great with a fantastic view, good service and a variety of seating options.

Parking price, room service options (GF), the rooftop bar food options and their prices could easily be improved.
