Wonderful hotel with rich history, perfect location and stunning design. Spa facilities are top notch: multiple heated pool and jacuzzis, both indoor and outdoor, salt cave, saunas. We enjoyed the spa so much. We celebrated our anniversary that day and the hotel staff left some nice gifts for us in the room when we checked in, it was so thoughtful and shows that they actually pay attention and care.
The only downside for us was non-existent view from the room, but we knew about that when we were booking the room. Try to book a room with a view because standard ones will be overlooking some internal yard area with ventilations and other hotel infrastructure.

The room and facilities. The little touches such as oat milk in my room due to being lactose intolerance.
Wasn't the hotels fault, but our room was next to barking dogs that woke us up a few times. The owners also left them during the evening, and they were barking and howling for two hours. We rang reception as we was concerned Not sure what happened.

Whole experience was fantastic, the room overlooked Fistral Beach (3rd Flr), the breakfast was to die for, the hotel itself is wonderful, the SPA is an added bonus. All staff we met were excellent, reception, porters, bar, spa, waiters/waitresses, maître de, maintenance, concierge, room cleaning - helpful and always willing to assist or share a chat - these people put the hotel miles above the rest. Well done Headland staff - 10/10
The SPA could get a little crowded in the afternoons. You have to watch your spending as booking things to your room could give you a nasty shock on check out day. £10 for a single G&T - uumm. They add a service charge to every bill and then there's a tip section on it - always worth checking before you sign.

Great hotel and location. The staff were all a pleasure to deal with and the feel of the hotel is spot on. The facilities are excellent and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a hotel. Will definitely stay again.
Found the amount of guest owned dogs in the hotel unusual, but it didn’t impact on our stay.

Great hotel, fantastic location. Breakfast was terrific.
Check in staff very slow and i had to give my email and car registration three times due to their not being able to work the tablet on reception. For three days we were told to go to the bar to order drinks (as no table service) which we did with no bother but then when the bar got busy (on the Saturday) we were dismissed quite rudely by the barman (in a blue waistcoat) and told we would be served at the table and not to wait at the bar. We ended up going to the Ugly Butterfly where service was first class and would highly recommend for food and drinks. No shade at all on the terrace.

This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location, with super views over Fistral beach. The staff was very accommodating -- a special shout-out to the duty manager, Sarah-Jane, who solved one of the problems we faced -- and the breakfast was excellent. Judy welcomed us very well on arrival. Fistral Beach is very impressive and has several very good eating options. The hotel restaurants also looked very good and the bar was very relaxing.
When we visited in June, it was starting to get warm, and the rooms appeared to lack air conditioning beyond a desk fan. I imagine this could make things uncomfortable in the heat of the summer.

The quality of the furnishings. Bed was very comfortable. Very clean. Food was very good. Staff very friendly. Liked the Deck area. Spa very clean. Mints on departure were a nice touch.
Dogs at breakfast! I don’t want to eat where dogs are shaking(who knows what they are shedding where we are eating) and barking. Yes I have a dog but dont treat it like a child it is treated like a dog! Delay at breakfast had to chase tea/coffee. When joined by others had to ask for cutlery then no napkins. Seating by the curtain which took quite bit of space at the table and the circular seat in the middle of the restaurant felt like eating on a roundabout. Although the view from the table was outstanding.

This hotel is beautiful - location is stunning, fabulous facilities - spa pools etc. The best thing about the Headland is the staff. Everyone was so welcoming, very helpful, always ready to please. The service in the restaurant and bars was impeccable. I use a mobility scooter and they gave me a room near a lift and the concierges were always there to open the front door for me as I went in and out. On check in, the receptionist kindly took us on a tour of the hotel and showed us around - a really nice touch. We ate three nights in the hotel, Terrace restaurant twice & Renmor one night - food was excellent in all. We are recommending the hotel to all our friends because of the staff.

Check in, standard of room with its excellent views and the general ambience of the place with very attentive staff willing at all times to help. Didn't have time to use all the facilities but had a look at all. We go to the hotel for drinks and coffee quite often when visiting Newquay from our home in St Agnes so know it quite well. Would recommend .
The evening meal was very good but felt the kitchen were under extreme pressure from the numbers dining and the wait for your orders was over long and the wrong order was brought out for one of my guests (but the correct order coming late was not charged for) and trying to order and get coffee on the balcony was far too slow so we left it.

Loved the staff who were all friendly, location was great and the interior design was lovely. Great breakfast. Spa was gorgeous and so nice to experience it an unlimited amount during our stay.
We visited in June in warm weather. The room was sweltering and there is no aircon. You have to have all windows open and the desk fan on all the time, but with the windows open the seagulls were extremely noisy, so ended up having 4 quite bad nights sleep. Understand it’s a big undertaking to put a/c in every room, but it was quite uncomfortable.
