The Quest on Lambton was the perfect choice for our first-time 5-day stay in Wellington. From the airport, we jumped on the #8 bus (you will need NZ dollars obtained from the Bank ATM at the airport; (it's not a "rip off" ATM that adds extra fees). Get off the bus on Lambton, and the Quest is 15 steps from the bus stop. You don't even need to cross the street. Head up the elevator to the 4th floor and you'll be greeted by friendly, professional staff. Our room, on the 7th floor, was a typically sized hotel room, but designed for maximum functionality. Small kitchen area but FULLY equipped. Bathroom very modern. Combo washer/dryer in bathroom SO convenient. Bed very comfortable, great lighting, excellent wi-fi speed. Everything new, modern and SPOTLESSLY clean. Needless to say, terrific location right in the heart of Wellington's CBD. And FYI, if your heading to Christchurch, check out the Quest on Cambridge. We stayed there as well and were just as pleased (see my review) In short, a great property at a great price. Nope, I don't work for Quest and nobody paid me to write this review! One more tip: Check out the Spark telecommunications kiosk at the airport after you go through passport control. A 10 gig SIM card with unlimited local texts and calling was only 20 USD and worked perfectly, and it included min for international calling. You can surf the web till the cows come home!

I've stayed up nights racking my brain and nope, can't think of anything to complain about. Even my husband who has a PhD in complaining couldn't find fault with the Quest.

We really liked the location it was super convenient to the bus stop and also the countdown and other shops. The staff were very friendly and the room was nice and clean. The bed was nice and firm which we liked. The TV was also equipped with loads of movies and lots of new releases too!

The main thing was the windows don't open at all so the room can get very stuffy with no ventilation. The walls are a bit thin as well but apart from that everything was great.

Compact, Functional, and Perfect for a Short Stay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a great stay here! The space is compact but smartly functional, making excellent use of every corner. It came fully equipped with all the amenities and new appliances, which were easy to use and made our stay super convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location couldn’t be better—walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and the harbor. We especially appreciated how everything we needed was right at our doorstep. Overall, we’d highly recommend this place for a short stay—comfortable, convenient, and well thought-out!

There’s paid ($25/day) parking offsite, which worked fine in the end, but they could improve communication regarding parking arrangements prior to arrival—a quick heads-up would’ve made things smoother. Driving up to the parking floor was an adventure. lol

The room was very well-appointed and spacious. The hotel's location is fantastic and we did not miss having a car in the city once we dropped it off on arrival because it was easy to get everywhere from this Quest facility, including catching the airport shuttle bus right across the street when it was time to leave. The only thing it doesn't have is laundry, but luckily we didn't need it since it's so abundant across other New Zealand hotels. Worth noting that we didn't have any noise issues either and enjoyed a very quiet stay.

Very minor things like more hooks in the bathroom would have made the stay even better but really no substantive complaints at all.

This wonderful place ticked all the boxes for us. The location is perfect, close to all the things we wanted to experience while we were in Wellington. Really well maintained by the lovely, helpful staff, comfortable beds, and, for a city centre, remarkably quiet.

The one elevator caused some anxiety when it refused to go to level 2 (for the car park) We found a way around that but with quite a bit of luggage and an early ferry to catch we could have done without this little issue. Also the ramp into the car park is very tight, anything bigger than a medium sized car is a challenge.

The staff were top notch! The room felt very modern, it had a good kitchen, washer/dryer, cosy dining area, good tvs. The bed was very comfortable. The cleanliness was also top notch. The parking was reserved and arranged ahead of time (paid) and we had no problems with it! Though it is not in the same building so beware of that. The location was excellent! Not only it was super easy to drive from the ferry and also to leave from hotel traveling north but it is also in the bustling city part with plenty of shops and restaurants! The cable car is next door! Botanical garden is within walking distance as well.

It was my first time back in Wellington after many years and Quest really made my work trip comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were very friendly, professional and responsive to my requests. My apartment was perfect for me and had all facilities that I would need for 4 days stay. Bed was comfortable, washer/dryer in my bathroom was nice, had free wifi and had nice entertainment on the TV. Location was great and in close proximity to my works office as well as conference venue, local landmarks/sites and many important stores that I frequented (e.g Woolworths and eateries). I didn’t have to bring much to Wellington as quest had that covered in my room so I am very thankful.

Great location, very central. Comfortable. Clean. Spacious. Each room had its own modern and clean washer and dryer which was so useful. Bed was really comfortable (and had a sheet, not just a quilt which was uncommon across our NZ trip). Little kitchenette was great size, clean, useful. Temperature control. Black out curtains.

Hard to fault. If anything, would say it’s not super easy to find, and not easy to unload bags from car as no dedicated parking spot out front (short loading zone only). Parking was a little tricky if you have a car.

Good location near the waterfront. The manager Koa was courteous, considerate and helpful. Upon my request for a quiet room, he gave me an upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment facing an inner courtyard and provided a late checkout upon learning my late departing flight. Everything in the apartment was clean, well-equipped and comfortable. I will stay there again when I am in Wellington again.

Not every driver knows where this relatively new hotel is located. So, make sure you are in front of this very hotel before you are persuaded by your driver to get off. My Uber dropper me off at a wrong place with all my heavy luggage when I first arrived from the airport (and Uber then ignored my complaint filed later).

This place was incredible, one of the best hotels I've stayed at in a long time. Very comfortable and clean, nice kitchenette, full washer and dryer, lots of hot water in the shower, very quiet. Staff was helpful and friendly. They allowed me to keep my luggage there while I went over to Picton to do some hiking since I was returning to the hotel a couple days later. Really great location, easy walk to everywhere in the CBD of Wellington. I would absolutely stay here again if I ever go back to Wellington!
