Friendly, professional staff. The hotel has that old charm and elegance that I personally look for. Beautiful view from the bar and excellent breakfast.

The one thing that is a downside for me is I noticed shark fin soup on the menu. With what we know now of this cruel practice, this would prevent me from staying at The Majestic again. I am sure that this hotel has a talented chef and crew which could create an array of other choices. I would love to stay there again but I can't as long as that's on the menu.

The Saigon Majestic Hotel is a beautiful French Colonial Hotel build in the 1920's when the French occupied Vietnam, It has been beautifully restored to its original elegance and its location right on the Saigon River can't be beat! The staff is super helpful, courteous, and speak very good English. The open bar and restaurants overlooking the Saigon River is a view that makes every drink and meal a special experience, and the area is extremely safe with all the high-end and even bargain shopping you could hope for with plenty of ATM's and transportation available.

As being a hotel from the 1920's, there's lots of different floor elevations with steps & stairs even to access the elevators, and even a stool is required to access the tub and shower in the rooms. So, the Saigon Majestic is NOT a good place for the disabled and infirm. Also, my tub & shower drained very slowly which wasn't surprising with a hotel from the 1920's.

First and foremost, the team at the hotel is outstanding. Every staff member knew exactly what to do and how to answer our questions. If they didn’t have the answer, they helped us find it. They also gave us great hints and tips about the area. Most importantly, they always had a smile on and genuinely cared about us as guests. It’s a tough job to face people day in and day out, and we have a lot of respect for their endless enthusiasm and friendliness. On several occasions, the staff approached us in the lobby to see if we needed help with anything. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING. You made our stay very enjoyable, and we truly appreciated our time in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as exploring the surrounding areas. We loved it and will definitely return to Vietnam!

I can't say anything bad about the hotel. We didn't have any negative experiences. However, (maybe) the management could improve by better advertising the Christmas Eve dinner. We found ourselves alone in the dining room, enjoying what felt like a private concert by the band—not that I'm complaining! Despite this, the dinner was high quality and superbly prepared. The service was impeccable. I'm sure other guests would have enjoyed such a holiday feast, but perhaps they weren't aware it was happening at the hotel.

We were excited to stay in this iconic 5* hotel and it did not disappoint. The lobby was very impressive, as was our enormous room which overlooked the pool area. The air conditioning worked well in communal areas and in the bedroom, which we were grateful for! The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. Location in district 1 is perfect and all the staff were lovely. We enjoyed a happy hour cocktail in the rooftop bar which has great views over the Saigon River. Highly recommended as a special treat when visiting Ho Chi Minh City.

The hotel and rooftop bar/restaurant are quite expensive by Vietnam standards, but still much less than we would pay in London.

We got good value for money (of course this depends on your booking), an opportunity to live in a historic building in Saigon. The interior evokes the French era, yet it doesn't feel dated. Bed is clean and comfortable, shower has good water pressure and hot water, room is spacious with pool view. Despite being next to a busy road, the pool side room was quiet. The staff was quite accommodating, our 11yo son travelled with us last minute, they arranged a reasonable surcharge using existing king sized bed.

While breakfast was OK, I felt it didn't match the same level as the other 5 star hotels. The bar on the 7th floor also lacked atmosphere, cocktails were charged premium prices, but was prepared in a simplistic way.

What a magnificent hotel, it has the real wow factor. It's location is perfect for District 1, the main square and cultural sights. Beautiful old building both inside and out. We had a spectacular suite, with a huge bed with the most luxurious bed linen. We had doors that opened onto the pool side. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was served on the 5th floor with an amazing view of the river, you can sit outside or inside. The breakfast choice is excellent. We had a cocktail on the rooftop bar, at sunset. The views across the river and city are fantastic, as the buildings start to light up. For UK prices this hotel is a bargain, so I would recommend you treat yourself. You wouldn't be disappointed

It is a beautiful historic hotel overlooking the river, about 10 minutes walk from the central post office and opera house. Despite being in the middle of Saigon chaos, the hotel is calm and relaxing. The bar on the 8th floor has great cocktails and a spectacular view. Breakfast has a wide variety of Vietnamese and western options and is served on the 5th floor with views of the river. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We were upgraded to a suite which was a treat. The decor is more ‘grand traditional’ rather than ‘swish and modern’ which suited us. Finally the staff were quietly efficient, everything cleaned and sorted before you have to ask.

Iconic old hotel overlooking river. Rooms aged but large and comfortable. My request for a large double bed face the pool was honoured. Despite bustle and noise outside, the hotel was quiet and peaceful, especially the pool area. Excellent breakfast on rooftop overlooking river. Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to heart of District 1 in HCMC.

Shower was aged and barely adequate (fixed too low to get under without bending). AC unit (a necessity in HCMC) blew directly over the pillows on the bed.

The hotel is located right at city center and itself is one of the city's landmark. There are many nice resturant, bar, and convient shop around. The hotel is old but well maintained, with fancy old french style architecture and decoration. We stayed in the room with beclondy, the room is spacious and comfortable. The belcony offers a good view to the river and we were lucky to watch the reunification day events just from our room. It was amazing. Breakfast is quite nice with a lot of varities. Beef Pho cooked better than a lot of resturants elsewere.

All that I can think of are some sort of nik pick at this moment. I would have to say, the hotel is not as "high tech" as compares to many new hotels, but it has it's charm. But if high tec is your thing, this hotel might lack some.
