Beautiful hotel with huge rooms! Worked really well for us travelling with a baby, as there was heaps of space for him to crawl around and burn energy at the end of the day, and also to set up our cot without feeling cramped. Great in-room facilities. Staff at reception were delightful.

Our room looked straight onto the carpark, which at $420 a night was a bit of a disappointment. Shower door seal/base was pretty mouldy and grimey and probably due for a replacement or a deep clean; for a nice hotel you would expect details like this to be noticed,

We know it was the site of the old Transport Department and were really impressed with the transformation of the building into an art hotel. The decor and the artworks are very complimentary with the keeping some of the feel of the old building with the exposed concrete. We really liked it. Also that it is so close to the city where we were going that evening.

We were able to park on site within the building for a fee. We do not mind paying for the spot but it was not guaranteed so when you go out for the evening the car park could be full when you return. Street parking is not that great around there.

The Art Johnson is very conveniently located near the main Brisbane CBD, and close to any of the expressways to get to other parts of Brisbane. The Bed was comfortable, but I found the pillows too soft.

we were located on the reception floor and the hallways tend to get very noisy at peak movement times. the rooms aren't very well insulated. The Art Johnson is not a hotel but a shared long stay apartment and short stay apartment/room hires, so the hallways tend to get fragrant in the evenings with long term residents cooking. parking is inconvenient - its additional $ and the parking garage was very full during the time of our stay - road parking is only for residents with permits.

The room was very comfortable with a nice view over spring hill. We were north facing so had beautiful sun light the whole time. The bed was very comfortable and the 50 meter pool and deck area was very spacious. Also North facing.

The only gripe is that the TV is not smart. Nor is it connected to any streaming devices or Foxtel. It meant that when we stayed in to relax we only had the option of watching free to air TV like we're in the 90's.

loved the industrial feel the apartment itself had to it, the open floor space concept was so nice and made the apartment feel more spacious and comfortable. loved the detatched double sinks in the ensuite - made it easier for myself to get ready as well as partner. the bed was so spacious and relaxing, made it easy to fall asleep as well as stretch out without bothering my partner.

the view from the balcony was average, however, the price of the apartment i had booked does speak for itself. would definitely be willing to spend more if that meant a room upgrade or a completely different apartment style within the johnson.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful! The room and bathroom were very big with high ceilings. The bed was comfortable and there were big window and a cute balcony that let in a lot of light.

The bathroom was a little dirty, like under the sink cabinets I could see it wasn't perfectly clean. Also the walk from the train station is basically all uphill so prepare for that if you're dragging big bags with you!

It was the perfect package. From the moment I walked in I felt I was in a art gallery, clean lines, lots of light and very welcoming. I learnt a few things about Michael Johnson. A perfect homage to the artist.

It was a bit noisy during the evening (mainly from the restaurant out the front and passersby) but was on the ground floor and close to the outside of the building so that would have been a factor and it was a Friday evening.

They took special care to supply a lovely room satisfying our particular requests for myself and my husband who has arthritis. The room was much nicer than we expected, very spacious, very high ceilings, lovely tall height doors, which opened which we also like, out on to a little balcony. Separate dual vanities in bathroom, with a separate room for the toilet. Wall dispensers for hand and bath wash, shampoo and conditioner. Nice modern kitchen with microwave, cold mini fridge, Nespresso machine supplied with capsules. Individual air con controls. Did not have to empty our own rubbish which is unusual these days. Quiet location, with free circle bus at door which takes you down into the city, the city stop being across from a Woolworths supermarket and Big W store or one stop prior drops you right at Brisbane Central Railway Station. There is a restaurant downstairs on street level below the Johnson and cafes across the street.

Nothing, other than the safe was on the blink. I mentioned this to the reception member on checking out, Zack, who was a very friendly guy and made us feel welcome on arrival. Zack said he would have it repaired immediately. Will stay again.

Room was huge, and so was the bed. The 'view' was of a car park, which wasn't great. But nice to have a balcony at least. Rooms were nice and quiet, as was the whole property. Pool area was nice - although I couldn't see where you could get a pool towel, so we brought the ones from our room. Pool was massive, but FREEZING! I guess that make sense if you're swimming laps - but for the casual swimmer who just wants a comfortable dip, it was a little bracing. Given there's no food service at the hotel, having some kind of 'recommendation' booklet or list of preferred places around the area would have been handy.

The BBC World News channel wasn't working on the TV, but that's probably a Foxtel issue. Pool was lovely, but just too cold to be enjoyable when we stayed. And the 'view' from our room wasn't great - we overlooked a carpark. Very minor gripes though for what was a great place.

Cool artist place to stay. Bed super comfortable and location was great to walk to the hospital which was the purpose of our stay.

The man checking me in gave me a hard time about the booking being made with our business name rather than my personal one. Had to change that online before we would book me in. Parking was confusing and should have been made more clear but it did work out in the end.
