Hotel was right on the front with a good view of the sea. Ceiling height bay window so lots of light and a chaise longue from which to watch the world go by! The bathroom was large and clean with bath and fitted shower head which was a little high, but powerful. Bed was large and very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities, which was handy as we did not take breakfast at the hotel. Staff were informative regarding restaurants and parking and very friendly! We ate a meal in the hotel on our last night and it was very good, with a jazz pianist playing into the bargain! Loved the old fashioned lift! Took me back to my first job in London many, many years ago!!

Just little things really - Personally, I don't like a fixed shower head as I do not like to get my hair wet every time I shower. It would have been helpful if the separate shower had worked! There was compimentary shower gel and hair shampoo, but no body lotion!

The hotel is right on the beach, very close to the Pier so the location is brilliant. It has a fabulous Art Deco lift which is a thing of beauty. We had a sea view room and could hear the sea too. Very comfortable rooms and helpful staff.

The breakfast is a bit overpriced - particularly if you only have the Continental as there is no difference in price between it and a full cooked breakfast. The freshly cooked eggs are a good idea, but it would be nice to have some low cholesterol spreads as well as butter and some unprocessed bread for toast. Two cereal choices, croissants or petit pain and a fruit salad is also quite limited for a continental breakfast.

This is a very modern hotel with a high standard design. The marble floor in reception and in the bathroom of our room was a delight. I also loved the ornate design to the facade of the building. The bed in the room was a dream, so cosy and comfortable and the blackout curtains, yes, yes and yes. Thank you. They have a fire stick so you can watch Netflix etc. A real bonus. Wi-Fi was real good. The Art Deco lift is a treat; what a smooth ride. My daughter wanted to use it all the time even though we were on the first floor. There is a piano in the bar area that guests can play, which was lovely. My daughter wanted to practice, a-bonus. There are board games in the lounge area if required, great for rainy days. The breakfast was lovely, and we were served and that it was not a buffet, which I preferred. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk to the shopping centre, plus very close to the beach and attractions. You can take a tour bus from the Pier or Bandstand to Beachy Head, Belle Tout and Birling Gap. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, I could not ask for more. I liked that we paid at the end of our stay and not upfront for each item purchase. Perfect. I would stay here again.

The cleaning could have been perfected for a 5 star hotel. There were two types of hair on the taps. Dried white splash water marks on the marble around the basin, which was off-putting. It looked like toothpaste stains. The shower pole had a hand print on it. Yuck. There were stains on the couch and what appeared to be a spot of blood stain at the base of the bed. Not nice.

The room was very spacious and we had an excellent view of the sea. The bed was very comfortable and we had a large sofa, table and chairs and a fridge in our room. This is our 3rd time at the hotel and they've remembered us from before. It's in a fantastic location, close to the pier and shopping centre. Decent selection at breakfast and they had someone playing the piano which was a nice touch. We book this hotel for the Eastbourne fire show and it didn't disappoint.

The doors on the lift can be stiff and spring shut. We had to pay for the permits this time whereas they were free before.

Stayed at the Chatsworth Hotel in Eastbourne with elderly mother for a mini holiday. Booked this hotel due it’s stylish, classic décor and location. Standalone building with 4 floors. Beautiful traditional entrance and dining room, lounge and bar room with 1900 elevator lift with seating inside, such a beautiful feature. Booked an Executive King size bedroom Seaview on the 3rd floor and received the corner panoramic room 303. Bathroom was huge, the best I had ever seen! Room size was large and closet space available. Tea/coffee facilities (kettle and coffee machine) and water bottles provided. TV had all the popular apps so you can log in to watch. Plug points modern with also USB sockets. Free Wi-Fi, connection was super-fast. Worth the price due to the epic view directly to the sea and the Eastbourne Pier, however bit of a obstacle to go onto the balcony, you need additional step to get onto it, hand grippers on both sides of the door. The guest relations staff, night duty gentleman, dining staff to the Hotel Manager were wonderful and exceptional! Professional, friendly and genuinely kind staff. They surely go far and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant stay at the hotel. Certainly, London hotels could learn about pleasantries etiquette from Eastbourne! There was a gym in the hotel and beauty treatment facilities. Guest relations can book a local taxi upon your request. One min walk to all the restaurants from fish n chips to Asian food. Eastbourne Pier is a 2 minute walk and the other direction is the historical Wish Tower. Overall beautiful and lovely hotel and certainly would stay again due to the location is perfect!

Minor disappointed on following; Hotel only has steps leading to entrance, no accessibility ramp. Room was not as I expected from the image of the executive room, (assumed there would be a sofa or breakfast table) carpet had a few burnt stains, rooms need minor maintenance update. No peephole, room had traditional key with no number on it, so remember your room number! Room Fridge, dressing gowns and slippers are upon request at reception. However staff can accommodate to add anything to their own hotel fridge. Unfortunately, out of stock on disposable slippers, therefore had to go into town to buy a pair. Finally for vegetarians very limited on breakfast, no veggie sausages! Very basic for breakfast. However, the dining staff made up for the comfortability and welcome.

Sea front position. Old hotel that had been sympathetically modernised. Lovely old fashioned lift that was near silent. Deluxe room was roomy and comfortable with king size bed, sofa, side table, chairs and complimentary coffee, tea or hotel chocolate. Even supplied decaffeinated coffee on request. Comfortable bed with good quality linen. Marble tiled bathroom with walk in shower. Quiet room on top floor.

Shower pressure was low and temperature was hard to manage. Damp patch on wall above bed. Both were reported to reception on leaving and they advised would be addressed. We managed with the shower as we only stayed 2 nights. Complimentary wine offered between 6-7 as a welcome but not soft drinks. Not everyone drinks alcohol so an alternative should be offered. These comments do not negate our lovely stay,.

Beautiful hotel with a 100 year old lift plus gorgeous cosy bar with piano player and complimentary glass of wine on first evening of arrival. The room was spacious and very comfortable with lovely partial sea view. Loved the building and decor and it was all well maintained.

Only two small complaints that didn’t ruin our stay at all There was no coffee in our room however my partner was able to get me a lovely coffee from reception with no charge. Also the shower was scolding hot and impossible to turn cold water on at first, managed to get it slightly cooler but was still very very hot. Luckily there was also a hand shower in the bath we could use. The staff were made aware and were going to sort it out asap. We only stayed one night so not enough time to rectify it whilst we were there.

See below regarding comments for breakfast. Quaint lift and nice ambience. I liked the piano in the cocktail bar, and the piano player played some very good boogie woogie. I played some tunes as well including happy birthday as that was the reason we were there! I am a musician and noted their old antique grand piano in their lounge but needs a lot of work on it to make it playable.

Breakfast was good but we had to wait a long time (45 mins) as it was served and cooked by the same person. By the time it arrived the coffee and tea was cold. It was not busy just the two of us plus a family of 3. The Hotel need to address the efficiency of delivering a cooked breakfast a lot quicker than 45 minutes! I could have cooked it in 15 minutes.

We loved the location and the view. The hotel itself is inviting from the outside, and gives a great first impression on the inside. Staff were very attentive without being invasive. Someone showed us up to our room and grabbed some little things for us to make our stay more comfortable. The rooms were spacious, and the beds super comfortable. We loved the sea view. Enjoyed the welcome drinks, again a nice little detail.

Having to leave, we were made to feel very, very welcome.

We thought the rooms were very good with plenty of storage, comfortable bed and a lovely walk-in shower. Would have preferred a service breakfast as we had on the first morning, rather than the help yourself buffet breakfast we had on the following days. However, the food we had was very good.

When we arrived, the tea, coffee and milk in the room had not been topped up. Also, the room was only serviced on the first day. The bed was not made, bathroom was not cleaned and again the tea, coffee, etc was not topped up. It would also have been nice to have been able to have a meal in the restaurant in the evening, if we hadn’t wanted to go out.
