The hotel for what we paid was outstanding but any business is only as good as the people who look after you and the staff at the hotel are amazing, they made us feel welcome and at home, always pleasant, happy to help, polite, warming and considerate. The room was spotless and the gym was perfect and even better open all hours so I was able to workout when it suited me. Our breakfast's were very good and all the staff went out of there way to make sure we had everything that we needed. The VA is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and we felt safe walking there at all times. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a city break, great value for money, clean and tidy with a beautiful view of Table Mountain as the icing on the cake! We would certainly stay there again and hope to return in the future.

Room (studio) was great: quiet, excellent bed and linen quality. The small kitchen had all you need for a short stay: glasses, mugs, and some crockery/pots if one decides to cook something. There was no corkscrew, however. Large fridge with freezer compartment, which was quite noisy at night but easy to switch off. Large TV with Netflix. Parking more than sufficient. Staff was extremely helpful. We have stayed here before and would definitely return. We didn't make use of the breakfast as we were seeing friends for breakfast.

The TV: one could only watch TV from the sofa and not from the bed as it was stuck to the wall and couldn't be turned. No coffee machine but instant coffee. No salt/pepper, or oil to cook (not that we needed it, but if you provide pots and pans there should be cooking oil. No dishwashing liquid.

The Onyx has an excellent location, just a short distance from the V&A Waterfront and within walking distance to the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The facilities were fantastic, and the staff service was superb. The apartment was nicely decorated and furnished, and the bed was comfortable. Access to rooms via the lifts is secure and easy to use. Parking levels are well-lit, and the bays are pretty broad, so parking was easy. The Yu restaurant served delicious Asian cuisine.

More hot vegan/ vegetarian options for breakfast would be nice. Perhaps potato wedges and sautéed mushrooms, which everybody could enjoy :)

Friendly and helpful staff. Central Location. The apartment was clean and had everything required. Breakfast was okay. Dinner option was Asian Restaurant which was a negative for me. 4th Floor has beautiful, heated pool (part of it under cover). Beautiful views from the 4th floor patio/pool/seating area. There was a gym and spa too. Smoking allowed on the patio of the 4th floor only. There was a bar there too and it is very peaceful and quiet. The bar serves food from the breakfast/lunch restaurant which is only open until 3pm. From there on if you want food without leaving the accommodation you can only get it from the Asian Restaurant. The outside patio on the 4th floor could use a couple of umbrellas for shade (it is completely without any cover).

An all-day restaurant with a variety of food. Shade on the patio of the 4th floor. Better beds (was too hard).

Easy for convention centre access but not good for much else , not walkable to other places , so uber is best to go places. The two bedr suite had two bathr but only one had a shower and it was not the master. The tub was just a tub , no handheld shower avail so that was useless for us. The kitchen was nice but came with no cloths or soap etc so you have to buy all that stuff to use your kitchen. The breakfast restaurant in lobby was excellent. Free parking for a rental car available. The two bedr suite had great living room and balcony space.

Location was great for the cycle event I participated in - also very clean and spacious residential rooms. Breakfast was good. Easy to get around CT from here by uber.

On the day I arrived the guy at the front desk impressed me by arranging me a breakfast box for the Sunday morning before I attended my event as I left before breakfast. But that didn’t happen and the staff in his place promised to arrange and call back with the arrangements but that never happened. On return from my event I queried it but there was no apology or regret that they messed up.

The property is in a good location away from the madness. If you want some kind of deviance this isn’t for you. Ideal for clean business and families. Large rooms decent staff especially Patterson and Smiles. Thank you. 24 hr security, concierge and carpark. Close to all attractions motorways and walking distance to the Waterfront.

Breakfast was slow going probably because it was busy at the time. A couple of the male staff not quick enough example black coffee taking half an hour please. If you like a hearty breakfast all you can eat similar to Spanish hotels. This is not for you. Middle of the Central business district trendy sunglasses eating leaves and sniffing green juices.

The inhouse gym was a nice addition, we used it both mornings.

The apartments were beautifully set out, with great bathrooms and living space. The staff were very welcoming and assisted us as required. Housekeeping maintained the room wonderfully and even did the washing up for us! The corridor we were on felt quiet and peaceful. The Bar on the 4th floor was great, never too busy and we were well cared for whenever we got drinks. The pool was lovely, and unlike many places we stayed was actually lightly heated, so my children could swim for ages. The restaurant for breakfast was nicely staffed and the breakfast was lovely.

Possibly could have had more bottled water included. The price for a bottle was quite expensive.

The property is in a perfect location! The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are really comfortable. The breakfast has a nice selection of pastries and hot meals.

In the morning around 7.30-8am the cleaners have woken us up talking/ shouting down the corridor to each other. I appreciate trolleys and cleaning can be a bit noisy but I’m not sure shouting or talking loudly to each other is necessary.
