Really great experience staying in the hotel. Excellent location ,very near and walking distance to shopping areas . We were also very lucky to get a really nice room with a spectacular view . Not to forget, the Nice breakfast buffet included with plenty of choices to choose from . Moreover we were lucky enough to get a free bus to waterfront which really helped included in our booking.

Some of the the staff, especially when we asked for bottles of water which we paid for were a bit unfriendly .

The location, the excellent reception, concierge and restaurant staff. Wonderful room.

The bar staff. There are about 4-5 staff at the till by the kitchen door and they tend to be extremely noisy by shouting orders at each other. Plus there is usually one barman behind the bar who has to serve customers sitting at the bar and making the drinks for other bar and pool customers, so if you’re sitting at the bar you wait for quite a while.

The Cullinan is a superb hotel which is conveniently located to the CBD, Cape Town International Conference Center and the Waterfront. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and the breakfast will have you coming back for more. I always enjoy my stay at the Cullinan.

Professional and welcoming staff, also very good with the kids. Good breakfast buffet including plenty of options for children, as well as for vegetarians. Gluten free options including bread. The location was very good, near the waterfront, and the hotel shuttle to and from the waterfront was very convenient and easy to use. We had a family room which works well.

The hotel itself was great but more catering towards business visitors. They were very accommodating to the children though; there is a small swimming pool and a smaller restaurant for lunch and dinner - so if you plan a lot of day trips it's great but if you plan to spend a few days at the hotel with children under 12 its perhaps less suitable.

The room is spacious. Enough space for two persons with their big luggage :). The breakfast was definitely nice and the staff was always smiling and willing to help. The location is very nice. Close enough to waterfront. You can definitely walk from and to Waterfront. Also, the availability of the shuttle to/from the waterfront is definitely a big plus. It definitely had a very nice spa, for massages, but unfortunately, I did not have the time to experience it.

Everything was fine. Maybe the shuttle can be pushed one hour later or just till 11pm. The pool was too small. So it is not a hotel to go and enjoy the pool.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing, the dining room gorgeous, we even got an easter egg. The young shef assisted my daughter, who burnt her fingers in the room with the steam of the kettle. The check gave us spray, gel and a applied it and wrapped it up, I forgot her name now, but what a ray of sunshine she was. restaurant staff all great. The friendliest front desk team I have came across. The centre display Easter table was so beautiful, and we were super surprised with the sweet selection from 4 - 6pm. The pool looks great, staff very helpful too. My granddaughter of 6 called and ordered her own meal and also asked why there were no kiddies meals. The gave her the options and she ordered her staple, chicken strips and chips, it was seriously good and tender. I would personally like this message to go to the GM please, as I worked for Southern Sun for 9 years and I was super proud of my previous Employer. PS It is time for the hotel exterior to be painted, yellow was from the beginning not the best choice, it opened in my days as Hotel Sales & Marketing Manager and Key Accounts Mng. Although the bathrooms were very tidy, I do think that a modern look will work better with the current interiors. The black carpets was especially beautiful in the corridors. Congratulations, very proud of the Cullinan. We will be back for a spoil night or weekend away.

All was great, just the building itself which is so beautiful, needs a make-over.

The hotel is across the road from the conference centre. An excellent hotel with a comprehensive breakfast menu. Ebrahim at the concierge desk went out of his was to assist us. The spa on the ground floor is superb-perfect for a relaxing massage. The hotel has a nice pool and a deck to reax on. The hotel is an easy 15 min walk to the waterfront provides a nice perspective when waking during daytimes. rather use their bus services in the evenings. I like the view of the waterfront from my room.

Pillows from housekeeping took some time. A very minor inconvenience.

1. Rooms are on the smaller side 2. More attention to detail: we were a family of three. I had to request an additional bath towel. This was not replaced the next day. 3. For breakfast, often we would have to find an empty table, and then request for it to be cleaned up, before we could sit down. I think it would be useful to have someone at the door to just guide guests to tables and have someone else walk around and ensure that tables are cleared as guests finish breakfast.

They have a shuttle from the hotel to the V & A Waterfront every 30 minutes. Wide varied buffet breakfast. Facilities are clean.

Although this is a non-smoking property, there were guests close to our room that were smoking (could get the strong cigarette smoke smell as soon as I exited my room - this was very unpleasant for my family & I especially that we are all non-smokers). Reported it to the hotel staff (I was told another guest also complained), but I don’t believe anything was done as the smell was there everyday!

We attended the annual Cape Town Cycle Tour and were very impressed with our stay at Southern Sun (The Cullinan), the facilities are incredible, the rooms were very clean, the staff super friendly. The hotel also went beyond the call of duty to accommodate all the cyclist. This includes setting up a coffee and breakfast station from before 5am in the morning and provided all cyclist with a hand made trophy. Thank you for a great stay and we will certainly be back.
