The place is very homey, all the staff are nice and friendly, great views!

The shower area could have been improved by putting more storage and shampoo bottles and soap shelves so we dont end up putting them on the shower floor

I loved staying here and extended my stay a few times. The hostel is in a great location, only a short walk to the train station where it’s only under an hours trip to any great hike in the area, the town centre for the cafes and restaurants and also Schülerbad which is a great swim spot on Thun Lake. The room was perfect, comfortable bed, lots of space and it’s was immaculate with a beautiful view of the mountains. The team were so friendly and helpful, and always greeted you warmly. After staying at a few hotels in Interlaken prior that we’re rather run down, I wish I had found this hostel sooner. Thanks for an incredible stay! Looking forward to coming back soon

This hostel is much friendlier than many hotels. We had a spacious double room (32) with a large private bathroom on upper floor of this huge old house with fabulous views of the Eiger and Jungfrau. The hostel has super friendly, helpful and hard working staff and is in a great quiet location an easy 15 minutes walk from Interlaken West railway station and Thun ferry quay. Interlaken West is less grand than Interlaken OST area ( where we saw a well dressed, middle aged American couple deliberately run off without paying for their drinks) but you can easily walk around the town from the hostel, or catch a bus. The accommodation prices are excellent for Switzerland where everything is more than double UK prices. After a really busy day and with the sun still shining we decided to eat in the garden and because we were staying there we got priority and had a brilliant ‘all you could eat’ cheese fondue with potatoes, bread, gherkins, little onions and pineapple for dipping. We could also bring our own wine but there were drinks available to buy. As this is a hostel it isn’t for those who aren’t willing to interact with other guests or don’t want to help out at check out by stripping your bed and putting bedding and towels in laundry basket at reception. Breakfast is included, it’s self service and has plenty to choose from. You get an Interlaken guest card on check in that gives you free travel on the buses -a direct bus (number 21) goes from the bus stop to the right of the hostel on the pother side of the road to train stations Ost and West. The city bus 105 goes from the same stop but not to Ost station. Don’t think that hostels are only for students- there was a great variety of people, all nationalities and ages with families and couples like us in our 60s.

Only downside was the pervasive smell of cheese from the fondues as you enter the building though it wasn’t noticeable in our room.

A large family room with a lovely wet room. We stayed 1 night as a stop off but could have stayed longer. Interlaken has lots to offer. Free local transport if you show your hostel card. It wasn't what I expected from a hostel. It wasn't basic at all, and breakfast was delicious. If you want to enjoy The Fondu Villa, book ahead as we couldn't get in.

The other guests were noisy/ loud music and our room was right by reception and backed on to the kitchen which was noisy until around 11. Not great with kids, but it is a hostel, not a hotel, so I guess that's the downside. It was only 1 night though.

This might be the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in - great continental breakfast with free coffee, loved the en-suite bathroom, and the beds were actually very comfy. Towels are provided free of charge as well. Friendly staff, very clean and lovely view around the property :)

Since I came outside of the season, it felt a little less social for those travelling solo. The fondue experience was also not available yet as they start serving it from April 1 only :( The place must be even more amazing when the season is on, but hey, peace and quiet was also nice!

The location is amazing, with views all around. Close to supermarkets, restaurants, train and metro stations. Staff were lovely and attentive. Cheese fondue on reception floor, very delicious. Yes a smell of cheese but once you are inside your room you don’t smell anything. Shower a bit small but worked around it. Breakfast was good, small selection but great to start the day with.

The mattress on the bed was very thin and uncomfortable. Could feel the base of the bed. Perhaps a full base rather than steel poles would be more suitable for a thin mattress.

Cute stay, the hostel is comfortable and clean. Near bus stop. 3 mins bus + 5 min walk from interlaken west station. Stayed in a room of 6 for 5 people. Comfortable enough. The breakfast is okay, enough to keep you full, you can eat your own food and heat it up at the communal kitchen and store your food in guest fridge. The room is very warm, good for winter. Staff is very friendly and helpful !!!!!

The shower is a bit small and had to make sure the shower is always inside the basin or it’ll flood. But i have stayed at many hostels this is one of the better ones.

Amazing staff, everyone so kind and helpful! Property’s location was great, close to downtown but in a quiet place. We arrived early and it was possible to drop our bags/luggage on the property. All the questions and request we had were fully answered. The room had an amazing view. Very tasty, fresh and complete breakfast. Perfect Fondue Villa experience, totally recommend!

The bed was simple and the bathroom wasn’t so big, but nothing that affected our experience (completely understandable due to hostel’s proposal).

Lovely place, more like a small hotel then a hostel. We stayed in a twin private room on the 2nd floor. Fabulous view of the mountains with paragliders going past! It was in a quiet area and while there were people around it was not a hectic place. Very relaxing. The location is a 5\7 minute walk from Interlaken west train station. Interlaken ost station is the busier one where you get trains to the mountains. We got a bus outside the door to Wilderswil where you can connect to trains. You get a free pass to use public transport within Interlaken. The location was great for us as it gave an authentic Swiss feel and we could walk or get the bus to the busier side of Interlaken. The room was a great size and the breakfast was lovely too. I would highly recommend this hostel for people who want to be in a town but in lovely calm surroundings.

The hostel is very nice and with great view, our room is facing the mountain which is an added bonus. It is located in a quite place but within a walking distance from the Interlaken west train station and a bus stop is only 400m away. For early arrival they allow you to store your luggage in their luggage room. Given the high cost of food in Switzerland, their breakfast provides great value. It's a deal you won't find elsewhere, so I recommend booking without hesitation.

The elevator is switch off at night, so when you arrived late past 8pm, then you have to go by stairs.
