Wonderful luxurious hotel with an extraordinary garden and spectacular views onto Lake Windermere. Great staff, very friendly and always helpful. Your holiday begins at the first minute after arrival, a very relaxing atmosphere, the garden is an attraction on its own with beautiful spots for sitting to enjoy the view or relax at a little tarn. A lot of wonderful birdsong and animals to be watched. The bar and conversatory is phantastic, stylish and bright with great drinks. Our luxurious room was quite spacy with very comfy beds and a big window to the garden. Other rooms do have small windows only. The bath room was very clean, but not spotless. EV charging is run by the hotel and very convenient and easy, moderated by competent staff. The best we have ever seen at a hotel. Great location: A golf course or outdoor dining is just minutes away.

The breakfast was great, but the Sunday roast at the Henrock restaurant was a bit of an disappointment. The roast wasn't as tender as expected and also the flavours of the high quality food weren't as exquisite as you would expect for a restaurant with Michelin star chef in its name. The warm food was also not as hot as expected. If the breakfast or the bar is crowded, you can wait a very long time for your food. Try to use less busy times for that. The staff is running and doing a great job, but the kitchen seems to be understaffed for these occasions. We were quite lucky with our neighbours, but you can tell that noise travels easy in that old building.

It was very artistic and the staff were super friendly. The room I booked was spacious and neat.

I didn’t like the housekeeping. The housekeeping came to my room when I left I came back expecting the room to be clean. there was a tissue left on the floor. A plastic bag was also left on the floor. The tables were not wiped clean. And they left the cleaning rug in the room. They did tidy the room to be fair but not clean. So if i will give an honest rating to the hotel it will be 7/10 because of the cleaning.

The facilities were luxurious, and the kindness and professionalism of the staff exceeded every expectation. We instantly felt welcomed and at home. Dining at Henrock was a highlight—the food, service, and ambiance were mind-blowing, easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. We also enjoyed meals and drinks in the bar and conservatory, which were equally memorable. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated. What we loved most was the community feel of the hotel. It’s quiet, calming, and deeply connected to the natural beauty around it, yet it offers all the comfort and sophistication of a world-class boutique hotel. We left feeling completely refreshed and already dreaming about our next visit. Thank you to the entire team at Linthwaite House for an unforgettable stay.

This is a beautiful property just a few minutes from downtown Windermere, but out of the hustle and bustle of the town and the traffic. Beautiful view of the lake from the property. We stayed in the detached villas which were about a two minute walk from the main hotel for breakfast and meals. The room was lovely, large and modern with all the right amenities and an individual, private hot tub behind. Staff was amazing and we actually met the assistant manager one night while she was walking her dog. She was very accommodating and friendly and shared some great tips about the local area. Food was excellent. Breakfast was great and we ate in the pub one night which we enjoyed. Lovely landscaped property and beautiful views. It was our most expensive stay on a one month trip through Ireland, Scotland and Northern England but worth the price!

Total lack of drawer space in the bedroom…had to live out of the suitcase. The dinner in the Conservatory was very good. The dinner in Henrock was good in parts !!

The hotel and its setting are fabulous. The garden and grounds are beautifully laid out and maintained and enhanced both outside and inside the hotel by the many amazing sculptures. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful and will respond to any request immediately and the food is delicious. Breakfast was superb and we very much enjoyed a relaxing dinner in the conservatory. This was my second visit to the Linthwaite House Hotel and I can't wait to return!

The beds were rather firmer than my daughter and I found comfortable but this was immediately attended to by the staff who added mattress toppers, completely solving the problem.

The setting of the property is magnificent with views overlooking lake Windermere. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and expertly maintained. The hotel itself is decorated inside to a high standard and it all feels very classy. Staff are very helpful and the service provided is excellent. The breakfast menu was delicious and varied but all cooked to order so fresh and hot. Dining in the Henrock restaurant was something we will never forget. We had the tasting menu and it was probably one of the best meals we have ever had.

Our room was a classic and had everything we needed but was a little cramped and dark. Served us more than adequately for 2 nights but any more than that we would have struggled.

The location was almost flawless. Like being in a novel the selection of art on the walls inside and the fairy tail statuary outside blended with the views over the lake. Afternoon tea in the conservatory provided happy emotions. And my adventures in the town nearby and long walks around the neighboring hills were very memorable. The dinning experience at Henrock was excellent as the chef and the trained staff are world class.

The room was slightly on the small side. This was more evident in the bathroom and shower accessibility as well as the size of the wardrobe. However the large bed provided the best sleep I had in the last 10 days traveling in the UK.
