The room was exceptional was clean and comfortable the staff were polite I would stay there again

The garden and seating area could do with a good clean and make it more presentable as it was very messy and the cushions were not settable also I had to call the staff to remove a guy from the back of the garden area people from the street come in from the garage entrance which I found to be unsafe for the people that stay at the hotel even though one of the staff removed the guy from the premises other than that the hotel is lovely

I love the location of the hotel, and the prices are always very reasonable. The check in staff were helpful with the few issues we had, we were able to check in early too. The pool was lovely and quiet. My bed was very comfortable.

Although our check in issues were resolved, they were still issues.. like giving my mum a twin room when she’d booked a deluxe double, and she had no toiletries in her room which it was listed as having. My scrambled eggs at breakfast had grey lumps in which really put me off. My room was over looking st Stephen’s road and it was extremely noisy with buses, Lorry’s snd busy traffic.

The hotel is in an excellent location, and the staff are super-friendly, particularly the restaurant staff. There is a very lovely, relaxed ambience, and though the swimming pool is small, the jacuzzi is great! Breakfast is perfectly and speedily cooked, and the choice of breakfast items is superb.

There are a few little upgrades which would take the hotel into the 'Exceptional' bracket: the bedrooms really should have personal safes; plus a small mini-bar, and hair conditioner provided in the bathrooms would be most welcome. Needing a £1 coin for the spa locker is also a little old-fashioned! Dinner, though very nicely cooked, could do with a slightly fuller choice of dishes.

Fab historical hotel located in the centre of Bournemouth. Staff were friendly and professional. Our room was spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend.

Only downside was the floorboards in our room were very creaky, but the hotel is from the 1840s so it is to be expected and would not put me off staying again.

I like the fact that the staffs were very attentive, accommodating and met out all our requests. Thank you. I asked prior to our arrival if I can have the room decorated to surprise my daughter for her 16th birthday, and they did indeed. We booked a family room, the was was very spacious, clean, with kettle and some light refreshments. Very thoughtful I must add. The two beautiful kind ladies at the reception also granted us an early check-in as soon as we arrived without any issues. Thank you ladies, sorry I didn't catch your names. The pool and jacuzzi also came in very handy and lovely. Hotel is very close to the beach, shops and restaurants too.

Absolutely nothing.

Good location to town centre and beach. Staff were very helpful and polite l. The toilet wouldn't stop filling after flushing. Reported it to reception, and manager tried to fix it. Unfortunately he couldn't so they gave us another room which had a walk-in shower which we prefer as our original had shower over the bath . Apart from that our stay was great. Breakfast in the morning was really good. Overall, it was a great stay and value for the money.

Underground carpark. WE had to lug our suitcase up two lots of stairs. Not sure if it had a lift up to reception but if it did it wasn't very well signposted.

- location within 5 min walk of town centre - beautiful historic building, well looked after - interior decor - extremely helpful, supportive & kind staff (exceptional was the young male receptionist who welcomed us on the day of our arrival) - excellent parking: free for guests in a covered car park underneath the hotel, well protected - wide range of facilities incl swimming pool, protected outdoor seating area, beer garden, conservatory, nice big comfy lobby, etc - lift for guests who are not fit enough for the stairs - surprisingly affordable prices (my parents and I stayed in 2 rooms for one night during summer holiday season and paid less than GBP 200 all up, excl. breakfast) - cooked breakfast available at GBP 10 per person

- staff in the dining room at breakfast time in the morning were a bit short and hardly understood a word of English which made ordering a bit difficult at times

The staff were outstanding and everyone we spoke to went out of their way to help us with any requests we had and were super friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean. My room was lovely. The food was adequate. The entertainment was very good although a little loud.

The hotel was a little tired and could do with a lick of paint and a freshen up. If you're looking for modern you won't find it here. It was very comfortable though but at times there weren't enough staff so that the staff that were there had an awful lot to do. We felt the food was adequate but nothing exceptional. The hotel is clearly there for coach holidays and the food reflected the limited choice to accommodate the price for a coach holiday. That being said, a 3 course meal for £20 was very reasonable.

Room as we were upgraded after being told we had booked an accessible room with walk in shower only to find it was a bath with shower and without hesitation they transferred us to a large room with both bath and walk in shower.

The fact that we booked with yourselves a room for two people and somehow only I was booked in and therefore embarrassingly we had only paid for one breakfast and ofcourse I immediately paid for my husband. I can only think that your booking system must be unclear when booking a double room that it only says one person when perhaps the question should be asked. I have never had that happen before when booking a double room with booking. com
