Lovely location in the old city - central for all activities. Great welcome from the host. Well appointed reception / kitchen / lounge areas, with outside seating. Nice compact bedroom and bathroom. Little outside noise / disturbances to disrupt sleep.

Bedroom was rather stuffy - windows partially opened to let in air, but shutters needed to be closed at night to block out light so any breeze was negated anyway. Electric fan supplied didn't add much value unfortunately. Bedroom lacked adequate storage for clothes - possibility to add compact wardrobe in the available space to side of bed? I was staying on my own but this would be more problematic for two guests.

Location was perfect very close to the children's hospital as what we wanted, very secure building after 11pm as the gates get locked which we found lovely, nice garden to sit in to have a drink or if you smoke for a cigarette, friendly welcoming staff nothing is too much trouble, loved the little honesty cupboard with drinks and snacks, breakfast smelt and looked amazing although we didnt have breakfast when we stayed, comfy big bed was amazing, nice size tv with a variety of channels to choose from, ironing facilities which is always a bonus too me, the fan in the unit was a god send as the room was very warm and humid,would definitely reccomend and would return again.

Would have been handy to have a mini fridge in the room as the room was so warm that cold drinks turned warm in seconds so wasn't enjoyable to drink when thirsty, although there was a fan in our room it would have been nice to have an extra one as they arent that powerful but we managed and had a lovely stay here.

Great location and design - everything felt incredibly cosy, it didn’t feel like we were staying in a hotel! Super comfortable beds and fan in the room (perfect for the heatwave!)

We can back late at night. It would have been nice if there were some dim lights on the steps as you go towards the hotel door as I struggled to see where I was going. The staff were friendly, but nobody was keen to have a conversation about how we found our stay, how the room was, if there was any feedback… it didn’t negatively impact our lovely stay, but I think that level of care and attention would have taken our (fabulous) stay up to the next level

We had a great stay at Brooks Guesthouse in Bristol. There was a warm welcome when we arrived and checked in. Our room was ready, even though we were a bit early which was great for leaving our bags (although there were storage facilities at reception had the room not been ready). The room was spacious and had a lovely view over the courtyard. The bed was really comfy and although it was warm when we stayed, there was a fan in the room which was really welcome. Breakfast was fabulous and freshly cooked to order. We tried the full English (excellent) and the salmon and poached eggs on a muffin (also excellent and the poached eggs were perfect). Great coffee and the local yogurt was gorgeous and lovely with the fresh fruit and homemade compote. The guesthouse is in a great location, close to restaurants, bars and the food court. Obviously there is a bit of noise at night, but only to be expected when you're in the middle of a city and I like to hear people out having fun! Great accommodation - I've been raving about it to everyone I know!

Only minor niggles - It was warm when we stayed and the duvet was quite thick, though the fan supplied kept us cooler which was most welcome. Also the bathroom was a bit tired and could have done with a deep clean and there was hair in the shower. As I say, certainly nothing major!

Location is very central, Galleries car park not far away and a street full of bars and restaurants is on the doorstep. However, there wasn't a lot of late night noise, and no noise from other rooms at all despite the hotel being full. Bed was comfy, room had plenty of plug sockets, and provision of a couple of fans on a really hot day was appreciated. Breakfast menu was varied, everything was freshly made and decent quality, the granola was particularly good.

Bed was a bit creaky and shower quite cramped. Room felt small for price paid.

The location is fantastic for anyone working in, or wanting to visit the city centre. Bristol City Centre is less than a 2 minute walk from the guesthouse and it's a 10 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Train Station. Right in the heart of ST Nicholas Market, there are plenty of attractions, bars and eateries just outside of the hotel. The bed was really comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. The shower room was of an adequate size and the water was warm. The toiletries, tea and coffee replenished each day. All the staff were friendly, but a special mention for Justin a real credit to the Guesthouse.

I booked a king room and although the bed was a king size bed, it was too big for the room and there was not enough room to easily walk around the bed to be able to open/close the wooden window shutters. There is no desk space in the room, which prevented me from working of an evening.

We only needed one night in Bristol and I'm so glad I found Brooks Guesthouse. They gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival and explained everything we needed to know. There was a lift to our room and the place was very clean, tidy and tastefully furnished. There were allsorts of different styles of furniture which made it slightly quirky but with a warm friendly feel. Our room wasn't bg, but I knew that when I booked and it was very adquate for our needs. The breakfast was plentiful, tasty and very hot (I hate cold food) We will have no problem booking here again later in the year, but it'll definitely be for a longer stay.

Um......er....well.......I honestly can't think of anything I didn't like and that's the truth.

Location was wonderful! Rooms were clean and being able to have breakfast on-site was a plus!

Please read this whole paragraph. Our first night there the noise from the bar next door was horrible! They were still partying at 2am, and it was loud even after we closed our window. On the plus side (big plus) we spoke to the manager on duty the next morning and were moved to another room away from the noise. They even moved our bags into the new room for us while we were on a tour! We were so thankful and enjoyed the rest of our stay!!

Great location! Easy access to local transportation, staff is very friendly. Noticed work being done around property but was not disruptive, and will only enhance the charm.

My only suggestion is when serving breakfast, heat the plates. Serving hot food on a cold plate is a culinary no no. That said, all the different items I had were delicious, nice options, although if my husband was there he would have liked more non egg items. Yes, he’s one of those who don’t like eggs….

I didn't have breakfast as I was on a tight budget. I loved the bed, comfy, a choice of firm and soft and plenty of pillows. I really liked the roof top views. The double locks made me feel secure. As a woman on my own, I felt safe to leave the windows open. It was great to have an electric fan. I appreciated drinks being topped up each day and room tidied.

It would have been great to have a small drinks fridge for fresh milk and tonic for my gin! Those cartons of "milk" aren't good in tea; ok in coffee. The kettle does not fit under the tap, so I had to decant water using a glass to fill the kettle. Window latches need attention.
