Attractive old Hotel with lots of character.

We paid £20 per night extra for an upgrade to a bigger room. This included a bigger bed, coffee machine and refreshments in the fridge. After the 1st day we went to get a can of soft drink from the fridge and it hadn't been replenished. The room hadn't been cleaned either. I spoke to the front desk and had to talk to the Manager in the as I was told you only get 2 cans of drink and two water bottles once. We had paid £60 extra for 3 days. The Manager agreed to replace the drinks. Also on first use of the shower the shampoo dispenser was empty, and on the last day the body was ran out.

Great location for theatre and harbourside or shopping in Bristol city centre . Nice to come back and get a drink at the bar after theatre , lovely staff .

I booked for my daughter and I , maybe I didn’t read room details but thought we could happily share a double but it was a small double so not the best for sharing for a good nights sleep . Also the sink had a crack going through it which was sharp , I thought it was a hair but when I tried removing it found out otherwise so was lucky not to have cut myself . Spontaneous, continuous drip in the night from the shower that we hadn’t even used , a little annoying .

I think this may be the only hotel in Bristol I'll stay in now! Beautifully decorated, super friendly and smiley staff who immediately stopped conversation with co-workers the minute we appeared which made us feel special! The room is big, the shower and bath too! The water pressure on the main shower wasn't great but the hand held one was fantastic. We had a plug malfunction, thought we were just being stupid but reception were fantastic in making sure we didn't feel silly & immediately sent maintenance up and less than half an hour later we had a new plug for the bath! We didn't have enough pillows but they were more than happy to accommodate and send more (but that's personal preference, you get your standard 2 pillows per person). Now, the breakfast...yes, it's your standard buffet BUT they have so many gluten free & dairy free/vegan options which was wonderful for my friend, instead of sticking to just fruit she could have a lot...including coffee with plant based milk!!! We were really really impressed & 100% recommend staying here - plus the streets outside are quiet so that's a bonus!

I’ve stayed there before & it’s definitely my go to accommodation. Had an issue with parking but it was quickly rectified. 1 issue is there was only 1 Toilet Roll in our room & I thought they should have 2 really. Unfortunately we had to ask for another roll which shouldn’t happen.

Apart from the toilet roll situation it was a pretty perfect stay & we’ll definitely be returning. I will say thecocktails weren’t great, took a long time to get them & we did wish we had a few more in the restaurant. Also the juice with the breakfast was clearly a cheap one, not what I would expect from a hotel like this.

Clean and modern with the classic ambiance in keeping with the age of the building. Staff were there to help and nothing was too much of an issue, 15min walk from train station, 10min walk to the centre and harbour. Ideal location.

Bar was poorly stocked. No ale on tap, only lager or cider, no off draught soft drinks. Wanted to buy an ambulance crew a drink and some water to take to my room, nothing available. Had to go to tescos round the corner, which was also closed. Reception was slow, especially with large parties booking in. Could have done with other staff coming to try and resolve the non-check in issues.

The hotel made our Pride weekend extra special! Staff were incredibly warm and helpful — huge thanks to Kai, who was not only professional and calming but genuinely kind in every interaction. He went out of his way to reassure me after I broke a glass, and made sure I had safe gluten-free options at breakfast due to my coeliac condition. Ioan and Griffin at the bar were also fantastic — fun, friendly, and made us feel like stars. The air conditioning was a total lifesaver during the 34°C heat, and my upgraded room was bright, comfortable, and spotless with a lovely bath. Couldn’t have asked for a better base for the weekend

My room wasn’t ready when I first arrived, but the team handled it so well with a free upgrade that it turned into a positive!

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We booked a superior room and found it very comfy with a mini fridge for drinks Location was excellent for what we wanted. I was worried it would be loud after reading some reviews but we only had noise 1 of the 3 nights we stayed; a Saturday night and being close to the main drinking area this is to be expected. The staff were fabulous and very friendly. We would look to book this hotel when we come to Bristol next as cannot fault the service, cleanliness or location. Many thanks.

Some noise on one of the nights but to be expected on a summer Saturday night. Nothing else to mention. Excellent

The hotel was well located for our visit to the university open day, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby and a short walk to the train station. We really liked the hotel's character, and the room was very comfortable - I think we were given an upgrade as it was more spacious than we were expecting, with a king size bed. It was spotless, and we appreciated the little extras - the bathrobes and slippers, the nice toiletries, the coffee pods and biscuits, the large flat screen TV. It was a relaxing place to spend some down time after our busy days and the staff were courteous and helpful.

The location is central but not too far from the railway station. The room was comfortable and there was space for a bath if one was wanted. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was decent. It was great value for what I paid.

The desk space was cramped although adequate for my purposes. The room did not have a wardrobe rather a rack above the space where the tea/coffee was situated meaning that things were pretty bunched. One bar of the rack blocked part of the TV screen but these issues are either minor or very minor and did not blight my stay at all.

Staff were superb - all extremely friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the old town with lovely shops and restaurants close-by. The rooms were clean and easily accessible via lift or stairs; we couldn't hear any noise from outside once in our room. Shower gel, shampoo and towels all provided, as well as a kettle and hairdryer. We had breakfast on one day which was very reasonably priced (and child ate for free!)

The room was really hot - even with the temperature turned down as far as it could go and the beds were quite hard (which is good if you like a hard bed, but it made my back ache). Coffee sachets were not re-filled from one day to the next. I was able to call down to reception for some, and they were prompt to bring some, but would have been better if they had been refilled (a very minor problem though!)
