Clean, helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Snack bar option is limited especially for vegetarian/ vegan or gluten free.

Not much tv option such as Netflix or Youtube to relax in the evening

Lovely staff, nice clean room. Good quality breakfast

The pillows were way too soft. Feathers aren’t good for me and they collapsed immediately you lay on them. Some nice firm memory foam pillows would be grest

Clean and spacious rooms, excellent noise cancellation and efficient air conditioning. Great, comfy bed (about 150-160 wide) and nice faceing away from the high street. A 20-minute walk from Scott monument/Princes St, Lovely Libanese restaurant next door!

Somewhat funnily designed bathroom making it ergonomically challenging not to splash water on the floor while showering. Bathroom could also use better storage solutions, eg. higher bathtowel hook placement so towels don't touch the floor when you hang them up. A key reason for choosing the Hampton were the great reviews of the breakfast, especially the plant-based options. Sad to say our experience weren't the best in this area. Our options turned out to be quite limited and the staff even referred us to a cafe outside the hotel in case we weren't happy. Since we had paid for having breakfast (booking.com also offered options with no breakfast), this was a particularly off-putting and didn't.feel very custumer service oriented.

The hotel is large with many rooms with the benefits of a large institution. It is not luxurious but it is comfortable and very nice, kept very clean and orderly. The breakfast was surprisingly rich and well managed. The only problem was I ate more than I wanted to! The location was as expected: a 10-20 minute walk (a safe and easy walk) to the center. It's up to you if that is too far or not. There was no problem getting a parking space and it was about half the price of other spaces. But you can't reserve a space so it's hard to know how often spaces are not available. Staff at the reception desk were nice and helpful. The hotel was not inexpensive, but I think the price was appropriate all things considered.

Rooms could have been bigger. We were there only two nights so it was not a problem but for a longer stay it might be more bothersome. We did not find any good restaurants very nearby. Maybe we did not try hard enough or were not adventurous enough, but it seemed that all the decent restaurants were in the center, at least a 10-minute walk away. We were a family of 5 so we had to have two separate rooms but almost no hotels have rooms large enough to accommodate 5 people.

The hotel is conveniently located not far from the city centre: you can walk for 20-25 minutes and explore step by step this amazing city Edinburgh, or take a bus for 10 minutes. The soundproofing of the rooms is perfect, the room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Especially, my daughter liked to cook waffles herself and decorate them with various toppings. There are no complaints about the hotel staff, they are polite and friendly. So I recommend this hotel 100%!!

One small remark - the towel hooks in the bathroom were a little annoying, they are not comfortable, because towels constantly fell from them to the floor.

Our room at Hampton by Hilton was very spacious, lovely comfortable bed. The cleanliness was excellent and we liked it being serviced every day. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and plenty of it. We would like to say that every member of staff was courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel was good for anyone who was able to walk a good distance but anyone else might prefer to take a taxi up to the centre of Edinburgh.

LACK OF GOOD AIR CONDITIONING! We found that even when it was set to the lowest temperature and the curtains shut when we returned at tea time the room was unbearably hot and we had to leave the door open onto the corridor to let cooler air in. We called maintenance who arrived promptly and found that our room was exceeding 30 plus degrees. Despite whatever he tried he was unable to resolve this situation. A fan was brought up to our room which helped significantly. In the morning the room was sufficiently cool, however returning to our room each evening the problem recurred. We have no complaints about the efforts of the maintenance staff.

The room was spacious enough, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with good choice and selection. The bar area was really nice for drinks in the evening. Sofia's Kitchen on site was a lovely dining experience. The location was perfect for us due to family commitments nearby, but still close enough to town. Having a car parking space made life easier for us, as we were emptying a relatives flat and needed the use of the car daily. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Not too much of a problem for us but the TV had very limited channel availability. More clothes hangers in the wardrobe would be useful as would hooks on the back of doors for hanging coats etc.

The facilities are nice. The breakfast offering is good, my partner and I are vegan so the veggie haggis is a nice option. Would be excellent if they had vegan batter for the awesome pancake machine! The reception area and bar with the complimentary water and tourists information is lovely. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the shower / bathroom facilities are great with a lovely selection of cleaning products. The heated mirror is awesome! The location is a short walk to everything especially the castle which is 10mins walk!

The pillows! Might just be a personal choice but they are awful! I had to use both pillows just to get some level of comfort.

The receptionist Simona warmly welcomed us when we arrived and she gave us plenty of advices about the city, what to visit, where to eat and she has been very usefull to us, from 1 to 10 she is a 10!! Thank you Simona! Breakfast is good with a lot of choises, even gluten free breakfast, and the quality of the food is good. You can chose between sweet or savoury breakfast every morning. The only advice is that it would have been nice to have some typical food from UK like scones :) The bedroom is big enough, very new and cleaned. Big windows but you cannot open them. The hotel in general is very well mantained and the position to the city center is strategic. Arriving from the airport is very easy with the tram and there are also supermarkets very close.

It would have been nice to have had scones for breakfast. In-room windows cannot be opened. No fridge in the room. While sleeping, every time you turn in bed, it is making noises that sometimes are waking you up.

The property was lovely, beds comfortable and helpful staff! We had a lovely time and everything was really clean and it wasn’t too far from the station which helped a lot!

There was a few little things that were an issue. The water pressure in the shower was terrible, it took ages for us to wash shampoo out of our hair as the pressure was so low. The sink was also very bulky and you had to lean really far forward to brush your teeth and the tap was very close to the back of the sink which made it harder to wash your hands. It was noisy some nights with students or younger people running around and playing music late at night. Wasn’t too bad and they did stop but it did happen on several nights. The breakfast although lovely did have a few issues. The croissants were never out and every morning I had to ask for one as they weren’t available . The hashbrowns didn’t taste very fresh and could have been nicer.
