This was my first hostel experience, and I would do it again based on this facility. Nice staff The building is old, but it is well-maintained and clean. We were able to store our luggage before checking into our beds later that afternoon. Lots of locked doors that required a key to access, so it felt very secure. The bunk room was as advertised. There was a fan in the room that kept air moving and added white noise. Two sinks were available. Lockers were large, and there was enough space for everyone in the room to stash their gear safely. I was able to buy a lock at the front desk since I had forgotten mine. Towels were available for rent. Fair price for very large towels. Large bottle filling station available. We did not purchase the breakfast, but it looked and smelled nice every morning as we walked through to leave our rooms. Wifi is only available in common spaces. Plan accordingly. Just around the corner from the Cathedral, so it is in the heart of central London. Easy walking to the Tube and all the attractions.
In our area of the hostel, there was only one water closet and one shower for approximately 16 people. This meant that you sometimes had to travel down a flight of stairs and through a few locked doors to use the bathroom. Not a huge deal, but it was a challenge at times. The courtyard area was locked up, and I was not able to get my card to access it.

Budget friendly for a family. Our family room was upstairs away from the hubbub of busier dorms. Great location..2 minutes walk to St Paul's, Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern and s bus stop which most hop on hop off bus companies use. Macdonalds and Pizza Express just on the corner of the street, but equally some fun independent restaurants locally too. Staff helpful and friendly Check out at 10 am on your last day but can leave your larger bags in a safe room/lockers and spend time out exploring Clean bathrooms and linen Fan in the room
It was hot weather, with a family sharing a room, so quite stuffy. One kid couldnt sleep with noise of the fan so overnight we had the windows open to keep it cool..with occasiinal sirens passing by and the chimes of St Pauls clock we were glad we brought earplugs! Was handy to have breakfast there the first morning but we found it easier and more budget friendly to eat out on other mornings. There is a Co-op supermarket right outside St Paul's underground station which was good for quick lunches and snacks too.

This place is one of the most well-positioned hostels in London. You're minutes away from so many things in the city of London shops, restaurants, cafes, history, Tower Bridge, the Tube and Thameslink, venues, Spitafields, and so much more. For those coming with their own transport, there are multiple car parks and decks located nearby, and people on two wheels can park for free and most of them. The facilities are maintained to a high standard and the showers are very clean. More importantly, guests are very respectful and observe quiet times for the facilities. I always enjoy my stay here... It's a gem of a place in the heart of London.
I can't really complain about this place and I don't find anything wrong with it. Lovely place to stay.

The rooms here are always clean and comfortable. I usually stay here for only one night at a time whenever I am in the area. The hostel is across the road from St Pauls tube so very easy getting around. I appreciated being given a bottom bunk due to my dodgy knee so a big thanks for that. Slept very soundly. I like the luxury of being able to sit and watch a bit of TV late on at night and first thing on a morning and the chill out room is very pleasant and with a homely feel. The regular chiming of the St Pauls Bells is also a very pleasant sound so you never need a watch!!! Very interesting book collection.
Nothing. All good.

This place has not only a good location, but also a very attentive staff. The girl at the reception is very pleasant and attentive. I received comprehensive answers to all my questions when I made the reservation and upon check-in. The hotel is clean and quiet. Our private room was spacious enough. The bedding was clean and the beds were comfortable. Towels can be rented at the reception, they are not included. Soap is provided in the room, but bring your own cosmetics if necessary. The room and the hotel were warm. There were quite a few guests in the hotel, but we didn't feel it at all. The bells from the cathedral can be heard, but they did not disturb me, and if you take the turquoise at the reception, you will sleep peacefully. It was quiet and the restrooms with showers were free. The system of locks and cameras gives a feeling of protection. The Internet on the first floor is quite good. The hotel is open 24 hours a day and you can relax and enjoy the city without restrictions. You can buy breakfast, necessary things at the reception. Thank you very much for allowing me to leave my belongings at the hotel for a while after check out. I recommend this hostel as a price-quality ratio!!!

I visited London for a long weekend trip, and not wanting to spend the fortune that a hotel in the city costs, I chose YHA St. Paul. I had the bad luck of getting a stomach virus in the middle of my trip, which kept me the last two days in bed, weak and ill. I was not expecting much from the place in such unfortunate circumstances, but honestly the staff was fantastic. From the reception people, who was extremely accommodating to my needs, to the cleaning staff, who dealt with me around while having to do their duties, and went the extra mile to get me food and water when I could not leave the bed. I will always remember this place for its kindness in a moment of necessity. Regarding facilities, the hostel provides all the elements that one might expect: the bunk beds are ok, in the room there are spacious lockers (require a lock) that fit a cabin suitcase, a large bathroom with shower in the room and several toilets in the corridor nearby. The weekend I spent in London was rather hot (for English weather) but my room was fresh and they added ventilators for more comfort. The hostel also has a restaurant that I did not have the chance to try. Yes, I would definitely return for another weekend trip.
Nothing, really. The lacking facilities and comfort come from the fact that it is a hostel and one shares the room, than anything related to the management of the place.

Location of the hostel was fantastic and so were the breakfasts we had, not to mention excellent value. Staff was incredibly helpful in assisting us with tour bus tickets and general advice. We explored the neighborhood and found dinner options for all of us. We walked over to the Tate Modern and down to the South Bank with our two young children - again, can’t say enough about the location!
We understood that linens would be provided and we wrongly assumed that included towels. It was a bit of a shock to have to pay for towels when we weren’t traveling with any. Not the staff’s fault, but I wish guests had respected the quiet time as I got woken up in the night a few times. Also wish we had shelves to put clothes on during our stay.

Location is very good - most tourist attractions can be reached on foot. Close to metro stations. Breakfast was good, tasty. Staff was nice. Sink in the room Personal boxes under the beds to put luggage, etc.
Room could be cleaner, mold on the windows. 4-bed room could have a table & a chair. No place to put small personal belongings (phone, etc.) Pillows weren't comfortable.

I stayed there only for one night but I might stay there again next time I'm in London. Location is good, just next to St. Paul's Cathedral. Bus stop nearby. McDonalds, Tesco and TATE Modern in a walking distance. Room was nice and clean, with own sink. There are two shared toilets and two showers at the same floor. Quite quiet. You can hear the bells from the outside ringing each 15 minutes so earplugs might be handy. I like that I could store my luggage in a locker in the storage room before and after check in/out.
It would be good to have access to a kettle and drinking water at the floor. However, I don't know if there is something like that in other parts of the hostel since I stayed there only one night

Great location about 200m from St Pauls, easy / friendly check-in with staff available 24 hrs. Important to note I stayed in a suite so had the place to myself, it was very nice, spacious, well equiped, immaculately clean and looked as if refurbished not so long ago (or kept to high standard) Bed was very comfy, and kitchen looked good - not that I used it, but it looked good.
Nothing considering the price, parts of the building look a little tired, but considering the prices are a fraction of Budget chain hotels I cannot complain, nor expect 5* hotel levels of oppulence, Well, maybe one thing, the Bells of St Pauls do not have any sort of mute functionality and are loud, even with all windows shut, if you are a light sleeper then bring some earplugs.
