The location in the River North area was great! Go to the Goddess & the Baker down the street for breakfast…so amazing! You are across the street from Grand L train. So convenient! All of the staff were welcoming. We felt it was a great value. We enjoyed our stay!

The hotel's location is great — you can pretty much walk anywhere from there, and there are lots of bars and restaurants just a few blocks away. The staff was very friendly and polite. If you're visiting in the spring or summer, you can borrow one of the hotel's bikes and ride around Chicago. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The toiletries smelled amazing. I didn't use the gym and saw that the pool was closed, so if you're interested in using the facilities, it's best to check in advance to see what's open

Gabby was excellent! I arrived a bit early and needed to finish writing papers for finals while attending a conference at the Mariott. I chose to stay at another hotel for comfort and quiet, and Gabby not only got me in a room early, but she chose the best place I could have been. I was in room 1625! I have traveled a ton, and I have never thought about returning somewhere to the same hotel and room. The location was excellent, the hospitality exceptional, the food superb, and they served the most amazing Old Fashioned!
That the restaurant and bar closed so early. A hotel is the best place to enjoy yourself, and with alcohol the most perfect place because your room is right upstairs. Extend hours.

The location was excellent, the room had an excellent view, nice decor, big modern room and bathroom.
The room was very noisy we heard everything from the street. It is very expensive, we were there 2 nights, was advertised for $495 (Canadian) on booking, with all of the taxes ended up $657 and the valet parking(no other choice)$75 (American). We arrived 2 hour earlier (Check-in 16;00) and charged us $40 even though we left the last day at 8 o'clock what we mentioned but nothing was negotiable. No fridge, no coffee, no microwave in the room.

I selected this hotel solely based on the close proximity to my cousin's bridal shower, but I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The rooms are gorgeous, the pool is surrounded by stunning city views, and very single staff member went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I had my 3 year old twin girls with me on this trip, and from the moment we arrived, they were treated like absolute royalty as well. They made quick friends with the doorman, who gave them high-fives and goody bags every time we walked into the hotel. At one point, I also ran down to the front desk at one point and asked if they had any extra notepads for my girls to color on. The person at the front desk couldn't find any, but said he'd be happy to have someone run up with one shortly. Before I knew it, someone was knocking on our door with a large notepad, coloring books and crayons. I was BLOWN AWAY! After a few nights at this hotel, my girls were asking if we could move there. I told them that we sadly had to go back home to Atlanta, but we will most definitely be back the next time we come to Chicago!
I truly can't think of one negative thing to say about this hotel. It's a little bit on the pricy side, but so, so worth it if you can swing it!

The staff were awesome - the level of service I experienced here is unmatched at most other places I have stayed, from the warm greetings at reception to the attentiveness of the breakfast staff and bar staff everyone was great. The hotel also accommodated my request for a high floor. The bed was super comfortable and the room did indeed have a good city view. Thank you!
There will be some external street noise due to how central it is but this can be managed by requesting a higher room.

This is a great hotel with perfect walking distance to multiple stores, sights, and great restaurants. It was my 5th time in Chicago, and out of all the hotels I've stayed in this was my favorite one by far :) The room was large and very comfortable, had all the amenities I personally needed. It was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the pillows too. Loved it!
The only thing I personally would've loved is if there was a breakfast buffet. The restaurant downstairs has wonderful food and staff, no question, but a buffet is easier than a menu early in the morning :) But this is fully a personal preference!

Good and bad location, ill explain the bad later. in the perfect spot for walking to shopping/food attractions for the price. The room itself was very clean. Rooftop pool was fantastic. Spiro the doorman was very nice! Has a good restaurant.
This place is right next to a fire department so get ready to wake up allot at night from the sirens. Whoever used the jacuzzi in our suite before we checked in must have used a bath bomb or something in it, we decided to turn on the smaller secondary jets on our 2nd night and soap scum came out of them. so much that my wife and I had to get out and we didn't want to use it again, left filth all over the tub.

Staff was wonderful they accommodated all my room request. My upgraded room was wonderful. Centrally located in the downtown area with lots of places to eat, shop etc around.
The location is central, but it is downtown so expect it to be so noisy and busy but there was also quite a lot of homeless people around the buidling as it’s on a very busy downtown street. Also, for the price, there is a lack of basic amenities such as mini fridge and coffee maker in the rooms and no room service and they could do a better job at offering a wider range of basic amenities. But thankfully there are many stores etc around.

Sonesta River North was a perfect location for going out to eat, enjoying the busy night life, and exploring the city. Lost of main attractions are walkable (river walk, millennium park, etc.) and the metro is one block away. You also get a free bike rental with your stay so we visited some beaches near by. Staff are very friendly and rooms were comfortable, but the street was loud given how central it is.
Bring some ear plugs. We got a city view room facing west, and we could see the fire station that's on the next block over. The sirens were pretty constant and the streets are loud at night with all the bars, most playing live music. I'm sure the sirens would be less abrasive if you got a room on the east side of the building so I'd suggest that if possible. Otherwise it was a very nice room and comfortable stay!
