Fantastic staff, clean rooms and wonderful locale, insanely close to high-interest spots. Right against the main cathedral and even the building it’s in has its own small, beautiful, old church nestled within.

The walk up to the third floor is difficult with bags, be sure to take the elevator.

Exceedingly good location, right next to Stephansdom (with a great view from some windows), and 15 minutes walk from the Wien Mitte CAT terminal, or 15 minutes by U-Bahn from Hauptbahnhof. Friendly staff, clean and warm. The Mozart Ensemble holds excellent daily concerts in the fabulous Sala Terrena on the ground floor (for a fee), after which you can simply take the lift up to your room.

There's a reason no breakfast option is listed for the rooms, there is indeed no breakfast: this can be obtained from any of many local cafés. There is also no fridge or kettle to keep or make anything in the room. There is no curtain on loft windows, only a pale blind, meaning you risk being woken up with sunrise, which can be very early in Spring and Summer.

The location was perfect as we were right in the centre of Innerstadt which was brilliant! The only downside was the noisy street that we looked down on and the adjoining Church Bell which began to ring at 6am and finished at 10pm . It's not a sound I normally mind but this bell was clanged numerous times every hour with not just the number of chimes you'd expect (3 chimes for 3 o clock etc) it was extremely loud and not at all tuneful sadly. It did ruin our sleep but we still had a fabulous time. We had issues with the electric sockets but this was handled efficiently straight away by the very friendly receptionist.

The lack of breakfast and the church bell!

The room was simple with minimal furniture but it was clean and comfortable enough. As for the bathroom, its humble appearance is as in pictures. Some people said in their review "it is not a hotel", so with that low expectation I visit the house, and it was sufficiently cozy. Staff was friendly and kind, too. *There was no safe box, fridge, or AC in the room (there was a panel heater beside the wall, so it is ok during the winter). In terms of room temperature I wondered how hot it would be during hot days in the summer.

I had to heave my suitcase up to the first floor at my check in, since I didn't know the lift was available from the ground floor. Prior to the check in I heard from the guesthouse and other people's review that there was a staircase leading you to the first floor of the guesthouse and thought it was the only way, but the lift was very next to it.

Location is unbeatable! Generous sized rooms. Good shower. Very nice reception staff.

I arrived on a very late flight. I followed the Gaestehaus’ normal procesure - picking up the keys via a coded post box outside. The only problem was that the heating inmy room had not been switched on. Late January. Vienna. Not difficult to imagine that heating would be necessary. I slept in my down jacket under two duvets. Next day problem was fixed. There are two thermostats in the room and one (hidden from sight) was switched off. There were no instructions re heating in the room, so I had no way of knowing where to switch the heating on. After protesting, the management gave me a discount foe the first night.

reading all the comments about how difficult it was to find, I would have expected the manager to at least improve the signage to the guest house.. on location or as a minimum in the email confirmation.. no idea reception was on 3rd floor, or in stiege 1.. only indication was in the lift.. but you need to know that a lift is to be taken and where to find it. after a long journey no one wants the extra hassle.

It was very well located in an old building and is serviced by a small lift. It is so close to the main streets with restaurants, coffee shops, clothes shopping, and grocery shops all within 2 mins walk from the lobby. The room was spotless and bright, had a comfy bed, and a double door juliet style balcony. The bathroom was large with a power shower and lots of hot water and towels. Check-in was easy, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for a couple who want to be in the heart of things.

The location can't be beat, and the staff was very helpful and so nice.

It's sparse, which is fine if you're prepared for that. It would be really helpful if they had something to offer for breakfast, even if it was "grab and go". Mini fridges in the room would make a big difference for comfort. As summer's get hotter, the rooms are an almost unbearable temperature during the day and at night.

The location is unbeatable! It is quite literally behind THE church of Vienna. Its a no brainer, though it is a very religious space and decoration, be mindful of that. There is an elevator and reception in case you get lost. I did and I called them and they pointed me in the right direction. (Reception is on the 3rd floor)

Like almost every other hotel, no AC. I was sweating a lot. And of course, the ringing of the bells, I underestimated how loud they are.
