Location was great, only 4 minutes walk to Prague castle and maybe 10-15 minutes walk from the Charles Bridge. Only problem was that the hotel situated up in the hill and it was +35 degrees outside, we didn't really love those walks back to hotel after a long way walking at the old centre. The room where we stayed was nice anc cozy, it was facing towards the old stairs, so no cars, no pubs and people, no noice at all. So very peaceful and quiet to sleep. Staff was nice, especially Anastasia.

I didn't like the pillows but thats only my fault - I didn't ask for a new one.

The most amazing location in the "Lesser Town", at the foot of the Castle. Aside from the location, Golden Star exceeded all my expectations with its clean, beautiful room (with the best view ever), super friendly staff, and amazing breakfast. My wife doesn't eat breakfast normally but she looked forward to the Golden Star breakfast every morning.

The hill to the Golden Star was a bit long and steep. I thought it'd be an easy walk but it took some effort. It's a small price to pay for an amazing hotel.

The staff were fabulous from arriving, checking in offering us food even though it was late in the restaurant and ready for closing - overall all staff were very hospitable and friendly. The hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable with amazing views, we even enjoyed a drink on the terrace by the heaters ans the sun set, the hotel is in an excellent location for exploring. Breakfast was really nice too good variety on offer. My father stayed in a room of his own , my daughter & I had booked a package we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel in such a beautiful city! We would definitely choose to stay here again !

Absolutely AMAZING!! Ive traveled around the world and this was one of thee best places I’ve stayed. They have everything you need. They put comfort first! Great location! I walked to and from all my excursions. Prague castle right up the hill. Breakfast was satisfying. The mini bar and fridge in the rooms are stacked with snacks and drinks. Restaurant is attached to hotel. Mini market across the street. Room has a surplus of toiletries, including robe, slippers, towels, body wash, hand wash, lotion, shampoo, blow dryer, etc. Golden Star staff are respectful and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful example of luxury on a budget. If you’re on the fence, please book this place!! You wont regret it.

We loved this hotel, location was amazing, just underneath Prague castle, 20 minute walk to Charles Bridge and into the old town. The view from our superior room which was at the front of the hotel was amazing. A couple of afternoons we opened the large windows and sat there watching the world (& all the tourists) go by with a glass of wine in hand. Room was large, clean and luxuriously decorated. Bed and pillows very comfortable.

Not much to be honest. Only very slight niggle is the uphill walk to get to the hotel, which didn’t bother us.

This is our second stay at Golden Star and it did not disappoint! We loved our stay and everything about this hotel! Our room was very large and the bathroom was a dream with heated floors. Modern, clean, comfortable beds and the most amazing view of the city streets with Prague in the distance. The included breakfast was superb and the staff helpful and kind. Prague Castle is steps away, Strahov Library a short walk up the hill, the Charles Bridge is about 10 minutes away and takes you directly to old town. Lots of charming shops and restaurants in this area. I made reservations at Kuchyn which I didn't realize was literally steps away from the hotel. It was wonderful! Food was delicious, fun vibe, and wonderful staff! Parking is on the street for a fee close to the hotel. In our opinion, the best area to stay in Prague!

It is quite a walk from Old Town back to hotel as it is mostly uphill. There are trams that will get you close, and we found taxi's to be very expensive, but we did Uber back a couple of times and Uber was very reasonable!

Super pleasant staff, fantastic location, very pleasant atmosphere. Big room with fantastic view. Tasty breakfast.

There should be a kettle in each room as there is just a coffee machine and limited number of coffee pods (4 per person and stay (11 days stay) then you have to ask in the reception for two each time) - it is a pseudo comfort in my opinion. Rooms should be cleaned earlier - normally between 2.00 and 2.30 pm in our room - at which time we usually came back from our morning activities needing some rest and so forced to ask do not disturb and have no room maintenance.

Splendid location on the other side of the river. If you enjoy walking though, it's totally worth it. Nice view on the city and castle and it's the most elegant part of the town. The breakfast is exceptional, variety of food and choice which is a must have.

Would be better to have rooms with proper kingsize beds instead of single beds joints to each other. Dust could also be collected a bit more carefully, especially on the floor and the coffee mugs (which could be sealed in a bag). Rooms tempt to be a bit to warm, but this is probably typical in Prague, where everywhere you step in you have tropical temperatures.

I have stayed at Golden Star with my friend for a short city break. We arrived before check-in and the lady at reception kindly upgraded us free of charge to allow us to check in early. The rooms were spacious clean and very comfortable beds. We had an amazing view of the street facing towards the castle and the centre of Prague. There is easy access to all public transport but all the main sites are within walking distance. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of options to choose from. We couldn’t fault our stay. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. One tip if you are wanting to have dinner at the restaurant make sure to reserve a table as they do get busy sadly we didn’t think ahead to reserve a table and they couldn’t fit us in but the food looked amazing.

The building was lovely with plenty of character and the location was excellent at the top of a pretty street that had plenty of independent shops and restaurants. Our spacious standard was immaculately clean. I liked the high ceilings, tasteful decoration and the large window that had a view of the castle wall. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large and well fitted with an excellent shower. Facilities in the room were good with a tea/coffee machine that was well stocked with tea and coffee pods. The bottle of Prosecco that we ordered for our room was awaiting us on ice on our return the hotel after an afternoon sight-seeing and was good value. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice of hot and cold food, plus the bonus of Prosecco on ice to make a breakfast mimosa - a real treat.
