Exceptional breakfast with very attentive, welcoming staff. Great gym. Close to Seaport village for shops and dining on the evening. Discounts offered on attractions and free Harbour Cruise. Great room decor, wood floors in room rather than carpets - much more hygienic!

Being brits, we would have loved a kettle in the room. Husband didn’t love the bed for his back. Would have liked a duvet cover rather than folded sheet system as don’t like coming into contact with duvet that other people have used. Think this is the American hotel way however. Little bit noisy at night with certain engines whizzing up the promenade but amazing views compensate! In summary, for fussy brits travelling with 8yo and 16yo, this hotel exceeded expectations.

The room had been recently renovated and was phenomenal! Jazzy was the receptionist at check in and really went above and beyond to secure the best room possible for us. We were in town to celebrate my son's birthday and she was extremely helpful, taking her time to understand the nature of our visit and truly made the trip special. My kids absolutely loved the hotel, we had many activities planned in San Diego but they spent a good deal of time taking advantage of hotel amenities and were equally happy to stay in the pool and the room. Our view was amazing, the location was perfect and overall would highly recommend a stay here. The price is a little steeper compared to other options in the area but it was well worth it.

The location is the best. You are a few yards away from Seaport Village, which is a must for some quick food or an evening walk. Walking distance to the Navy Ship, Gaslamp district, convention center and Petco Park.

Parking...The first time we stayed, we valeted our vehicle, which was convenient, but we had our vehicle damaged, possibly from being parked in the tight garage. This time, we decided to self park. The parking garage is space out for tiny vehicles. Most vehicles that are parked are oversized (norma sized vehicles), that are double parked. Even if you are parked within the lines, you will hit the vehicle close to you, when you open the door. We had selfed parked for the first 2 nights, then decided to valet, because it was difficult to find parking spots. Also, the valet staff, at times, are not available-especially late nite returns. The Elevator on the Harbor Side, gets pretty busy in the evenings.

The breakfast was over priced but good. I ordered breakfast in the room and they brought it in a brown paper bag. No table with plates with The best china extra but a brown paper bag. For what u pay for which is what’s 4/5 star hotel is overpriced. Also, $45 to park in a parking structure that if u don’t watch what you’re doing you will mess something up like crash, go the wrong way etc. also to get to higher floors is confusing too. It has been upgraded to this new system that I had panic attack. We not going to mention I lost my father the night before 9-25-25.

To just update on the website before purchase list all the extra charges like parking is not included and the price if you purchase and that the in room breakfast comes in a paper bag.

Everything was seamless. I checked in online and they notified me when our room was available. When I arrived to pick up my key at the front desk, the line was a bit long but they were quick. Elevator was fast and I like the assigned elevators. Our room was a renovated corner room. Spic and span clean and lots of space. Really love how thoughtfully they designed the room. Whenever I stay in a hotel, there’s always something to gripe about. Not here… enough hooks to hang towels, amenities provided in the room, enough surfaces to put your stuff, enough outlets for your plugs, they even have motion lighting under the beds for when you get up in the middle of the night. Checkout was a breeze too. We’re local to San Diego so this was a staycation for us… planning to go back for future staycations.

Resort was a little higher than what booking.com showed when I booked (it was corrected when I checked in). Parking was also higher than what booking listed. Make sure to check Grand Hyatt’s website.

We absolutely loved it! Our family had an AMAZING time! The location couldn’t have been better. The Santa Fe Depot was just two blocks from the hotel, making it incredibly convenient to take the bus or train around the city and to the airport. While the restaurants were a bit pricey, we found a grocery store nearby, which was helpful. We all enjoyed swimming in the heated pool. Everything shown in the pictures and on the hotel’s website is exactly as described. I highly recommend this hotel for its fantastic location, proximity to the seaport, and the stunning views from the room!

Staff were excellent. My wife had a booking through work, but my daughter and I were arriving a night earlier so booked the same room type through booking.com. Staff assigned the same room so that we could have one continuous stay without having to check out and back in. There is a sports center on the roof with - my daughter loved pickleball and we played countless hours there and also at the pool. Very easy walk to supermarket and the Gaslamp Quarter. Views over the marina were the icing on the cake. Close to Santa Fe Terminal if arriving by train as we did.

Resort Fee - not uncommon these days though. Charged per day (included in booking.com price) but only gives you benefits like 1 bike hire voucher per guestroom per stay so makes it a bit impractical to use.

The check-in line was very long, waited about 45 minutes. The shower in our room wasn’t working properly and the tub would fill with water up to my ankles. When booking my room on the Hyatt website, it says breakfast included. When I received my itemized bill for the hotel stay, it shows I’m being charged $87 for breakfast and my acct was charged for it couple days after. Not happy about that, still need to call the hotel and resolve that issue.

Ria at check in was very efficient and helpful. She is geared towards doing the needful to encourage clients for recurring stays at this hotel. She is a possible candidate for a managerial position. There was a lady at breakfast, not sure but I think her name was Lesley who was always ensuring that both at the entrance and the restaurant the guests were being taken care of. Saw her also cleaning up the mess created by some kids immediately after occurring, which was indeed impressive. She comes across as a valuable employee. The breakfast was superb with great choices. Could not have been better in any other hotel.

The food at Sallys fish place was not up to standard. The dishes lacked flavor. Also had to wait quite a bit to catch the attention of the waitress to get my bill.

Nice location just a 100m from the bay. The hotel has excellent facilities, basketball courts, swimming pool, a great hotel gym, pickleball courts etc., which are all free to use. The room is comfortable and is probably more 4 star than 5 star standard let down by things like a shower curtain over a bath and no separate shower, but in general it is comfortable and good for a family stay. The breakfast for an American hotel is very good indeed, probably the best we have had in America and while the choice doesn't match an Asian 5 star hotel it was all good quality I would recommend including this in your room booking. Very quiet, no noise at all.

The price of drinks and food in the bar and restaurant is ridiculous, a beer was $17 for instance! It is also irritating that the breakfast serving is set up to encourage tips, it was a hassle getting drinks and they were often incorrect and it would be much easier if they had a juice section and place to simply get your tea and coffee, rather than a service for drinks which seems unnecessary as its not like you don't have to get up for your food in any case. The wait for reception was also very long at times.
