Two grandparents (late 70s) w/ two grandchildren (8 and 13) for a 3 day/4 night adventure in Chicago. Hotel was GREAT, really GREAT. Breakfast was exceptional. Kids loved the pool and exercise facility. Staff (all of them) were very friendly and helpful. Location (Near North Side) was perfect for our purposes. Metro and bus were very close (w/in 2 blocks). More than ample restaurants nearby. One in the hotel. And . . . AND . . . the price was reasonable, very reasonable. Holy c**p!! Stay here.

The hotel is excellent, fast check in/check out, clean everywhere, excellent beds, bed linen and fresh, new towels. Quite acceptable pool, also a cool terrace, where you can relax in the evening. Not bad breakfast, although the description of the breakfast was overstated, in general it is no worse and no better than any American breakfast. Good for visiting Chicago for a few days

It is very inconvenient to use the TV remote, you have to be a genius with buttons, why did they do it like that? Also, there is no or did not work a hood in the bathroom, which is very inconvenient.

It smelled amazing upon entering the building! The pool was nice and warm. The hotel room was so clean and lovely, I did not think twice about showering!

Maybe an area for children to play on the terrace ?

The receptionist at arrival went above and beyond, really friendly and helpful. All the other staff I interacted with, be it the housekeepers, breakfast staff, as well as the other receptionists were also excellent. The area is nice and location is very convenient, close to Navy Pier, the Bean/Art Institute, and public transportation. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was enjoyable, I liked the fresh self-made waffles and the coffee was excellent. Finally, the hotel has a pool that's on the small side, but enjoyable. A sauna/stream room would really enhance the pool/gym area if the hotel decided to add that feature. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel with confidence.

While the breakfast was ultimately good and enjoyable, there were some items missing that one would expect to see at a good hotel such as bacon, ham, cheese, more than one type of bagel and bread, more pastries than just one type of muffin. Without these items, breakfast turns into a very sugar-high affair, which really isn't optimal if one is staying longer than a couple of days.

Room: The room facilities are new and modern. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. We love the shampoo and conditioner the most. It smells good and makes my hair fluffy after washing. Breakfast: It was included in the room rate and it was delicious. The breakfast selections were a little different each day which was nice. Our favorites were the omelets and the self-made waffles.

Location: It's too close to the fire station. It's a bit noisy when sleeping at night. And we stayed on the 12th floor, and we could hear clanging noises all the time, not sure if it was from the roof or the pipes. Please prepare sleeping earplugs. Staff: We arrived at around 8pm. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. The valet parking person at the door was very kind and called the staff out for us. Laundry: Guest laundry facilities were dirty and smelly and need cleaning.

Provided; safe deposit box, coffee, kettle, ice container, mini fridge, iron and ironing board, laundry bag. Lots of drawers and storage cabinets. The bathroom has lots of counterspace for toiletries. Provided in bathroom: good quality brand of hand soap, face soap bar, lotion, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Hair dryer. Lots of towels. Desk with mirror and also a full mirror on the hallway. Lots of electrical sockets about three on each side of the desk and then another one by the bedside table. Lots of hooks for towels inside the bathroom has three pairs and then another pair of hooks again on the “hallway “ . bathroom also has a special LED light in the mirror for make up. Located in city centre short walk to Nordstrom and Lou Malnatis and boat tour. Still walkable to Navy Pier, Bean and N.Michigan shopping street. The lady who checked us in has such a fun personality and so fun to talk to. Her name is Yolo. There’s someone by the doors of the hotel that is assisting guests arriving in cars and waiting to check in, which is good because it’s so hard to get a spot in front of the hotel.

Although the bathroom is bright and has additional LED lights on both sides of the mirror, the rest of the room is filled with only a desk lamp and bedside lamps. Needs to be more bright. Not provided: robes and slippers, microwave, magnifying mirrors for make up, shower cap. Toilet paper not of good quality.

I like the breakfast than anything else. Also, I like room and location

Parking was very difficult. I understand the hotel don't provide free parking, but it's the responsibility of the hotel to provide information about cheap public parking near the hotel. If you stay for more than two days the hotel parking rate is $55 or $65 per day and that's very expensive. Fortunately, I got nearby public parking for around $26 per day.

This Hampton Inn is very good value for money thanks to the great location with restaurants and shops nearby and many sights (Magnificent Mile, the Loop, Navy Pier) within walking distance. Perfect as a starting point to get to know the city. Self parking was not cheap, but very easy, even with our oversized SUV. The pool is okay for kids.

The breakfast is the only week point with Little Choice and no variety and on top of that, it was very crowded between 9 and 10 am, with a long queue for the waffle irons. With a little coordination from the staff, this chaos could have been handled better.

Everything, the receptionist was very nice and welcoming. Rooms are very nice, good orginized. Breakfast is ussual as in every hotel in US- bad! Come on US, you can do better. Pool is very nice, gym small but you have everything. Clean rooms. It’s just a good hotel.

Valet was bad except the last night. I was going early out and you could not reach them, they say 15 min, it is 25. Don’t bother. The night before the check out one guy was really professional !

We loved our stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Chicago! The location was fantastic and so convenient. The hotel staff was extremely friendly from the moment I walked in to check in. The breakfast every morning was great for our family. Being able to bring a pet for an extremely reasonable fee was an added bonus! My son was obsessed with the pool... all around this hotel checked all the boxes for our family. We will be back!!

If I had to be picky, the elevators were very slow and only one was properly working the entire time, but it really didn't bother us much.
